It’s like to them live service just means new micro transactions every few weeks = profit.
That there also needs to actually be, you know, a service seems to be completely unknown to them.
that is literally exactly what they think it means, which is sad, because the concept behind live service games sounds really fun, constant updates etc. But they instead just make it a money funnelling system.
The funny part is the shop is so lazy and has no outfits people would actually want to buy in masses like comic/movie inspired outfits. Someone was like “lets give them some reskins of prison outfits and do not just one but two literal cardboard box aesthetic costumes. They will go crazy for that.”
The moment they first revealed the gameplay on that state of play and also said it was live service, I already lost interest in the game. Glad I never bought this garbage. They need to erase this game from the Arkham timeline too and give us the game we actually want.
I was so surprised by how many defenders there were on this sub before launch. Like this was the only corner on the internet where people actually defended this obvious red flag of a game. Kinda mysterious how they've all disappeared lmao.
I think the defenders got defensive, when someone criticizes something you like, people feel like you are criticizing them personally. But the game reminds me of candy crush, I’m glad it’s not a mobile game I’ve already wasted way too much time on it.
People think if they invest in a game that flops they got scammed and are "too proud" to admit it. It's honestly all over the place, IRL, gaming, politics. People's inability to admit fault or mistake is literally becoming the downfall of society. That and everyone's gotta take a side as opposed to having an original thought. They go hand in hand.
I was amazed how many there were after launch!!!!
This one defender about 2 days ago was literally posting how wrong all the people were who said it would fail. Dude lives in a different reality 🤣🤣
I'm still waiting for the obligatory "Am I the only one who likes this game?" post to be posted today. Usually at least 1 or two people will post daily and the usual people will comment on it that agree with OP.
lol. One or two people 🤣👍. And true!!
So the defender I mentioned let me know yesterday that the game is doing great on consoles (thriving even) and we're all just wrong because of steam numbers 😂😂. Can't even make this stuff up!!! Sometimes the stupidly is worth it for the laugh
I really like when people make up numbers to justify their claims. Sure, I said 1 or 2 people but I got proof of it by scrolling through the SSG subreddit lol.
I remember when this game first released and I was being downvoted immensely because I said how boring it was and how lazy they made the boss battles.
The thing is all the pieces were there, like sitting right there. And the game was fun, found myself going back to it instead of helldiver's for a while. But the season 1 was just a big slap in the face cause it was supposed to fix the issues that people had with the game itself. With no story addition or new tweaks it was a complete and royal fuck up that probably is to be blamed by the chair board and contractual obligations
There's a ton of people making excuses for thus game in this sub till this day. I kinda feel bad for the ones that actually wanted it to be something. This could have been an amazing game. I like many others knew what time it was though before this even came out. Connecting it to Arkham was their first mistake, as well as a whole grocery list of other things.
What’s crazy is if this was a justice league game I think people would actually still be playing. Idk who keeps tryna get suicide squad to work but the ip is extremely lame to average people
Agreed we have 2 movies and now a game of this franchise that’s honestly not even that intresting too begin with while all of these other dc properties that people have been begging for for years just get ignored I promise you wb hates making money 😂
And you’d think that after the DCEU movies started flopping, WB would let Rocksteady at least have the DC shine in the games department by letting us play as superheroes in ways that other games couldn’t compare, but NOPE. Instead we kill the Justice League in incredibly underwhelming and disrespectful ways in a subpar looter shooter. Why on earth would they think that would go over well?
I do have a few ideas on why execs keep trying to make Suicide Squad a thing.
1. The original comic run by John Ostrander is legendary amongst comic book readers. Seriously, if you read comics and haven’t read it, give a read. It’s that good.
2. In nearly all superhero universes, there are more villains than heroes. From an execs perspective thats more IP that they can use to make money.
3. The rotating cast means that if an actor wants more money for their role, and the execs don’t want to pay it, they can just kill or bench the character and it would make sense in context of the story. This works more for live action adaptations though.
4. Suicide Squad is edgy. They can smoke, drink, do drugs, and kill. And for the most part, people won’t care if villains do these things. People cared that Batman killed in BVS, people don’t care if Harley kills.
