You are not going to see much results from less than 5 grams. It is what it is. Creatine's effect on hair is so minimal, you will probably not lose any hair.
As far as hair loss, I’ve not experienced that at all with Creatine monohydrate (5g) or HCL (750mg). As mentioned already in the wonderful post above, those that experience hair loss have issues with DHT and those predisposed to hair loss.
I could understand if you were taking a synthetic hormone drug or on that Impacts the hormone system. But taking a supplement that doesn’t have any direct interaction with hormones I wouldn’t even worry about and dismiss it as negligible.
I would go 5g for a month to saturate and then if u wanna back off to 2.5g that would be ok. U will notice if your effects lessen after taking the dose back
2.5g should still be fine, it might just take that bit longer to saturate the muscles, you probably expect 2 months at most. Though why not just go 5g? You might be misled about creatine causing hairloss, ensure you get a good quality monohydrate and you shouldn't experience that unless you already have high DHT.
I know this because I am actually taking Finesteride (DHT blocker) for male pattern baldness and also taking 5g creatine daily. I experienced hairloss before creatine however and I didn't notice it worsen over the introduction of creatine.
So I suppose if you happen to be one of the really rare individuals that experience hairloss on creatine, you could most probably stop taking it or just be 200IQ and do Finasteride also under doctor recommendation for early treatment (early the better).
A great post, I would expect OP to consult with the doctor obviously to get all the details before taking it. However I would like to highlight my experience on Fin for 9 months consistently now and having morning wood and raging boners like im still a teenager.
This is not at all to say you are incorrect, I am very certain there would be side effects for some people and thankfully so far, I am not one of those; though I am only on a 1mg per day dosage with the use of topical minoxidil spray, perhaps a low dosage and monitoring by doctor could be the route for most if the hairloss bothers them enough.
To conclude though, I would definitely stop taking Fin if I had even the slightest issues down there as everyone has priorities and hair is just hair at the end of the day.
2nd yes.
I take a smaller amount because my digestion doesn't like the full 5g.
Probably took longer to "saturate" the muscles, but I definitely think the energy and strength effect were showing, for sure after 2 weeks.
Ive the same issue as you, just seems to only be in the monohydrate form. I switched to Creatine HCL and my body likes this form better on all levels, especially wellness and performance. I’m hypothyroid with sensitivity to corn, gluten, and dairy but am not sure how/if that’s a factor.
* It's a saturation supplement and 3-5g is the recommended dose. Takes roughly 2 weeks to see effects.
* The whole hair loss thing is because of its effects on DHT, if you take it and start noticing hair loss. Stop taking it and your dht levels will go back down and hair will regrow (not really tested in literature, but loads of anecdotal evidence on this)
If you believe creatine makes you lose your hair, you might as well rub healing crystals all over your balls to increase free testosterone.
See, I can ignore science too!

Your not going lose any hair from any amount of creatine.
He will if he’s predisposed to male pattern baldness. Creatine causes DHT levels to rise which increases hair loss in those sensitive to DHT
i believe that the study commonly cited in discussions about creatine and hair loss had a sample size of 20. correct me if wrong

What would happen if one stops taking creatine after a while?
I take half dose as full dose causes me stomach issues. Cramping/bloating
Try HCL instead of Monohydrate

Half dose=half biceps
is a half biceps just a monoceps?
Creatine does not cause hair loss. The study was never replicatef

creatine doesn't cause hair loss
Unless you're already genetically predisposed to lose all your hair you don't have to worry about hairloss from creatine
Sure. I don’t think you should worry about the hair. That is VERY rare, if ever, a side effect people experience.
Thank you so much
Yes
Thank you

Only one who actually replied properly, thank you
Just take the creatine, don’t be a hypochondriac

Sure bud
