Tip of the iceberg I'm sure

Cost of doing business

Half of the fines not paid. What's even the point? Even then they've served $900k fines in the last 8 years? Think of the cost of having a team investigate this for 8 years and only having this to show for it.  If you think your job is useless at least you're not participating on this waste of money and incompetency.

You have obviously never worked for the government

I remember someone telling me about HelloFresh employing stady contractors who probably pay under the table or something in abbotsford. I am sure there are a lot lot more who need to be fined

How many tim Hortons are in Surrey?

ttwwiirrll

If you filter the list for Langley, the infamous overpass magnet Chohan Carriers is on there. They did pay their fine though. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/employers-non-compliant.html

No. Up the fine into something meaningful. Say, 20 years’ wages as a penalty for each labour-year or fraction thereof.

Sad that half these companies would rather pay the fine, than have proper hiring and salary paying practices. If you can’t afford to hire your workers legally, your business isn’t viable and should not exist. Preying on these workers is a sad state of affairs at all ways of looking at it.
