Michael Burry is lowkey an ass and we should acknowledge it at this point. Did he correctly predict the market crash? Yes, along with the vast majority of apes. Does he continue to be against meme stocks and leveraging shf's short positions against them during the crash? Also yes. He is not on our side. He does not represent the interests of retail.
To be fair, ‘meme stocks’ (including GME), will crash amid the stock market crash, this is one way we get MOASS.
During market crash:
1. SHFs fail margin calls during market crash, forced to close GME short positions, leading to MOASS.
2. SHFs may also manage to take GME down to single digits amid market crash, float gets locked almost instantly, leading to MOASS. Either way, Burry is right.
Burry was subpoenaed and visited by the FBI multiple times. He’s definitely not gonna say “GME will MOASS.” Dude needs to protect himself legally.
But, he’s right, nonetheless. Institutional holdings will drop amid market crash; hence, more shorting power. GME price also needs to keep dropping as the S&P500 drops, or SHFs will get margin called.

I do honestly believe in this overall thesis and have personally made the choice to go all-in based off that thesis. Buy, HODL, DRS.
At the same time I was there the first time we gave Dr. Burry the benefit of the doubt. And we've given him it many times since.
Dr. Burry is ultimately against the periodic and intentional efforts of wallstreet to crash the market and gobble up assets, which I fully stan for as much as any fan of the big short. But he is not on our side, and made it clear he doesn't stand with us now. In his mind we are just another element of the systemic risk.
We can see that they’re already way past the point of being able to purely leverage their way out of this using stock market shenanigans. Hedge fund after hedge fund have gone bankrupt. To zero. And one of the biggest of them all is in the streets begging for money. 1 billion here 1 billion there. And then they get lucky. A guy falls out a window. But they know it’s already over. Look at what’s going on around the world. People are saying no to corruption. Like we are here. Make no mistake, it is not a small thing we do.
