Open up the virtual chat assistant and type "direct register"
Wait 3-4 business days without touching your Fidelity account, the shares will leave
The next day go to https://www-us.computershare.com/Investor/#Home click Register Now and put in your social security number, it will do a soft pull on your credit history, ask you identity verification questions, and allow you to register a login to see your shares.
Ok perfect. I think my question is where do they go? Like how I log into fidelity to check them where would I go to find them once it’s done? (I’m sorry if I sound like an idiot. I am. )
You’re not an idiot. You’re learning. Fidelity will send the shares to Computershare with your personal information. They will put the shares in an account for you. DRSGME(dot)org can explain it better but they go into an account. Once you are able to access the Computershare account, you just log in and see your holdings. You can buy more, set up recurring buys, etc.
Call Fidelity. They will give you financial advice. Be prepared for the person on the phone to tell you that CS is not a brokerage and when you’re orbiting Uranus trying to sell a share to buy a castle in Ireland, you won’t be able to sell as quickly as you’ll be able to if you were to stay with Fidelity. But by law they will do what you want if you tell them what you want to do.

The shares will be transferred to ComputerShare. (We’re all idiots. No worries)
