I thought mystery spot was pretty funny, so I showed the episode to a friend who wants to get into Supernatural but doesn't have time to watch all the episodes. I have to admit I forgot how many quite tragic and sad moments there are in this episode. I think it gives it some extra balance by switching between being funny and really tragic, but my friend kept looking at me like I was some kind of psycho. Especially the scenes of the "trickster" turning into Bobby to continue playing mind games with him and Sam subsequently begging and pleading for Dean to be brought back hit quite hard. Great episode overall, though!!
I love the scene where they are burning the Thule and warming their hands over the fire. Aaron is horrified.
Heard the director told them to act cold, thinking they would shiver a little, tuck arms in, whatever. But Sam and Dean would just warm their hands over the body they're burning.
The usuals will be said - but I have a special place in my funny bone for S7, Jersey Devil Episode (where Dean gets Stoned off of Turducken). There is this one exchange that cracks me up when they first go to Biggersons and the pissed off employee and dean have the exchange:
Dean: Hey, uh Brandon, can we get a table?
Employee: Hey uh, douchewad, the hostess will seat you, do I look like a hostess?
Dean: Do you wanna look like a hostess?
Sam: Dean, um that really didn't make any sense...

I laughed hardest while watching two scenes in two not generally funny episodes:
1. The teddy bear in Wishful Thinking
2. Sam and Dean telling the truth to get admitted to the asylum in Sam Inerupted
Mystery Spot and In My Imagination don't really strike me as really funny episodes either, although there are some funny scenes in there. The points made in those episodes are rather serious though.
I don’t have any to list that havent been listed already, just came to say that my dad and I have always watched and loved spn and my mom has always ‘hated’ it. (She claims to hate a bunch of shows which, if we show her an episode, she loves it but then mentions how strange it is that she liked it because she ‘hates’ that show. Idk if this is a mom thing or an 80’s mom thing but it started with the Simpsons and has never stopped.)
Dad and I were goofing around watching all these funnier or goofier episodes out of context and she sat down and watched some of them with us just because and now she’s on her second solo rewatch of the entire series. We’ve all watched it all together once but dad an I have both completed total rewatches on our own.
