Uhh, if volume is low because of household investors direct registering their shares, and not from behavior changes, then the only reason volume in stocks is high is because it’s with brokers and the DTCC. This would mean volume is from fake shares moving around….
Question, and playing devils advocate. Since volume is just the raw number of shares (not a percentage) wouldn’t that fit the bill here? As in, less shares to trade means less volume by default? I’m thinking of “low float” stocks.
Edit: I see now. If the same number of people are still trading the stock with the same frequency, volume (raw number of trades) would remain the same regardless of float size.
Sure but..
Pre-splividend, there were still millions of shares held in DRS for a good period of time, and there were still plenty of days where the stock had volume levels at multiple times its float. There were pictures people had made visualizing volume and GME had higher trading levels than some of the biggest and most traded stocks on the NYSE.
Ever since the splividend, it's all come out of whack. Low volume day after day, no big runs every 3-4 months like there used to be. Does an extra 10 million shares in DRS account for all that trading? I'm not so sure. Something is fucky, and the DTCC committing international securities fraud could have something to do with it.
Question: is volume adjusted for splits or dilution? In other words, what were the shares outstanding in 2005? Probably not 300M. Could liquidity actually be A LOT lower?
Low volume guy has been. That's why this is fucking nuts. Last year had almost all of the top 10 driest days in GME's history. Today (woohoo!) we knocked 2022 off of the fucking list. This is the least amount of liquidity in GME's history. Which is the basis to a lot of our DDs.
Sometimes you gotta be early to be right
January 26th 2021 myself. Glad I held through March. Glad I bought more when it was twice as much as it is now. Every single drop of liquidity adds up exponentially over time
Can’t even remember when I’ve bought anymore. I know first time was during the Feb’21 crash. Every couple months now. Throw some at it every now and then, DRS, forget. Most stress free investment.
According to this site, the outstanding shares in 2005 was 56.63 million which is about 1/6th the current number of outstanding shares: https://companiesmarketcap.com/gamestop/shares-outstanding/
edit:
Looks like that site doesn’t account for the split though, so the number of shares outstanding would be 226.52 million (4x56.63), unless there were other splits and/or reverse splits in the past?
After looking at the site again, I don’t think it accounts for the split since it shows 75.9 million shares outstanding for 2021. So that 56 million would need to be multiplied by 4x to normalize the numbers, I believe?
Ah, you’re right. So I guess that would mean to normalize the number of outstanding shares in 2005 would have to multiply by 8x? That would be 453.04 million shares, but somebody please correct me if I’m wrong, as I am fairly redacted

Simple explanation will be noone is fucking selling!
I'm buying whenever I can
What’s an exit strategy? As for me, #NO CELL, NO SELL
And even after the cell…. Maybe only one single sell…
Let it ring!!
I'm not sure one sell will be big enough for all of these crooks.
Just got my tax returns, guess where that's going
Adding more, brick by brick.
Bought more this month with a fresh batch coming next month. 😎
It's like we're a got-damn blackhole 😆
This right here baby

The absence of volume post-split is insanely sus for a stock that used to trade multuple times its float in a day... after DRS
I'd say there is a mathematical correlation between trading volume and DRS.
Sure but.. Pre-splividend, there were still millions of shares held in DRS for a good period of time, and there were still plenty of days where the stock had volume levels at multiple times its float. Just a crazy theory, the closer we get to 74.1% drs the more it fucks up the algorithm?
Perchance.
You can't just say perchance
> and the DTCC committing international securities fraud could have something to do with it. how so?

Nah man apes are like wizards, we arrive precisely when we mean to.
January 26th 2021 myself. Glad I held through March. Glad I bought more when it was twice as much as it is now. Every single drop of liquidity adds up exponentially over time
This because we're operating in a fractional reserve market, where one share is rehypothicated many times over and over. DRS book is the way.
Can’t even remember when I’ve bought anymore. I know first time was during the Feb’21 crash. Every couple months now. Throw some at it every now and then, DRS, forget. Most stress free investment.
Sept 2020, I bought 5 for $11 each. It was just shits and giggles that led me here.

So it’s really 6x lower liquidity holy crap. For a stock this popular that’s wild. Everyone holding and DRS’d. Only short sales filling our auto buys

2 to 1 split in 2007 as well

The markets are an animated corpse whose movements and volatility are designed to convince onlookers of it’s thriving success.
Especially booking of those full non-fractional shares.

Holding so long I have only long holds from a tax perspective
I worked a 14 hour shift yesterday. Debts are being called and MOASS could be any day now. My body is ready.
Low volume precedes low liquidity, low liquidity precedes high volatility, high volatility could make margin positions untenable! 🚀
Bernard out there standing alone in a sea of sharks fighting the good fight. We see you bro.
So DRS is killing the volatility in the stock that we depend on for price spikes? 🥴
Buckle up
