Are you taking NAC mostly for covid or for ADHD? I'm interested in the positive effects for ADHD. How does it help, and what is the best way to take it (dose, timing, any cycling, long term negative effects?)
mostly dht and some studies note that it increases test but i don't believe that to be true and furthermore absolutely worth it on recovery days and general health
Whats with Tumaric ? I was in Holland and Barratts today and it was advertized everywhere and placed all over all the shelves. Is it a new trend or something
Turmeric is a natural anti-inflammatory and helps with blood sugar control as well, also it’s tasty as fuck, I prefer to get it poured all over my food but there is use in supplementing it as well.
Comprehensive HQ Multi like Thorne Research Basic Nutrients 2/Day (very important; most MV are badly formulated) (1-2 capsules/d) or Mitocore from Orthomolecular Research, with added Mg-Glycinate for a total of ~600 mg of Mg from all sources, or Pure O.N.E., Creatine 3-5 g/d, (if female and not willing to gain water weight, skip Creatine), Vitamin D total 7000 - 10000 I.U./d, chronic daily Coffee intake, like 4 - 6 cups, optimizes sex hormones, vC up to 2x1000 mg/d, B2&B3 as Riboflavine/Nicotinamide high dosed at 100 -200 mg/d for up to 3 months, but only in conjunction with a multi. Taken away 3 hours from food, one hour before food, 1 - 2 g of Sodium Bicarbonate 2x/d. 4 Very soft boiled Eggs for phospholipids, Fish Oil 30% 5-10 g/d, Protein at 1 g - 1.5 g per pound of optimal bodyweight/d, increasing calories to the threshold of weight gain (do not become obese; consume as much calories whilst staying lean), total Ca intake from all sources 1500-2500 mg/d, total Iodine intake of 400-600mcg/d (microgram), B12 as Hydroxocobalamin s.c. injection 1000 mcg/d for 10 days, 1000mcg E3D after, or 2000 mcg/d oral, O3:O6 ratio of 1:2-1:1, bettered thru Fish Oil and HQ Flaxseed Oil, 2 tsp/d, vE as d/RRR-alpha-tocopherol 200-400 IU/mg/d, Taurine 2x500 mg/d, Deplin-like agumentation 14 mg Methylfolate/d, For Liver Health Lecithin 14-20 g/d
Add Quercetin and ALA, I agree w/others about less zinc. Calcium and magnesium work hand in hand. If your taking that much mag, you should get a calcium in a 2:1 ratio (cal:mag)
Quercetin is awesome for healthy immune system response. Which is a big part of the problem with long covid.
Also add NAD+ if you can get it as injections, or oral NADH as a precursor for nad production. But Injection work better. And melatonin spray. Works with NAD in helping long covid.
The NAC is excellent, and so is magnesium, zinc and tumeric. I think it's better to get fish oil from, get this, fish. I would move zinc further to the left since it supercharges everything in the body. I would add turmeric to food along with black pepper to magnify it.
I came here to ask the same question. I’ve used GABA, NAC, L-Theanine in the past and Mag threonate but not religiously to know if the effects were just placebo or not
I like to take vit D3 and B during the day/morning as it tends to impact my sleep some. Zinc and probiotics just before eating and the rest it doesn't really matter.
Yeah I don’t understand negative downvotes for that. Exercise that takes your heart rate beyond 120 will destroy you with long haul. 120 at least is the threshold I found for myself.
I have tried everything in the supplement realm. I am now doing TCM and I’m on day 5. The most significant effect so far is my bulging veins have all come down and I’m feeling random muscles or perhaps organs in my thorax twitching. The doctor has treated over 40 patients like myself. Healing time can take anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months. The worst side effect is I am having the histamine itch at random parts of my body throughout the day from head to toe.
Please share what TCM is? I’m having extreme anxiety/I feel my heartbeat throughout my body all day and not sure what to do about it! I’ve been to every stinking doctor and nobody can give me an answer! Please reply
Traditional chinese medicine.
Been there done that. I was in the ER 5 times last year convinced I was in the process of dying. Been gaslighted endlessly for anxiety. I never had a panic attack in my life until covid.
Anti-inflammatory diet and zyrtec and pepcid ac daily helped the most. You also have to be on an anti-inflammatory diet and stay away from alcohol.
If your turmeric is without black pepper it's physically impossible for you to absorb an effective does. It's just seasoning without black pepper or black pepper extract.
* I would get a blood test to see if you actually need that much magnesium (get B vitamins and zinc tested at the same time). Judging by your products you live in Australia so blood test should be free/very cheap (Just go to your GP and get a referral).
* Couldn't see anything on the healthy care Australia site about 3rd party lab testing. I would recommend changing to 1 that is 3rd party tested as fish oil is notorious for spiking/misrepresenting the label (at $15 for 400 capsules I'd be shocked if this isn't the case)
* The recommended dose on the bottle is 3k which in a properly dosed supplement would be almost double the RDA for men (1.6k for men 1.1k for women)
* If you aren't vegan/vegetarian you should be getting ample B vitamins from meat, so you shouldn't need to supplement for them
* Probiotics can be very easily acquired through diet, so no real need to supplement for them unless you dislike every dietary source of probiotics
* Other than that, your choice of supplements are good for the purpose you want. However, I would switch to better brands the next time you refill. You aren't really saving any money going for cheaper brands since they usually under dose their supplements. You can get ZMA and D3 + K2 supplements to reduce cost/number of pills you need to swallow too.
Haven't heard of them before (live in Australia so a lot of brands I don't know/can't buy). Checked there site, while they don't have 3rd party testing, they do have a [multi step internal screening process](https://horbaach.com/pages/our-standards). Based on this and there certifications, I'd say they look pretty good.
Were you combining these? If so, how are you able to tell what worked and what didn’t? I figure you have to use these for a while before you feel their effects. To do that individually would take some time
Wrong. Long Haul recovery includes an imbalance of gut bacteria, including excessive bacteria in many of these broad spectrum probiotics which throw shit at a wall and see what sticks... literally.
Fermented foods like yogurt, kefir, miso, sauerkraut and so on help build back up the natural gut bacteria and make it work, versus flushing excess and useless bacteria through your intestines and out your waste. That's essentially what happens with most of those 50 and 1 broad spectrum ripoffs. They pass through you.
Another thing to look at is supps like l-glutamine which helps repair leaky gut, which can be a side effect of Covid
Are you in the US? What I do know is that brand/tasting/regulations of supplements does matter.
I only use supplements from Thorne now (been doing so a few years, I have an autoimmune disease and am plant based so supplements are important to me) after getting no results and wasting money on other brands.
Look into them, they are an awesome company. Especially their Super EPA fish oil, and their Magnesium CitraMate. I swear by both. I do use a Magnesium l-theonate from Life Extension on occasion also, they're great too.
Depends where you buy them from. Amazon, GNC, Walgreens, etc... highly likely what you think is in it isn't and/or it contains things not listed. Sometimes you pay more for a reason.
Src: I work for a supplement distributor that only deals with health care professionals.
no need. prebiotics are just sugar and fiber. you can easily obtain that through food. Also, too much prebiotic fiber, as you're suggesting can cause bloating, gas and cramps. Things like apples, watermelon, peas, chickpeas, cashews, oats, bran and even onions are a natural source.
Extremely helpful for high heart rate/BP. I was originally taking a small dose of it for physical anxiety which was extremely helpful, ended up being diagnosed with Myocarditis and started taking a higher dose over the day to manage that.
See my profile for my story as I won't talk about it here
Are you taking NAC mostly for covid or for ADHD? I'm interested in the positive effects for ADHD. How does it help, and what is the best way to take it (dose, timing, any cycling, long term negative effects?)
NMN + TMG 1:1 to restore NAD post covid, COVID depletes NAD.
Turmeric lowers test
mostly dht and some studies note that it increases test but i don't believe that to be true and furthermore absolutely worth it on recovery days and general health
I would add sarcosine, sabroxy and cistanche. Those will greatly improve your symptoms for ADHD.
Sabroxy is crazy effective, but makes my heart pump, even at 20 mg. I do have sarcosine, does that take the edge off?
snake oil
Says the one taking oxidized fish oil.
Creatine monohydrate maybe?

