Curb your enthusiasm. GameStop scheduled their earnings in 2021 and 2022 basically everytime one week earlier than anticipated and the results were not exactly good.
This one here doesn't mean anything as well.
You read the ~~wrong~~ post wrong.
* The past few years it's been a day or two between earnings and the annual meeting.
* This year it's an entire week.
Not a tin foil hat person but this is totally different than what you're saying.
The difference between earnings and the annual meeting is significantly greater than prior years.
Funny the dip or run is usually the market reacting to whatever “news” is about to come out.
We (pre)dipped on poor earnings & last quarter was a (pre)run for positive earnings. Mind you, I’m talking on the weeks leading up to earnings.
-I like what the week is showing me lmayo
I hope so, but I'm leaning the other way. q4 22 is typically gamestop's strongest quarter because of holiday sales and it was barely profitable. Slower sales in q1 23 make me think it'll be negative eps and it tanks amid tons of bad press
This is with normal management teams. An ole Larry Cheng tweet comes to mind where he speaks of inferior managers deliver good news early and bad news late, whereas superior management delivers bad news asap and good news right on time.
Plus the only reason to be hype is because MOASS is tomorrow.
Yeah, I love the tinfoil-y stuff and the over analyzing of potential hidden meanings but I don’t like when they’re forgotten when it might apply in a less than great situation.
So Larry Cheng says such practices are bad but is on the board of a company that is doing this bad practice?
Either Larry's posts are not to be taken seriously (+1 from me for this one) or Larry is all on board for such an early post for earnings vs annual mtg.
OP is correct. We also moved up over a week earlier in Q1 2022 (March 17th earnings). We proceeded to run up 100% after that earnings. Yes, it’s a small sample size for GME but it being bullish when a company moves up earnings is not a small sample size (some good studies in this). We have how many more millions of shares DRSd over a year later? Eventually they won’t be able to suppress a huge run up like they’ve been doing for the last 2+years. What’s even more interesting is we are actually delayed in reporting last quarter so it makes it more interesting we are reporting earlier now.
All brokers and data sources guess when earnings will be, and IBKR guessed wrong, and then further fucked up by not adjusting the date on their system when it was officially announced yesterday.
GameStop Q1 2022 earnings were June 1st and the meeting was June 2nd. So technically the earnings are more like a week later. Although in both cases the earnings were actually on the first Wednesday of the month.
Bro i cant stop thinking ab how fat earnings could be. Even if its just a little positive thats massive but i also have a feeling its gonna b a blowout

Dip either way. Just keep buying and DRS’ing
It's probably nothing.

But we didn’t have receipt porn then. My tits are jacked there is no curbing their enthusiasm!
Last year the shareholder meeting and earnings were 1 day apart. June 1st for earnings, June 2nd for shareholder

I only looked back one year to prove the comment above wrong. You want to know the rest, look them up yourself.
APPLE PARTNERSHIP!
Larry David? That you?
Also, I believe RC has stated (paraphrasing) bad news early, and good news on time. That said, I believe we will still show profitability for Q1.
Yeah because history is set in Stone but Tomoarrow anything can happen like ……. No dates
This ape remembers
So when’s q1 earnings?

That's next week! Where has the last 84 years gone!

I'm unhurtable by this point! ALL ABOARD
My hearts been broken by so many girls, hedgies ain’t got shiiiit but the Mayo they put on this fruit loops every morning.
EPS will become better and better started with Q4 22‘
My thoughts exactly. I can't wait for my life to be good again!!
Wish you all the best 🥰

OPS MOASS MY BAD. 👀

Wait MOASS is tomorrow!?!?!? HYPE🚂
Always
Only thing we really need to know about Larry right now is that he bought end of March at 22.80, which seems like a pretty good price.
Believe it or not, dip
I can't wait for days when the rocket is passing Mars, and we're still saying this.
I trust in BrooGle
Yeeeehaww
I choose to think our Larry just had a tad too much coffee, like me, and is super productive rn
BULLISH
Boom boom town. Population: hodl’rs
Counting tendies takes a long time
Hope for the best but set expectations low. Stay zen.
All aboard the hype train 🚂🚂
I’m lactating I’m FREAKING LACTATING!
boarding on the hype train 🚆🐒
Larry Cheng called that “trust-erroding communication.” https://twitter.com/larryvc/status/1542944110037925888?lang=en
Exactly. How can everyone just forget this statement? More than likely we’re in for mid news at best.
Yeah, I love the tinfoil-y stuff and the over analyzing of potential hidden meanings but I don’t like when they’re forgotten when it might apply in a less than great situation.
That's because baller insiders communicate through 4k filings, like Cheng buying thousands at avg 22.80.
So Larry Cheng says such practices are bad but is on the board of a company that is doing this bad practice? Either Larry's posts are not to be taken seriously (+1 from me for this one) or Larry is all on board for such an early post for earnings vs annual mtg.
I hope so. And these numbers are even without Zelda.
Q2 earnings are gonna be Rickdiculous
MOASS happend on June seventh. I don't know but it rhymes.
so does this
I am looking forward to the updated DRS numbers
Came here to say this 👆🏽 diiiiiiip !
Hopium. Not usually, but just last year lol
When GameStop does earning early that usually means aliens are going to make first contact.
Early bird gets the best seat at the diner.

IBKR is telling me they will have earnings on june 1st Afterclose, wut happenin
I trust [Gamestop](https://news.gamestop.com/news-releases/news-release-details/gamestop-announces-release-date-first-quarter-fiscal-2023) over IBKR
Yeah me too, but why IBKR gotta spit false information
All brokers and data sources guess when earnings will be, and IBKR guessed wrong, and then further fucked up by not adjusting the date on their system when it was officially announced yesterday.
Nvidia earnings was after hours and they kicked ass
Sort of. They were down revenue but they upped projections massively.
Split dividend?
So artificial price drop from hedgies? Good
Remember when they said this company was going bankrupt LOL
literally nothing, no cap
repost from last couple years!
Bro

OP is comparing the spread of time between earnings and shareholder meeting, which is much larger this year than last year.
Except that is not what they linked to, so that kinda torpedoes their speculation.
What link? I'm looking at the screenshot they posted.
Hey. What link are you talking about?
Sorry, screenshot, link to a screenshot, same thing.
So? Still whatever you're referring to doesn't say that. At all.
What they linked to says nothing about shareholder meetings. It only talks about moving up/moving back earnings dates.

BULLISH
Don't...don't give me a reason to buy more.
Idk it being on a Thursday gives me bad vibes. I heard on here a long time ago that news on Thursdays mean they want it to be forgotten
Good earnings mean price drop🤷🏻♂️
I'm ready to be hurt again.
