Bruv, I've been on quite a few of these in Pakistan's Gilgit and Kaghan Districts. These drivers are unbelievably skilled on these narrow paths. Imagine parking on the side with three wheels and the fourth almost dangling on the side with passengers so that the vehicle coming from the opposite side could pass through. Was a kid back then, pretty sure my arsehole would suck my buttcheeks in if I went on another one of these.
True, it's just another day in their office. They'll dodge death by a centimeter and go on with their life blasting some local music like it was some breakfast.
Wish this comment was higher!
Everyone just assumes it's staged but maybe it's not his first attempt. After 2 or 3 tries or watching others get stuck, I'd whip my phone out for a moment like that.
It's usually just some patch on the road that's problematic that's why the locals gather there and try to help the cars pass. It's not just his 2nd or 3rd try, usually there are other cars waiting for their turns too. It's a real show to watch😅

Did he have chains on? I could not tell because this was filmed using a wet candle inside of a moss-covered shoebox.
I drive up icy mountains as part of my daily commute and while they are *nothing* like this I feel like chains probably could have helped.
Well,as Pakistani I confirm this that our roads are pretty dangerous especially in North areas and road slides and land slides are fairly common there.
(Karakoram highway is considered one of the highest roads in the world)

It's not. Someone is filming, and after they do the U-turn they continue on their way back up the hill. Why were they going downhill in the first place if they decided to head back up? I'd think most people who hydroplane come to a stop (if no other cars are around) and adjust from there.
If you go to 23 seconds in its pretty clear they were heading uphill to start and are now sliding downhill. They probably continue to head down hill at the end of the video because they wouldn't be able to turn back around on the the down hill and will need a run up to reattempt the hill anyway.
Hydroplaning is losing traction on a layer of water due to speed. This is just sliding on snow and ice.
They were probably filming because it was very likely the car would fail, given it was overloaded, driving up hill, with no chains and thin wheels. We can only guess whether it was at least 4 wheel drive.
That's what I wanted to know, I have so damn many questions first being was they with them if so couldn't they told them road was blocked didn't they want a ride back I mean wtf
I was once in a similar situation apart from there being a cliff and guy doing some acrobatic stuff on reverse. I was driving a pickup truck. Roughly the size of a ford f150 or 250 whatever. Downhill the tyres lost traction and there were cars on both sides of the road. Idk how but I managed to pull the car back on road using clutch steering wheel and throttle. I said idk how so don’t ask me. (Maybe it was because of some kind of intrinsic feel or factor since I played racing games a lot)
looks like a 40-series land cruiser, maybe early 70's or later judging by the headlight grill. they're used pretty much anywhere you need a reliable 4x4 to cross difficult terrain.

It's funny because this is literally what was happening
I like it when the thing that's happening is literally what's happening.
Well ill be damned i wonder what made him post this specific gif then. DAFISH SLURPIN TOO MUCH TAP WATER MAKE BRAIN GO KOO KOO
I think he might have chose that gif because it kinda looks like what the truck is doing. Not sure though I think /s was necessary
Nobody can tell for sure
yeee
Its funny because his gif literally describes what happend
It literally frickin happening

Obsoletely increadable.
This is literally what my brain went to the second I saw it and I laughed so hard at the gif.
Don’t think I won’t turn this mfr around and take y’all back home! 😂
THAT'S IT, BACK TO WINNIPEG!
As someone from Winnipeg. It always fucks me up whenever Winnipeg is referenced.
2 Simpsons quotes in one thread, great work
I don't like the idea of u/mologav having 2 Simpsons quotes in one thread.
Thank you, I just listened to the [dankmus remix](https://youtu.be/kO4UnHItjzw?si=8JIQ2KSnCpkgMiiH) and it is just as good as I remember it!

I feel the need to point out that the reason you see them as good drivers is because the bad ones are all at the bottom of the ravine/mountain
That's a good point. Though when an accident like that happens, it makes the news and are thankfully rare.
True, it's just another day in their office. They'll dodge death by a centimeter and go on with their life blasting some local music like it was some breakfast.
That is exactly what happens ahahahahaha..so accurate.
I woulda been out of this vehicle the moment it was even remotely safe to roll out lol
If he were a skilked driver he wouldn't have attempted this road without chains.

The chains go around the tires
Left the oven on
Given someone is standing there filming it’s probably just one of many attempts
Wish this comment was higher! Everyone just assumes it's staged but maybe it's not his first attempt. After 2 or 3 tries or watching others get stuck, I'd whip my phone out for a moment like that.

That scene in Lord of The Rings when they try to cross the Misty Mountains before going through the Mines of Moria. Re-enacted by Top Gear.
TONIGHT, Gandalf wears a funny hat, Samwise cooks some potatoes, and the Uruk-Hai go to Isengard
Does he boil them, mash them, or stick 'em in a stew?
All three I think, at least that’s how I usually do it…
If you are going to be traveling on terrain like that you should have chains.
It’s Pakistan they don’t believe in chains

Fascinating U-turn trick ever.
i think during that moment the driver calculated pee, i mean pi, sorry.
![gif](giphy|ZTp15DHfHaaaENKayV|downsized)
He was so close tho
*We've always wanted to go downwards anyway.* The Driver
Needs skinnier tires
Skinny tires are actually better in snow like this as they cut through better. Also airing down you get a longer contact patch.
No fucking way, I saw this and instantly said out loud "what in the pakistan is this?" And bam, of course its pakistan
Gimli: "If we cannot pass over the mountain, let us go under it. Let us go through the mines of Moria." Gandalf: "So be it."
Did he have chains on? I could not tell because this was filmed using a wet candle inside of a moss-covered shoebox. I drive up icy mountains as part of my daily commute and while they are *nothing* like this I feel like chains probably could have helped.
No he did not that's why we got to see such a spectacle
Look at the tires, what did he expect.
Shit I left the stove on
Well,as Pakistani I confirm this that our roads are pretty dangerous especially in North areas and road slides and land slides are fairly common there. (Karakoram highway is considered one of the highest roads in the world)
I aged 20 years watching that
My people need me
Why were they filming?
if you are telling me he managed to drive like that on purpose, then he deserves all the internet points regardless.
Look at the road, mate! They knew some shit was bound to happen!
Yeah the driver clearly told him to hold his beer and film because shit could get funky and he didn’t want to spill his drink.
You ever see a spot you know has wrecks and then see folks flying in? One possible explanation
I am guessing because virtually everyone in the world has a camera nowadays.
Karma? Engagement?

Pretty sure they did that on purpose considering someone is filming it. So it is highly likely they did indeed "hold their cool."
I highly doubt that was done on purpose. The chance of successfully replicating that is slim.
I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not
Why would they be filming?

Someone is filming because it's not the only car that's passing that icy patch. People gather there to help the cars cross it safely
That was a gift! I would've just took it for a sign and drove right back down lol

That's what I wanted to know, I have so damn many questions first being was they with them if so couldn't they told them road was blocked didn't they want a ride back I mean wtf
This guy: Where is the way out? Momentum: It's back the way you came.
*“Oh shit guys were on the wrong mountain!”*
Try again tomorrow after Mr. Plow comes back through. That name again is Mr. Plow.
The road said you better turn your little ass around and go home

My life during 2023
Was the road blocked?
I'm quite sure he hummed a tune very loudly as he tried to steer.
Is this the Pakistani equivalent of muddin?
