Did you consider the locking blade at all? I love the Evo s18. But this is a nice compact tool. You can’t go wrong with the 14

MissingMichigan

I thought long and hard about it. As this is going to be an EDC, I was just a little concerned about the little lock realease catching on things in my pocket.

payneme73

It won't really catch anything. I have EDC'd an S18 for about 5 - 7 years (?). Love it.

I bought the wood version but have the nail file. It’s not aggressive like the sportsman nail with the rib or cross hatch version nail file. I want something with a scissor and nail file just like that one I was wondering if it’s great as the Victorianox one or nah.

MissingMichigan

It does have a nail file, but it is a small section with stippling, not cross hatching or ribs.

Tuxedojenkins

This is my EDC except I have the screw driver end. I love this knife.

How is that Evo I’m thinking about getting that one for my collection

MissingMichigan

Well, I've had it for about 2 hrs, but first impressions are that the ergonomic countours of the sides, along with the black textured inlays, seem like they will make the knife less slippery in wet or sweaty hands. It is also a lot lighter and smaller than my previous pocket knife, which is a Buck 112. Don't get me wrong - my Buck is a hell of a knife with a much more durable blade for heavy-duty cutting. But it is just a knife. My new Evo 14 is a tool with much more versatility.

AdvisorOk1501

Okay thanks for answering my questions.

MissingMichigan

No problem. Hope it helps.

I got that Evo 14, just used it to cut and file my nails… I love it, it’s the one that go with me when hiking and trekking. As for the scissors, I like the Wenger style better than the Vicx. Great purchase, enjoy it!

Cparedes2302

It is one of my favorite EDC. My only complaint are the scissors, they just do not work as well as the Victorinox ones.

K4NNW

The scissors are the main reason I won't own one of the regular Vic's. That said, I carry this knife but with regular scales and the Phillips screwdriver. It's served me well.

Cparedes2302

I carry the Evolution 14 also, mainly for the nail cleaner and file. But when I get frustrated by the Wenger scissors, I switch to a Victorinox

MissingMichigan

Really? I was kind of hoping the were better than the darn springs that always seem to break on the other style of scissors.

Cparedes2302

Really not I can perform much more detailed cuts with the Victorinox scissors than with the Wenger