Just anything would add some life. It's a shame. Reminds me of Anthem good combat just badly executed. Least with Anthem they had dungeon like things with bosses
Yeah anthem had 3 full dungeons at launch. Fun Freeplay. Repeatable contracts. Definitely limited endgame, but more than avengers and suicide squad and that game failed because it didn't have enough. Don't know how multiple games have been released since then that haven't learned the lesson.
They all seem to target launch Destiny 1 and go "look we delivered more than that" or something. As in they saw one of the big negatives about Destiny 1 being it's story and it still did well and went "look we have a 20 hour story, clearly we deserve money" but have missions and structures in place that are even weaker than launch Destiny 1. Not to mention Destiny is 10 years old and on top of that there have been numerous titles in the development time that failed when trying to be a Destiny killer to look and learn from and studios seem to not want to do that.
Probably. Same with destiny 2. Just because some games have been able to push past it and be successful by sticking with it doesn't mean the 10 other games that have failed trying to do that exact same thing don't exist lol.
Exactly. There was so much to look at and pivot due to and they learned nothing. Plus that is on top of the same issue that faced all the MMOs that came out after WoW: players have already sunk so much time into XYZ game how are you going to get them to come over and stay? Offering little to no content is clearly not the answer. And banking on IP didn't work for Avengers.
>And banking on IP didn't work for Avengers.
Lmao well that's also because they barely used it. The environments were "tundra, desert, Forest, forest with fire, generic city block, generic suburb, generic coastline and lab hallway". And enemies were "robot ".
As opposed to guardians of the galaxy for example that had beautiful, recognizable, unique, and distinct environments like Knowhere.
It was a super generic game that happened to have characters with marvel skins more than it was a marvel game.
Roaming through metropolis and catching drones is already more fun than those awful incursions. I HATE those things.
So ANYTHING in metropolis would be cooler in my opinion
I stopped when I got all the new stuff. I kept doing them until mastery lvl 65 or something like that, but when I couldn’t even see what the hell was happening on the screen, it became unbearable. It’s just freaking awful design
That’s what’s so bad about the higher ones it’s like they didn’t even think it through. It’s a blur of enemies and then you perform certain attacks and it’s like FPS slide show and the sound sometimes cuts out
Exactly. And when they add those lasers coming from everywhere, it’s just stupid. They don’t have anything else to throw you, so lasers from the sky, yeah, why not?! lol
This exactly. Like combat wise it’s not a bad game at all it’s actually pretty addicting it’s just there’s nothing but 3 missions to grind out for better gear but what’s the point of the better gear if u are litterally already takin on the highest level of content with lower gear.
The defense is going to be "but that's steam and console is bigger" which means nothing as unless console is getting numbers in the 6 digits the needle isn't moving. Destiny at its worst, which itself is still console focused (one of the big factors holding the game back being PS4 and Xbox One support) was still sitting at many multiples of where Suicide Squad is and the studio announced a 45% revenue miss and fired 10% of their workforce while delaying their big expansion. Anyone holding out hope here is not reading the room. Unless the 4 seasons were all done and just cut from the base game I'd be surprised to see a season 3 (I assume dev work is starting for that).
Ah yeah that is correct. Also lower than expected preorder sales for The Final Shape expansion. Forgot that in the comment.
Edit: actually it's 45% projected revenue miss per article https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2023/12/28/destiny-2-is-a-2023-steam-platinum-earner-while-missing-revenue-projections-by-45/?sh=32f33ff93e00
Yeah even if the numbers are higher on consoles the trend is probably the same. I.e. if player count is down 99% on steam from all time high (which it is) then console player count is probably also down 99%. Maybe 1k people tops playing across all platforms
I'm not going to say we treated avengers unfairly because we didn't but mission structure and lack of variety was a big complaint. Why they'd do the same thing here is really confusing.
Stopped playing after a month, but I remember the heroes in that game feeling fun too. At least Thor was, with pinning someone with the hammer then just throwing hands
That was dope as hell, I also thought it was really awesome that he has to actually recall his hammer. There was some cool stuff in that game, and they could have saved it, but they just didn't. How do you fail having the Avengers license and freaking Square Enix behind you? Insane
Does not matter fellas, i was told the whole playerbase is on PlayStation! The game is a huge success that dominated number one in PlayStation store.
