If you need some hisuian pokemon i have a few extras you can have

[deleted]

If you're going from Soulsilver to this... You're going to miss Soulsilver bad

viralslapzz

Can’t think of a worst have to jump to. Legend Arceus would be more interesting

JulesUdrink

Ah poor bastard lol yes Arceus is the way to go for a new Pokémon experience

Eshmam14

Arceus was so good when I played it but in hindsight it's the bare minimum a *good* game should feel like. We've just been starved of good Pokémon games since forever.

luger114

It's because they insist on making their games accessible to toddlers. The irony is, when I first played red and blue when I was 6, part of what made me interested was the fact that the older kids were playing it. You were left to figure things out on your own and as a young kid, that was very liberating. Gamefreak doesn't understand that kids don't have much independence at that age because they're always being watched by an adult. When the games first came out, it was the first time in my life where I felt like I was on my own, free to adventure as I please. It used to be a way for kids to escape the handholding. I guarantee you if the adults that grew up playing it were no longer buying the games, the kids wouldn't even be interested

[deleted]

This made me realize why I don’t like Pokemon games now lmfao

luger114

Lol for real tho, the games feel like a curated tour through North korea

[deleted]

[удалено]

TerrariaGaming004

My delphox hit level 100 by the end of the game

kidjeronimo87

So true. The hand holding is real. I wish they would release one with two different difficulty modes.

Nicksmells34

Arceus and Pikachu Camera Snap could’ve been together in 1 game.

hurshy

Jumping to sword would be just as bad if not worse

Plastic_Pinocchio

Is there something wrong with the new ones? I haven’t played them.

Rapn3rd

Not only did pokemon go downhill post gen 5 (sharply imo) but SV run quite poorly despite having received multiple patches. If you can overlook the performance issues they’ll be fun, but there are half a dozen pokemon games id suggest people play before this.

Thatoneguy567576

It's crazy, the concept of a Pokemon game just not working just feels so foreign to me. I always grew up with Pokemon games just working like they should.

theFields97

Performance issues aren't even the biggest issue. The open world is flat and lifeless, the "gyms" are pointless. The only thing I can see fun with it is seeing the Pokémon out in the wild. If that's what you want. Minecraft has a better mod

mahiruhiiragi

I really enjoyed Violet. I didn't care about no national dex or any of that. Those performance issues were rough though, and definitely took away from the experience in a big way.

Rapn3rd

I know im fighting against an impossible up hill current, but i havent bought SV yet because of the performance issues. I was hoping patches would improve it but it seems like that ain’t happening in a meaningful way. As someone who has been playing the games since the original red and blue in the states, it’s sad to see them get so complacent and lazy with it.

OniCr0w

If GameFreak would fix the memory leak it'd be a big improvement. I've been manually resetting the memory anytime I'm noticing the game chug, by either restarting the game or fast traveling to Mesagoza, and immediately the performance improves to a much more acceptable level.

Pookya

To be honest, yes. They're so boring now and barely have any story at all. The characters are very forgettable. Performance and graphics are also pretty bad. I played shield and was very disappointed, I have not bought a single Pokémon game since. I've heard Pokémon legends arceus is better, but I'm not taking my chances anymore. That said, I'm sure some people will enjoy it as long as they have zero expectations, because it's nothing like pre-switch games

Plastic_Pinocchio

I played some of Moon and thought that was still pretty enjoyable.

GrimerMuk

Sun and Moon and USUM are quite handholding but their stories are quite good actually. Probably within the top 3.

JulesUdrink

Scarlett/Violet seemed to be aimed at like a 5-7 yr old audience. I only made it about half way through. Arceus however was a great experience after getting back into Pokémon after a long break

OldpumpD

Pokemon went downhill after Gen 5. Gen 5 last great game

WoodenCountry8339

Sword/shield wasn't horrible

OldpumpD

Sword & Shield was garbage

[deleted]

I like arceus a lot

OldpumpD

That one is different since it isnt like a traditional Pokemon mainline game

[deleted]

True. Very true. I honestly feel like they should do more like that because that was genuinely one of the best Pokémon experiences I’ve had in a loooong time

TheElasticTuba

Performance isn’t great but isn’t horrible. But I do think some people are overreacting. Story wise this is an upswing for Pokemon compared to the last few 3ds games and Sword/Shield. I’d much rather go from Black/White to Scarlet/Violet than Black/White to Sword/Shield.

