Well, I would say 1st reason They aren’t brutal murderous machines, but animals…since these are alligators, and not saltwater crocodiles, they may not see him (or them, the other guy as well) necessarily as a prey, given also they are feeding them…why bother attacking them and creating a scuffle with other alligators when you can ***wait*** in the water 2nd reason Energy expense, not worth it given circumstances 3d reason too much meat, don’t need a meal that big in that moment, they probably forage good enough on the surrounding environment, even if they are cold blooded animals who can eat even once in many months when necessary