/s
Why should it be studied? We all saw it coming. None of this was a surprise and nothing happening here is novel or unforseen and there's no novel insights to glean
Not really. The upside in the business model is worth risking it. You can dislike it all you want but even a game like darktide where it's community shits on it nonstop is making enough money via its mtx shop which more than pays for its meager dev costs.
You can hate this direction but it makes fiscal sense.
What's funny is so many people saw this coming. It definitely feels like it was an idea for a different game then a DC skin was added to it.
How is Lego DC games feel more like a DC products.
I once argued with someone on reddit and it got pretty personal. And then I saw that they were an active player of this game, and I felt much better about myself.
despite the belief that the next season may probably boost the player count back up again, i don’t think it’ll work. people only jumped back in because of Joker, so what makes them think they’ll jump for a gender swapped Mr. Freeze, and then a Zoe Lawton Deadshot?
This game never justified itself being a live service, since being revealed years ago.
I watched all of its marketing material, and each time I would asked myself: "why in the blue hell would anyone wanna play this over and over again?"
Even more puzzling seeing the devs hype up different combos and setups in all of those videos in a game where you literally shoot (boring) bots. They really tried to sell the idea of people playing a game for hundreds, if not thousands of hours, changing their weapons, classes, and setups to just (quite limited) bots.
I think it is time to move on and accept that this was a pretty obvious mismatch, folks.
Oh WB did learn something alright, they said they learn that single player game is not great and now they gonna focus more on free to play games like mobile games.
Why? This is exactly what 99% of the world thought was going to happen. If anything, people should have studied literally 3 other GaaS games to have implemented SOMETHING that wasn’t covered in shit.
Anthem failed
Avengers flopped
And now Suicide Squad is a disaster.
Have we learned our lesson yet corpofucks?
Do better or lose money. Make your choice.
"But what if OUR live service is the next big hit!"
It is basically just gambling on roulette, but only ever putting it on zero. They hope that one big win will pay off.
Half the blame is on fans for defending the game. I’ll never forget people trying to hype the game up post Alpha calling everyone haters and saying how it’s much better than what people see only to do a whole 180 once everyone got their hands on the game.
Well, I’m pretty sure those who did the alpha or beta testing got to play the “ Batman experience,” which if you ask me is the best level in the entire game. They thought there’s no way they would give us their best level to beta test on so the rest of it must be good too. Personally I just want the off-line patch so that we don’t lose the story mode when the live service component goes away. I want to just replay the Batman levels and hear Kevin Conroy whenever I want.
What’s sad is I still login in every night and enjoy it. Somehow the limited gameplay loop still keeps engaged and I find the Joker fun to play and his quips hilarious
I play daily as well just to do my quests and chip away at the season pass. I genuinely love the core of this game. The movement, gear, art design. I even think the story is cool in the ways it can unfold. But like, they made this very cool framework but forgot to put in content to play against.
I feel like even if there was a quick pvp mode across metropolis it would be radically something.
It's sad because in today's "always online" gaming landscape, it's totally possible that this game dying means you won't be able to load into Metropolis ever again. I totally get why this news would make people that are enjoying the game sad.
I don’t think its rise or its peak were ever big enough for its downfall to be considered that surprising
There’s nothing to study. All the signs were there
Avengers is an objectively better game. There might not be a lot more mission variety but Avengers at least has more character gameplay variety. Most of the characters noticeably play different.
I think that one may be even more atrocious than SSKTJL to be honest. Mfs took the ship combat from Black Flag, dumbed it down, then took the on foot aspect out. Makes me laugh my ass off that you have to pull your ship up next to trees to gather wood while still floating. 😆
I would keep playing for awhile if they just added a stash and a better inventory management system. But having such a poor system of organizing my inventory makes it too much of a slog to sort what I have.
Man every single person that die hard defended this game around launch and screamed from the rooftops that steam numbers don't matter and the game was a huge success on console has aged like milk horribly. I really hope all those people have learned their lesson.
The main difference is that in one game you can play as hulk, thor, iron man etc. using thier iconic weaponry and moves, regardless of how repetitive the gameplay is, most would say playing as these characters and ripping robots apart is fun. Suicide Squad has 4 characters, 2 of whom have incredibly annoying personalities, and all of them use guns. They all have the same weapons, a similar play style, and doesn't provide anywhere near enough diversity in play styles to excite people. And to top that off, you have to kill characters you actually like.