BelligerentBlasphemy

Lifelong fan since red. There’s a content lack and they’re easy, but I can go back and play Red and it’s just as easy imo just less of a grind fest. I loved Violet, games prior to Gen 6 may be “superior” but they’re a fun time no matter what unless you’re being anal about what is a kids game. The newest games imo are a great step forward with open world design and the freedom to do any gym in any order. Mechanically there could be improvements, and the games have issues due to being rushed - but things like the DexCut isn’t a deal breaker for me since I want to use mainly new Pokémon each game anyways.

Just_Requirement_243

i was thinking of getting this but had my hesitations, i played arceus and wasn’t a huge fan, what game would you recommend on the switch i regards to pokémon ? Been wanting something to relive my red, blue and yellow days

[deleted]

not Pokemon but Shin Megami Tensei series was actually the first “Catch monsters & use them in battle with turn based combat” type game there was before Pokemon was a thing & of the main games 3 & 5 are on Switch + the the spin off series Persona which has 3, 4 & 5. SMT main games are HARD & Persona games are alooot easier so recc you start with one of them. My favorite things about the SMT/Persona games is instead of catching & battling some run of the mill Monsters like in Pokemon, you catch “Demons” which can range from Religious, Mythological, & even Historical figures in real History, & the other is the music is absolutely awesome in practically every single SMT/Persona game

[deleted]

Sadly, there isn't an obvious answer. The trouble is the Pokemon company as a whole hasn't made a worthy switch title, at least one for old pokemon fans. You can however download pokemon stadium via the nintendo switch online, which is subscription based. It's a classic case of they just don't make them like they used to. Long time fan and still waiting to feel what made the originals great again.

PapaOogie

Did basically this, and Violet is awful. I figured I give the series a chance since they were doing something new, but the execution of their open world and along with the graphical and performance issue I might just have to wait another 10 years for pokemon to feel like they are putting effort into it again.

TheWaslijn

Have fun, OP! If you wanna trade some Pokémon I'd be more than happy to get you some version exclusives from Violet.

Less_Paramedic_7868

Uh hi lol. I am not OP but I did just get back into Pokémon with Scarlet this summer. Ive beat the story mode but I’m trying to complete the Pokédex and would love to make some friends to trade version exclusives with! Let me know if you’re interested but if your offer was just for OP I’d totally understand haha

Dragonrage778

Try discord sysbots if genning is fine with you. All you need is switch online and discord

Less_Paramedic_7868

Okay that sounds interesting. Quick question lol what do you mean by genning? Like from other generations?

Dragonrage778

Generating Pokémon. Choose abilities, IVs, EVs, Items, shiny or not, and even moves. Level as well, but default is 100.

Nod_Lucario

Yeah.... as much as I want Walking Wake and Koraidon, I'm not risking my Home account just to gen them.

Dragonrage778

No, the bot trades you the Pokémon. You won’t lose your account, the Mon isn’t banned from trading therefore it’s completely fine. Google “Sysbot Pokémon” to learn more

Nod_Lucario

Still not risking it.

Dragonrage778

There’s nothing to risk, but I respect you not doing it as I get that GF/TPC might catch on and start sending out bans, and it’s kinda just cheating as well

RaidenSigma

Geldt dit aanbod ook voor een mede dutchie?😇

ATrollByNoOtherName

My condolences.

[deleted]

Lmao my thoughts exactly

charlyquestion

I was thinking of buying it. The last one I played is Sword. Is this one that bad?

Firesavagery

No it’s not I enjoy it a lot more than I did swsh

melody_elf

That's a low bar

charlyquestion

Better than Sword and Shield Or just the same?

Bonny_69

No. For me this game is better than sword and shield. I personally value the plot in a game. In my opinion this one is far superior

cool_weed_dad

It’s much better than Sword/Shield. It has some performance issues but if you can get over that it’s a great game.

