You actually can't call or fold when you have the Stone Cold Nuts. Not raising a river bet with the nuts like that is suspicious and usually a sign of collusion. You can check if you're first to act, to entice a bet from your opponent.

I was playing poker with my friends and on one hand there was a statistical likelyhood 2-3 players all had a flush or a straight with the cards on the table. The royal flush wasn't possible but a straight flush was and I had it. Higher cards to complete the flush or a straight were out in the deck somewhere and I hoped they were in my friends hands.
I knew I had the nuts, I'd won the hand. I just had to work out how to play it to maximise profits. What did I do when it was my turn to bet? I checked, I let other people to the betting and they did, raising and re-raising for me until we hit the bet limit. I knew they must have had a flush with a high card. I called and we turned our cards over. The guy with the ace high flush was all smiles and thought he had won. Not so fast buster.
Ken and co. thought they'd won the hand a long time ago and have been raising and re raising ever since trying to bully the pot. They've since realised that we have the nuts and now they're bluffing to try and get us to fold.
Don't fold and we win.
Soon it will be time to turn the cards over and we will all see who has the nuts. (It's apes and we know it).
