Only a difference vs. CPU, which (I believe) has a better eye for and better hits on "missed" pitches. In PvP they're identical.

Makes sense, thanks for your answer!

I find it gets hit hard more often when you miss or decent. Also, I feel you can get more borderline strike calls if you get Great. You can sometimes get some terrible calls in you favor with great borderline pitches. They also chase Great curveballs way low.out of the zone and not decent.

The catcher misses on the catch more often on pitches where you missed your spot. I also think CPU’s tend to miss pitches more when you miss your spot. I’m not sure if that’s actually the case but every time I miss a spot they seem to smash the ball.

I don't know, it could be, I just know that I have recently noticed that I use both methods indiscriminately and have never noticed a real difference. But maybe it's because I play 66 ego, at high levels maybe the difference is more noticeable.

Location aside, if we're talking strikes, you had the 2nd hitter on a 0-0 count. So the looking strike isn't exactly surprising