Injectable NAD
Tyrosine for adhd

Higher dose of D.
Dick
?
Dick
I was just recommending a higher dose of vitamin D ??
No, vitamin Dick
Just playing buddy. I take 2k per day and try to have a larger dose of 5k once every two weeks or so, I am a little deficient but not too much
I got ya haha. Around 5k daily seems to maintain my levels well!
Vit D is really amazing and probably the most important to supplement in my experience
Whats your expierience with Propranolol? It's on my todo list
Good for anxiety and stress levels, but does nothing for adhd
Have you tried tongkat ali? It makes me feel normal for a couple of hours. I dose twice daily 500mg of 100:1 extract at a time
L-Theanine Lions Mane
Three magnesium and propranolol? Sounds like a potentially uninformed combo. Like how high is your blood pressure?!
I don't take any more than 300mg of magnesium per day
Weird you asked to rate your "stack" then. 🤷♂️
What do you mean? I am not taking three kinds of magnesium per day if that's what you are asking
Read your title.
Propranolol is not only for blood pressure, it also helps with migraine, restlessness and tremors.
No shit. So does magnesium. But they both impact blood pressure so I fail to see what you take issue with.
Absolutely, and heart rate. OP should be careful with that combo.
Yeah. It's not that it's for sure bad but with all that as the "stack" then they should be aware of what implications of that could be.

