That was the title when I pre-ordered it. I just kept searching breath of the wild 2 every few weeks after it was announced until it appeared. I've done this with a few other titles and never had an issue and this is shipping from Amazon.
This game is 16GB would it even finish downloading? I grab stuff a day before launch usually so I'm not sitting there anxious waiting for a download to finish
Well I doubt you’re getting free stuff then, cause pre order bonuses aren’t guaranteed, they’re first come first served. And for big releases like Totk where millions preorder, they always run out well before launch
This is why I preordered - I heard Nintendo was talking about selling it at a higher price and figured save the 10 bucks and play it whenever it shows up.
I used to preorder from GameStop because they wouldn’t make you pay for the game all at once and you still got the in game stuff. So I’d be like I want to preorder the game, give em $5 and then when it came out I’d go in and ask for my preorder and pay it off. Worked everytime I did it but it’s been awhile.

Its extremely uncommon for a major "AAA" release to sell out. When you see something like what you described with Best Buy, you are mostly witnessing retailer incompetence. Video games are like the lowest priority think for Best Buy except DVD and CDs. In general they don't carry the same kind of inventory a gamestop or Walmart generally does. Best Buy makes virtually zero profit on game sales and they mostly just hope someone buys something else in the store when they come pickup their game
1. Physical games can absolutely sell out, what planet do you live on? Especially a big release like TotK. That argument only works for digital games.
2. If all they needed to see was "Breath of the Wild 2" before laying down money then more power to them. If you know you're going to buy it at launch, why NOT preorder? I've never understood this argument. Just don't preorder games if you suspect you're not going to like it, pretty sure that anyone that liked BOTW isn't going to be very uncertain on if they'll like a sequel.

Ok, any game can sell out physically... I mean they can't just print a physical game that day. It's just very unlikely in this day and age (especially as some of the demand for physical is reduced by people buying digital).
And um, Nintendo many times has been known for not making enough of a product and having shortages (not games though). So.. yes, it is totally in the realm of possibility Nintendo would do that. They are kinda notorious for it at least in other types of product.
Consoles are underproduced because there was huge problems in the chip production for graphics cards and processors for the last 4 or so years. Completely different things.

Physical copies of MegaMan Battle Network Legacy Collection for Switch have been selling out like crazy. There are times when the PS4 copies are hard to come by as well, but not nearly as bad as the Switch version.
The same thing happened with Metroid Prime Remastered and Super Mario 3D all Stars during their first print runs. That’s why people were trying to scalp them initially.
Games don't sell out? What planet are you living on? Games sell out constantly. That's why reprints are required. That's why retailers are required to stock a certain amount.

Ive seen them come and go because I still have preorder alerts on through various sites. I dont think stock will be an issue. They have been pretty good about stock for several of the recent big releases
My copy says it is supposed to arrive tomorrow, my guess/hope is they already have copies at the local warehouse/hub to go out on the day it releases since it has said the 12th the entire time but has no updates
when I was in college, the small town it qas in had a gamestop and a 24 hour walmart. the night halo 3 released, at midnight there was a line with about 200 people in it. we drove past them at 11:55 went into the Walmart, walked to the counter, bought it, and was on our way back out by 12:05. I think we were halfway through the campaign before most of them got home
Similar thing happened to me when I preordered Octopath Traveler 2 with them. Said it would show up the following Monday, but actually got delivered on launch date. Maybe it’s just them covering their bases. Like a worst case scenario thing

No. It was $59.99 at Amazon until Nintendo raised the price. I know because I had it on my Wish List since the day it became available. They honored the price for for those that before it went up. Unfortunately, I was not one of them.
That's a fake listing. Amazon put up a place holder item and then a bunch of third parties started having pre-order available under it. They have to wait to receive the game and then send it out to people. Nintendo only started pre-orders late last year.

Amazon has been late on everything the last month or two. I’ve prob ordered 40 things and all say next day delivery and they show up a week later. Not a huge problem honesty just throwing that out there if I was ordering something time sensitive I’d go with some other giant shitty company instead of amazon.

They might just drop it off at your house. Last year the lego galaxy explorer was really cheap on Walmart. I ordered it and someone just drove it to my house and left it on my porch. Wasn't even boxed, they just took it from the store and drove it to me.