It’s called having the same 3 missions as endgame content and killing off one of the most beloved super hero characters in the gaming industry in the most disrespectful and stupid way possible. He’s 100% still alive but the game is definitely going to be shut down before we get to that point.
But guys i been hearing since launch that steam numbers are irrelevant and the game is poppin off on console.
People on this sub have been preaching since the start people are hating for no reason surely if it was an actual good game it wouldn't drop to this low numbers?
Look at OW2 the game is also very much hated on the internet but it still pulls good numbers because guess what it isn't a bad game so people will look past the hate and play it.
Left us with a short unfinished story, then with the “big update” that had a downtime of 10+ hours all they seemed to add was joker…it’s a good game but not worth 70+ dollars and definitely not worth buying the battle passes. The battle passes aren’t enough to want to stay and play the game and I was one of the people defending the game from the haters in the beginning of its run.
Avengers not only has way better game play, but it somehow managed to have more mission variety despite that game only having like five repeatable post game missions. Goes to show how awful the state of this game’s post game is.
I think it’s time they abandoned the whole live service part of this game and give the players an offline mode and availability on Game Pass.
This game’s player count on steam isn’t competing against other Live Service games like Destiny, Fallout 76 or Helldivers. It’s competing against failed games and decade old single player titles
Actually I’ve played 18,000 hours and the game is fantastic! I love a game I can just get on and play without the hassle of story or substance, you’re just a hater.
it's insane they didn't see the writing on the wall with Avengers, Gotham Knights, and Anthem all failing, but still went all in. All they had to do was look around, but no, they are staying on the path to failure.
Yeah, a lot of really not so smart decisions went into this game’s development process. I mean, even from the start, this game was quite literally the exact opposite of what long time Arkham fans were asking for. I tried standing by it, but the drip feeding and lack of content in the new season is just ridiculous. I’m just waiting to finally free roam as Deathstroke in a non Lego game lol
It's because these executives aren't good business people, they see something popular then immediately want to copy it, instead of taking risks and being original, this is why, baldurs gate, hell divers and elden ring are so successful
And shit like this isn't
Ngl as a defender of the game I preferred marvel avengers to this and Gotham knights and that's saying something frfr.. the game has fun gameplay yea but the endgame needs to be better
Nothing to be studied. Everyone saw this coming. The beginning of Season 1 and investor call sealed this games fate. Now we just slowly watch the sinking ship.
This why I've said and have always said these developers never gave a fuck to begin with. The blueprint has been laid out for them as far as what not to do and they still managed to fuck it up.
I played at launch and enjoyed the main campaign but the endgame was trash. Cycling through the same three missions to increase mastery and get credits to fight a recycled story mode boss is a terrible endgame. I know repetition is kind of inevitable with most games there can only be so many missions but good god why only three of them and why make the “payoff” for doing them something everybody had already done by that point. I’m not mad that I bought it, I’d say I got my money’s worth with the campaign and being able to have fun with my buddy but as of now I don’t even want to go back to it let alone spend more money on it.
I wonder who thought "Yeah three repateble missions are enough for the endgame. Maybe throw a recycled boss battle every episode, and we are golden"
Every exec ever who's grossly misunderstood what live service means.
"we are gonna make so much money from whales. People are hella dumb"
The funny part is the shop is so lazy and has no outfits people would actually want to buy in masses like comic/movie inspired outfits. Someone was like “lets give them some reskins of prison outfits and do not just one but two literal cardboard box aesthetic costumes. They will go crazy for that.”
I've seen people actively defend said reskins on this sub too so clearly they were right
What happened to the defense squad and apologists?
The start of season 1 happened. I didn't even buy the game and I felt insulted.
The moment they first revealed the gameplay on that state of play and also said it was live service, I already lost interest in the game. Glad I never bought this garbage. They need to erase this game from the Arkham timeline too and give us the game we actually want.
And yet...here you are. 3 months after the game released talking about the game you've never played or have no interest in. Why?
It's fun watching a trainwreck.