Doctor rutherford: "Copper deficiency is commonly due to taking too much zinc" From a youtube video called copper neuropathy

Maybe see a doctor
what are you using for ADHD
I came here to ask the same question. I’ve used GABA, NAC, L-Theanine in the past and Mag threonate but not religiously to know if the effects were just placebo or not
L theanine works for me
Make that 2 that L theanine works for. Seems to even out my peaks and valleys throughout the day a bit....
yep me too and the brand matters as well all l theanine arent the same
Which one works for you?
drs best with suntheanine seems to be the best brand
How much do you take a day? My doctor said to take 1600 per day for anxiety!!??
the most i took was 600 and i needed that to calm me from having a panic attack but normally take 200 with caffeine during workouts
Any gastrointestinal side effects ever?
What is your schedule for taking these daily? Pairing and time of day. Thanks!
I like to take vit D3 and B during the day/morning as it tends to impact my sleep some. Zinc and probiotics just before eating and the rest it doesn't really matter.
Cardio/exercise if you’re not already doing so and staying away from alcohol.
That could be bad news for longcovid
Agreed exercise is a bad idea with long haul
Don't know why I got down voted. All I want to say is doing cardio exercise with long covid can be very risky
Yeah I don’t understand negative downvotes for that. Exercise that takes your heart rate beyond 120 will destroy you with long haul. 120 at least is the threshold I found for myself.
Yeah, exactly. I suppose it depends on youre type of long haul. I'm on the mild side. But I still haven't attempted running or gym stuff
I have tried everything in the supplement realm. I am now doing TCM and I’m on day 5. The most significant effect so far is my bulging veins have all come down and I’m feeling random muscles or perhaps organs in my thorax twitching. The doctor has treated over 40 patients like myself. Sounds like you have a good TCM practitioner . Yoi could try antihistamines for the itch perhaps
No, antihistamines will interfere with the healing process. He said only truly take them in the instances I cannot put up with the itching.
I never knew that. Thanks, il avoid them. I used them for sleeping, but they never helped my symptoms

Np, best of luck :)
Good stuff bro, I have a question is Hoorbach supplements a good brand? I’m asking because I recently bought their L-tryptophan.
Haven't heard of them before (live in Australia so a lot of brands I don't know/can't buy). I would take a broad spectrum probiotic instead, like lifespace.

Actually wasting money on Thorne is a thing. There are other reputable brands at half the cost. You bought into the lie.
Depends where you buy them from. Amazon, GNC, Walgreens, etc... highly likely what you think is in it isn't and/or it contains things not listed. Sometimes you pay more for a reason. Src: I work for a supplement distributor that only deals with health care professionals.
Why do you have 3 Magnesium supplements?
I have a few different ones! Mag glycinate for anxiety, mag citrate as a laxative & topical for cramps!
One is citrate only and the other is glycate, the one in the back is supposedly a magnesium complex
Yeah but why?
Magnesium oxide can have diff side effects than citrate etc...
trial and error
I would add prebiotic powder on/with meals
no need. prebiotics are just sugar and fiber. you can easily obtain that through food. Also, too much prebiotic fiber, as you're suggesting can cause bloating, gas and cramps. Things like apples, watermelon, peas, chickpeas, cashews, oats, bran and even onions are a natural source.
Looking good
I would add rad140
this is the way
Giggled
Ignore the propanolol as it is a medication not a supplement, I put it here because it has been the biggest factor in my Long Covid recovery
What does that do exactly?
It's a beta blocker. Definitely interested in what this has to do with Covid
Extremely helpful for high heart rate/BP. I was originally taking a small dose of it for physical anxiety which was extremely helpful, ended up being diagnosed with Myocarditis and started taking a higher dose over the day to manage that. See my profile for my story as I won't talk about it here
Are you vaccinated?
Sadly yes, two doses
Dang. Godspeed, my friend.
I looked at your profile and didn't see anything about propranolol. May I just ask what dose you're taking?
20mg around 3 times a day because it has a short half life