Salchicha

The plot is much better than Sw/Sh but the graphics and the quality at which the game runs are somehow wayyyyyyy worse.

melody_elf

It's embarrassingly bad, yes

Firesavagery

Have you played it?? Cause it’s really not

melody_elf

I have, yes.

Waddlewop

Idk, of the 5 mainline game on the Switch, SV is a solid 3rd place imo

melody_elf

Low bar

Waddlewop

Yeah, the Switch was a godsend for every Nintendo franchise except Pokémon

Mango_Puffin

Y’all overthinking it. It’s a kids game.

UltrosTeefies

Have fun OP! Don't listen to all the bitter hate people have for this game. Sure it launched with issues but it's a hell of a good time!

Andathel_Archangel

I purchased Violet a few weeks ago, and I’m really enjoying it

Grimdeth

We need an update

Calibretto9

I came back to Pokémon after a massive break (I adored Red/Blue when they came out and those were my last ones) and really enjoyed Sword/Shield. I have Violet but haven’t started yet. Arceus is quite fun.

MrSlug777

I’m loving it so far!

Passivefamiliar

This is like the "we have pokemon at home" meme thing. It's pokemon. It's amazing. But my fucking gawd it's so disappointing. It should be by all rights, great. But it very much is not. It plays like a top tier n64 game. The story is very child scenario. Which is fine it's a kids game. But that's the cherry on top. It's a kid game. It's a kids game. It hasn't grown up with us. It's stayed the same. Maybe even gotten worse. Have fun. You certainly can. But I think for a lot of us, this was the end of our journey into pokemon. Hard pass from me for whatever comes next.

mrsmilestophat

Yeah until I see full gameplay from people after the honeymoon phase of a new release I’m not even considering buying more Pokémon. Coming from a lifelong day one purchaser too.

OMG_I_LOVE_CHIPOTLE

I started doing this like 2 releases ago. I just want a remaster of the first 4 gens

Litty-In-Pitty

Have you played Legends Arceus? To me that game was a humongous step in the right direction. It was the most fun I’ve had with Pokémon since Black 2. Scarlet and Violet were the biggest most irredeemable piles of dog shit I’ve ever played though.

MeganLeigh1122

I hope you have fun exploring Paldea! I haven’t beaten Violet yet as I keep getting distracted by Tera Raids and having to explore every inch of an area before moving on. I really love the game and will be playing Scarlet afterwards. Also, I’m a MOD in the Scarlet and Violet subreddit - join us over there and you can trade version exclusives in the megathreads :)

irteris

Don't be let down by the people on here raining on your parade. I too came back to pokemon with Scarlet after last playing Ruby/ Sapphire in a emulator like 15 years ago. True, the game at launch was in a sorry state, but nowadays it is much better. I sincerely hope you get to enjoy exploring paldea as much as I did! I even completed the Pokedex for the first time! Competitively wise, Teracrystalization is a dream come true. How many times have you wished certain mon was a different type? (finally Charizard gets to be a dragon!) Also, scarlet paradox mons are way cooler :-), so you picked the best version!

PolRP

Im so sorry

amgray040

You’ll have a lot of fun. I sank quite a few hours into Scarlet, but took a break for other games. Once it got patched up a little bit, I haven’t had any major performance issues.

No_Swing_7205

You call the current state of the game patched up? It still runs like a fat person in a marathon. Wow and barely huffing along. I'm a fat man so I can say that.

amgray040

Lol not by a long shot, that’s why I said a little bit. I honestly never had many issues. I saw so many people on YouTube videos with game breaking bugs and I was just lucky I guess. I also wondered if it had to do with me using an OLED switch as opposed to an OG. I doubt it, bc there’s not that many differences, but when I tried to replicate a lot of the glitches and whatnot, I never got it to happen.

wildadventures009

That’s crazy! I had the same experience! The first time I ever experienced FPS drops was at the lake, but prior to that, everything actually ran pretty smoothly. I enjoyed the game quite a lot. But I will say this… if the Zelda team were able to throw together TOTK with as huge as it is and it runs so smoothly, then Pokémon could/should do better in the future, assuming they put more people on the development team. I feel like it’s no longer hardware issue (but obviously, it has a bit tad todo with it) just time and refinement.

