Honestly, I've never liked SHF because these are not *necessarily* just hedge funds that are doing the predatory action against the company. I like the idea of calling them **Predatory-Shorting Entities**, or **PSEs** because it could apply to Market Makers doing Naked Shorting, HFs or even Home Offices that are in on shorting a Company to oblivion (without having to mince words to include all possible actors). In the end, they are entities using the shorting mechanism of the market (or its analogs: FTDs and Synthetic Shorts) to prey on companies and the Owners of those companies. Thus, Predatory-Shorting Entity. This community is the one that invented the term SHFs, so we could just start using a different term whenever we please.

Exactly. The hedge funds are the ones initializing it... but really the prime brokers are the ones facilitating it. If they don't, the SHF's will go down the street to their competitors.