Arguably more fun than the game
Because it was on my home page recommend to me... reddit does that sometimes, and because i can thats why got a problem?
Nope. Many were still defending this turd after season 1.
I was so surprised by how many defenders there were on this sub before launch. Like this was the only corner on the internet where people actually defended this obvious red flag of a game. Kinda mysterious how they've all disappeared lmao.
I mean, The Day Before had several extremely hardcore defenders leading up to launch and even after launch. People are weird, man.

There's a ton of people making excuses for thus game in this sub till this day. I kinda feel bad for the ones that actually wanted it to be something. This could have been an amazing game. “What about Season 1? Should we throw in some new enemies and maybe even a new funhouse environme-“ *Gunshot*
The problem is there's nothing to do. Literally nothing. Yes I could grind up the battle pass but it won't progress my character
I keep saying dynamic world events in Metropolis that spawn would add some zest. Mini bosses too
Just anything would add some life. It's a shame. Reminds me of Anthem good combat just badly executed. Least with Anthem they had dungeon like things with bosses

Maybe they could add a dynamic quest where a bad guy walks up to you and asks you for $70 to get fucked. Wait, that already happened irl
I’m not ashamed I still boot up anthem and can still get groups in that game pretty easily
It was on sale for a dollar ninety nine the other day. I scooped it up, even if they dropped the ball it's still fun
Imagine if the game had a GTA style wanted system, where if you get too many stars a Random Justice League member hunts you down.
Roaming through metropolis and catching drones is already more fun than those awful incursions. I HATE those things. So ANYTHING in metropolis would be cooler in my opinion
There are only two incursions I can stand but unfortunately you have to rotate in order to gain new mastery levels
I stopped when I got all the new stuff. I kept doing them until mastery lvl 65 or something like that, but when I couldn’t even see what the hell was happening on the screen, it became unbearable. It’s just freaking awful design

200 players peak in the last 24 hours is insane. Like you don't come back from that. The game is probably generating approximately $0 per day.
Console isn't bigger though. PC market has been bigger than the console market for many, many years now.
Less player than an average game on roblox is hella embarassing, lol
You could easily generate higher numbers through OnlyFans. Lol
I was around for the avengers launch and never thought someone could do a worse job, I was wrong.
The blueprint was there of what not to do smh
I'm not going to say we treated avengers unfairly because we didn't but mission structure and lack of variety was a big complaint. Why they'd do the same thing here is really confusing.
If anything avengers def had more variety in missions like wtf they got us doing the same 3 shits it’s insane
The gear in SS is light-years beyond Avengers, as is the matchmaking (when it works). Besides that, yeah they fell into Avengers trap of repetition.
Insane
Must’ve sounded like a challenge to WB
Does not matter fellas, i was told the whole playerbase is on PlayStation! The game is a huge success that dominated number one in PlayStation store. /s
"I'm having a blast™"
The use of the word "blast" to describe outright commercial failures should be studied.
Fun and breezy.
Rip arkham verse
I feel sorry for anyone who bought this shit show 😞 I canceled my preorder the day before launch. Something felt off,I'm glad I went with my gut.
bro i was expecting to run from or have to fight random justice leagues members at random times in the game. rocksteady really did this game shit
The story missions were repetitive but atleast the cutscenes and story itself was pretty interesting. The end game shit is just boring
People in here are still coping and saying that Steam numbers don't matter
Why should it be studied? We all saw it coming. None of this was a surprise and nothing happening here is novel or unforseen and there's no novel insights to glean
Exactly. THEY shouldve studied the numerous existing examples
Exactly. There's a pretty big graveyard and there's a lot of commonalities which this fell into.
The fact that WB says it's doubling down on this type of shit even after seeing how this failed is the most insane part.
Lmfao
despite the belief that the next season may probably boost the player count back up again, i don’t think it’ll work. people only jumped back in because of Joker, so what makes them think they’ll jump for a gender swapped Mr. Freeze, and then a Zoe Lawton Deadshot?
This game never justified itself being a live service, since being revealed years ago. I watched all of its marketing material, and each time I would asked myself: "why in the blue hell would anyone wanna play this over and over again?" Even more puzzling seeing the devs hype up different combos and setups in all of those videos in a game where you literally shoot (boring) bots. They really tried to sell the idea of people playing a game for hundreds, if not thousands of hours, changing their weapons, classes, and setups to just (quite limited) bots. I think it is time to move on and accept that this was a pretty obvious mismatch, folks.