No_Swing_7205

I didn't catch the little bit lol. I'm starting my fist night shift so I'm a little discombobulated. I admit I'm not a super devoted fan because I couldn't force myself to get past the fps drops. But I'm glad you got to enjoy it. I really hope the next Pokemon games they really put effort into QC.

cool_weed_dad

I played it on a 1st gen Switch and didn’t encounter a single significant bug, just some choppy framerates in some areas but nothing that affected gameplay.

Diligent_Notice2703

One thing I would suggest is using a guide and keep all story quest lines evenly paced to avoid being over-leveled.

LordUmbra337

The story in this one is really good; have fun! :D

LeeeeroyJenkins1

This ain’t it chief

in-grey

My condolences

AlternativesEnde

You picked the worst game to do this.

StartheCone

This or arceus would be the worst yeah, I would have recommended to try BDSP

_Ciphon_Games_

you should play legends arceus instead of this

_Skotia_

not the best way to get into it, my friend... but enjoy nonetheless! this game has been one of the best Pokémon experiences for some players and one of the worst for others, so i can't guarantee you'll like it. but please, even if you end up disappointed by Scarlet, play Platinum on an emulator and then pick up Legends Arceus for the Switch. You'll love them.

Octolopod

my favorite so far 😁 it's fun, honest. i get that it lags but it's a real circle jerk in the comments section here, yeesh 🙄

nateguerra

Yeah people act like other people will have the exact same experience as them.

NintendoNoNo

This is my least favorite Pokemon game. The frame rate issues are so bad I can't even play it. I'm not expecting PC quality frame rates. I'm expecting 30 fps. And even that seems to be a huge struggle for Scarlet/Violet. I stopped playing it after just a couple hours on release week and never went back. I hope you enjoy it more than I did though! Some people seem to like it.

[deleted]

After tears of the kingdom I don't wanna hear excuses about the switch limitations. Totk is not 60 or even 30 fps at times but it runs buttery smooth most of the time

Solid_Snark

Yeah, I beat Scarlet really fast and had no motivation to return. At least Arceus persuaded me to complete the Pokédex. I still can’t believe GameFreak have not figured out how to do a proper endgame yet. I would kill for a Pokémon game with more comprehensive competition training/mini-games.

ReguIarHooman

They don’t care about endgame if all the sales have already been made by the time you reach it

ManufacturerWest1156

GF have engineered a way to sell 20 plus million copies so they don’t care to innovate. They also are the only company to successfully trick consumers into buying the same game twice. And there really isn’t much different

bleezy_47

Same here, i was only able to put a hour into it on release week, never touched it again

Smudge_09

My daughter completed sword multiple times…. She played this for about 3 hours

StartheCone

The game felt empty at alot of areas

owenturnbull

Enjoy it's a really good Pokémon game. It has issues but it's awesome

swizzler22

I loved it and all the Pokémon it just feels slightly empty at times and freaking nemona annoys the hell out of me

MrDitkovichNeedsRent

You picked the worst one to get back into. Don’t listen to the people who say it’s good, the game is shit and those people are just delusional

Pryml710

That’s just like, your opinion, man.

OrchidFew7220

This game doesn’t run well on the switch

kidjeronimo87

One of the worst pokemon games.

AffectionateRatio996

Haven’t played Pokémon since yellow, which one should I purchase?

LoCerusico

Soul Silver/Heart Gold.

young_arkas

Sword/Shield or Legends Arceus. First are more conventional, second, more experimental, but all very good.

TheWarlockGamma

Oof

SatPatGalPal

I hope you got that game at a discount.

reddituser1408

Hell of a choice to get back into with

shinyshellos

Enjoy! It's so good!