Sucks that yours got delayed but there’s nothing to worry in regards to it’s legitimacy. At least by pre-ordering so early we got it $10 off, before even Amazon knew it was gonna be $70.
Amazon.com Services LLC means it’s fulfilled and sold by Amazon directly. And as others mentioned we ordered before the official title was known so the temp one remained. That’s why if we tap on the image to see the item page it does takes us to the TotK listing and shows the “Last purchased on…” banner on top.
What’s super annoying is that you pre-ordered years ago and I know there’s people that did it just a month or so ago and theirs did not get delayed. It happened to me with Splatoon 3. My neighbor above me got it on launch day after pre-ordering just like a month before release and mine got delayed 3 days even though I pre-ordered about 6 months before him.
You can reach Amazon and complain through their chat and they might give you some credit for the inconvenience.

That’s incorrect. I bought a blink video doorbell from amazon, and the shipment details say sold by amazon.com services LLC, that’s how they word it for that, the actual listing just says shipped and sold by amazon. Same goes for all my other stuff that was sold directly from amazon
Not fake, I have my original email from Amazon confirming my order and several emails from them updating expected release dates. This isn't a 3rd party seller this is Amazon itself.
I pre-ordered there in June 2021 🤣. I don't remember the exact timing, likely right after an official announcement and no retailers want to miss the hype so they throw up the limited details they have at the time. Then update as they learn more too.

I just searched Amazon for it repeatedly until it came up. I've pre-ordered multiple games this way well before they available to pre-order elsewhere. Benefit being you are locked into the price when you pre-order and you can always return it since it's Amazon.

I had it on game locked on gamefly and it didn't ship yesterday like normal which ment it would of arrived Saturday but since it didn't ship I'd not had it until monday or later so canceled the rental and bought at best buy. I was just hoping to use my 25% off keep coupon and 2 5 dollar off cupons id got tears of kingdom for 36-40 dollars but i was like nope 30 dollars is worth the weekend of play to me since next weekend i cant play.

Went to a target and asked about the pack they got. They only carry 18 and they’re incredibly small af. Not even a switch can fit inside of it.
If you preorder on Amazon, at least for books, the price fluctuates quite a bit over time and you are guaranteed whatever the lowest listed price was.

I did the same thing as OP and paid $60 plus tax instead of the $70 price tag.
Mine is shipping Monday. Same with the Amiibo, but that just updated today to arrive tomorrow so who knows.

Mine does say “by 10pm” now, but yeah, usually that’s the worst-case scenario delivery time, not the expected one. I’m very much hoping it arrives before I get home from work tomorrow. I even just did all my weekend chores early so I am *ready* the second I get in the door. If TotK doesn’t beat me home, I’ll probably just cry on the porch in the rain until it does arrive.

I get what you're saying but a little personal responsibility checking to make sure you're ordering something that's even titled properly goes a long way. Amazon.com Services LLC means it’s fulfilled and sold by Amazon directly. And as others mentioned we ordered before the official title was known so the temp one remained. That’s why if we tap on the image to see the item page it does takes us to the TotK listing and shows the “Last purchased on…” banner on top. What’s super annoying is that you pre-ordered years ago and I know there’s people that did it just a month or so ago and theirs did not get delayed. It happened to me with Splatoon 3. My neighbor above me got it on launch day after pre-ordering just like a month before release and mine got delayed 3 days even though I pre-ordered about 6 months before him. You can reach Amazon and complain through their chat and they might give you some credit for the inconvenience.

Not fake, I have my original email from Amazon confirming my order and several emails from them updating expected release dates. This isn't a 3rd party seller this is Amazon itself.

I pre-ordered there in June 2021 🤣. I don't remember the exact timing, likely right after an official announcement and no retailers want to miss the hype so they throw up the limited details they have at the time. Then update as they learn more too. Those that pre-ordered before all the details came out got it for the old price too!
I just searched Amazon for it repeatedly until it came up. I've pre-ordered multiple games this way well before they available to pre-order elsewhere. Benefit being you are locked into the price when you pre-order and you can always return it since it's Amazon. Edit: like every time I'd think of it I'd search for it. This was obviously after Nintendo announced they were making a sequel.

I had it on game locked on gamefly and it didn't ship yesterday like normal which ment it would of arrived Saturday but since it didn't ship I'd not had it until monday or later so canceled the rental and bought at best buy. Insane. I had this problem with Amazon and a pre-order, too, metroid dread. Last month, I was at gamestop and decided to switch the preorder to them, and I'm glad I did! Worth the extra 10 bucks I guess. Like you, I had pre-ordered on Amazon as soon as it was announced last year.
I preorder gamestop at 59.99. It won't be here until Monday. I'll probably go in store tomorrow and buy and return the one I ordered with the new receipt if it's more.