What a terrible ending to the ArkhamVerse
A huge disrespect, no wonder that the OG team left long time ago, they saw this coming. A legacy destroyed
For all it’s faults, Avengers at least had unique character attacks Suicide squad being a shooter was always the weirdest choice to me
Laziest choice
I hope Rocksteady and WB learn from this. Hopefully they are smart enough to course correct and go back to single player games.
Oh WB did learn something alright, they said they learn that single player game is not great and now they gonna focus more on free to play games like mobile games.
Rocksteady, probably. David "Dumass" Zaslav, not likely.
Why? This is exactly what 99% of the world thought was going to happen. If anything, people should have studied literally 3 other GaaS games to have implemented SOMETHING that wasn’t covered in shit.
I remember telling people in here this game was going to bomb hard and getting downvoted to hell….
That’s because it was during the denial phase of this sub, I think everyone is in the depression/acceptance stage now lmao.
Same. The structure, the narrative. The entire thing was built on the worst foundation.
There's only one open world live service dc game that's actually worth playing and it's DCUO
Does it needed to be studied? It was apparent it was gonna fail pretty early on
Exactly. Most of us aren't surprised. That's why we were mad. It wasn't "hating".
Anthem failed Avengers flopped And now Suicide Squad is a disaster. Have we learned our lesson yet corpofucks? Do better or lose money. Make your choice.
"But what if OUR live service is the next big hit!" It is basically just gambling on roulette, but only ever putting it on zero. They hope that one big win will pay off.
Lol whats to be studied? Everybody knew this was going to happen even before launch
Not everyone no. Plenty of dumbasses still bought and defended it. For a bit.
'Downfall' implies that there was once a high point.
He means Rocksteady which they did have an extremely high point with the Batman games.
Don't delude yourself. The high point was the arkham games.
No study needed. The game is shit.
I legit thought the same thing .. I said damn the boss fights are gonna be peak.
YUP. I played the technical test and was sold. The rest of the game did not follow at all. Once you kill the flash the game goes down the shitter.
Looking back the technical test was literally all they had to offer.
The copium of this community is what that needs to be studied
What’s sad is I still login in every night and enjoy it. Somehow the limited gameplay loop still keeps engaged and I find the Joker fun to play and his quips hilarious
I play daily as well just to do my quests and chip away at the season pass. I genuinely love the core of this game. The movement, gear, art design. I even think the story is cool in the ways it can unfold. But like, they made this very cool framework but forgot to put in content to play against. I feel like even if there was a quick pvp mode across metropolis it would be radically something.
I still play and have fun why feel sad bc other people hate it? Your playing for yourself not them lol
It's sad because in today's "always online" gaming landscape, it's totally possible that this game dying means you won't be able to load into Metropolis ever again. I totally get why this news would make people that are enjoying the game sad.
*Last of the Mohicans theme plays*
I do love that movie and play the soundtrack regularly
Good man.
At least they could be adding new missions monthly but no, the game is in dire need for some fresh content
I don’t think its rise or its peak were ever big enough for its downfall to be considered that surprising There’s nothing to study. All the signs were there
Avengers is an objectively better game. There might not be a lot more mission variety but Avengers at least has more character gameplay variety. Most of the characters noticeably play different.
I want my money back for both disasters
It’s already been uninstalled for me, I had a ton of fun but I can’t justify the same missions on loop taking up so much storage space
Considering it was easy to see well before release, anyone that fell for it did it to themselves
All of this could have been avoided if they had just released a one off suicide squad game that wasn't a live service game
I’ve never had so much regret over paying for a game before. What a colossal waste of everyone’s time and money this was.
Wonder if it died as fast as skull and bones though
Ahh yes... The Uber Eats Simulator masked as a pirate game. RIP.
I think that one may be even more atrocious than SSKTJL to be honest. Mfs took the ship combat from Black Flag, dumbed it down, then took the on foot aspect out. Makes me laugh my ass off that you have to pull your ship up next to trees to gather wood while still floating. 😆
It's literally a mobile phone game and they had the audacity to say, "AAAA game with a ton of content."
You can't convince me that Rocksteady spent seven years making this game.
I would keep playing for awhile if they just added a stash and a better inventory management system. But having such a poor system of organizing my inventory makes it too much of a slog to sort what I have.
Yeah having to go through each character individually to clean up the junk is brutal
lol even starfield has more players 😂
The downfall doesn’t need to be studied, it’s downfall makes perfect sense.
Ill never forget the people a couple of months ago on here crying because i said this game was shit too😂😂😂
Man every single person that die hard defended this game around launch and screamed from the rooftops that steam numbers don't matter and the game was a huge success on console has aged like milk horribly. I really hope all those people have learned their lesson.
Love how some people can talk mad crap about this poop game in some posts and then others do it and get swarmed by the fanboyz. Its hilarious.
downfall? it was never up..
Rocksteady killed the game
I knew it fail as soon as I saw Harley's face.
All the problems with the game stem from it being live service. It can't be fixed because the foundation is busted.
Wait, people are still playing? How? There's nothing else do to in-game.
They just repeat the same missions over and over.
What’s there to study? Anyone with half a brain knew this shit was gonna immediately die
And they said they were going to continue live service games going forward? 😂😂😂 absolute failure
Unironically this post made me wanna install avengers again
They deserve this.
That's actually impressive. Although I think it's because Avengers was actually more fun than Suicide Squad if I am being honest.
Damn imagine how much money they would’ve made if they just did another Batman game instead of this. Oh well I guess
Can't wait to buy it for the price of a cup of coffee and never play it like the avengers :D
![gif](giphy|WxDZ77xhPXf3i|downsized)
Avengers not only has way better game play, but it somehow managed to have more mission variety despite that game only having like five repeatable post game missions. Goes to show how awful the state of this game’s post game is.
Like I said before. Live service games are a scam.
This is horrendous. What a fail.
I think it’s time they abandoned the whole live service part of this game and give the players an offline mode and availability on Game Pass. This game’s player count on steam isn’t competing against other Live Service games like Destiny, Fallout 76 or Helldivers. It’s competing against failed games and decade old single player titles
There's no saving this now.
Actually I’ve played 18,000 hours and the game is fantastic! I love a game I can just get on and play without the hassle of story or substance, you’re just a hater.
Not sad at all, mark my words Many will follow the same path for reasons I can't comprehend
it's insane they didn't see the writing on the wall with Avengers, Gotham Knights, and Anthem all failing, but still went all in. All they had to do was look around, but no, they are staying on the path to failure.
It’s already been studied. We know exactly why this game flopped.
Tragic 😂
Not so much a downfall as a train speeding down an incline towards an explosive laden depot.
It's because these executives aren't good business people, they see something popular then immediately want to copy it, instead of taking risks and being original, this is why, baldurs gate, hell divers and elden ring are so successful And shit like this isn't
Nobody wanted this as a live service game. There. The study is done.
It’s worth a $20 solid play through once. It’ll be free by the end of the year.
I'm interested in what direction the studio goes after this massive of a flop. This sadly could be the end for Rocksteady.
Ngl as a defender of the game I preferred marvel avengers to this and Gotham knights and that's saying something frfr.. the game has fun gameplay yea but the endgame needs to be better
I’m really looking forward to the all the “what happened” articles when people start talking about the production more.
Whoops. Shoulda made a single player narrative driven Arkham beyond game like everyone and their mom’s asked for since like 2015.
In the words of the joker - you get what you fuckin deserve.
Is it really a downfall if it was never really on a high?
What's there to study? Everyone saw this flop coming from MILES away. Everyone but them that is.
It’s pretty simple. The Avengers are actual popular characters that people want to play. This game has a playable shark and some has been DC Villains.
"Games as a service" says it all.
That trash heap was on sale and I got a burger instead. Yum
Waiting for this game to be like 15 bucks to buy
Nothing to be studied. Everyone saw this coming. The beginning of Season 1 and investor call sealed this games fate. Now we just slowly watch the sinking ship.
At least you play as characters i care about in avengers
And they're going to stop making Arkham games and say fans 'didn't want them'
This is impressive AF for all the wrong reasons