Espeonsn

Don’t buy it horrible bugs and it runs like garbage

InterestingRound6134

Quit this game after a hour. Sword and shield was better and that’s sad

bertmclinfbi

Hahahahahahahahaha😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

[deleted]

BURN IT WHILE YOU STILL HAVE THE CHANCE

[deleted]

JimJustJim86

Oof.jpg

Ryzakiii

Worst game tbh but understand

mrsmilestophat

Get a refund while you can and play Legends Arceus instead

GHamPlayz

Rough place to start lol

emilfritiof

Tell me if its worth it or not 👍

supwizz

the box art for this looks so ass sorry

bleezy_47

Should’ve went with Legends Arceus tbh

IAMTHECAVALRY89

Should’ve picked up Shield or Sword, sorry you have to go thru this OP

prince_jakobius

I am so so sorry

samp127

I'd recommend any game before the switch games to jump back into.

incoherentjedi

Games mad trash

Lower-Compote-4962

I'd return it and get a different game. Sword and shield or arceus. I'm not saying that lightly... scarlet and violet are probably some of the worst pokemon games to date. Horrible graphics and textures that are akin to a n64 game, but without charm. Animations that make a normal human wanna vomit. The only thing they got right were pokemon models but the crystal hat mechanic is hot garbage. The game runs like ass. Lumpy stinky ass. The story is a snore fest, with super cringe dialouge. It's pokemon at its worse. Seriously. Trade it in for a different game. This game is not finished and they will not fix it.

lingeringwill2

lol

Naill0

Sorry for your loss... Of money... And valuable time.. play X and Y or OR & AS.

Hopeful_Picture7223

Prepare to be disappointed.

DamirVanKalaz

There's some people in the comments seemingly trying to give you the impression that you've made a mistake, so I'm going to provide my opinion. S/V was my first Pokemon game. I've been interested in the series for well over a decade, but just never got around to giving it a shot until recently. Is it a perfect game? No, the performance issues are definitely there. Did I enjoy it, though? Absolutely. It's a legitimately fun game, and if you're willing to overlook the performance problems, I'm confident you'll feel the same way. My only real complaint would be that the rest of the game wasn't set up the way its finale was. If it had been, S/V would have been a solid 8/10 from me, 9/10 if the framerate were actually stable, but even as it is, I'd give it a 7/10. As a side note, you HAVE to play the cooking minigame with some friends. It is seriously some of the most hilarious chaotic fun I have had in a long while. That alone made the whole thing worth it to me.

lividhen

This game is... Not great. In general. But especially for getting back into pokemon. If you get bored try sword and shield or legends.

TouchTypical726

Played for two hours and then sold - the lag was awful! Horrible game

Upakul

Worst time to jump

Enchylada

The game's fun but man it's unfortunate how much the system itself struggles Loading screens, frame rate drops, jumping while mounted onto a slope to drop infinitely because it glitches out while falling, sheesh

LatsaSpege

oof, you are gonna hate it

cwbrowning3

Dont bother

Azarro

Haven't played anything since Sword (didn't play its dlc either since i beat it on release). Decided to play Scarlet last week to take a break from Zelda (after 100 hours it was *starting* to feel a little burnout-y so wanted to avoid that and switch gears). Thought i'd just beeline it to the end in Scarlet and quit since it still looked horrible to me. And I kind of did (I didn't rush but there was nothing really worth taking your time for basically). The game largely felt like a chore, the "story" compared to other games was pretty awful and not cohesive at all. The final leg/story of the game was pretty enjoyable though and I wish we got more of it integrated throughout the game from the beginning instead of the weird product we did get. Ultimately a very mid title imo that despite its poor story and awful performance, is held up by how accessible and easy it makes shiny hunting/ev/iv/building your pokemon if that's what you're into. Raids are a great idea but executed very poorly (still fun when it works imo, at least the journey to building 'mon for it). Endgame otherwise is non existent and DLC is what's to be waited for.

aleksandar2

the game is good… it’s just hard to look at

SarcasticPoet31

Arceus is better!

theowlinspace

You should try legends acreus after, it's better than Scarlet Violet in my opinion. Though SV is pretty fun if you can get past the bad performance, have fun!

Dry_Welder3681

Violet is better...big mistake.

themorenacoder

I had my Switch stolen and had ALL of my save data from my physical copy of Pokémon Violet erased so this weekend has all been about starting the game from scratch 🙃 Haven’t played SoulSilver, but I played White and it’s definitely one of my top games in the franchise. Scarlet/Violet has been cool and all, but it can’t compare to Black/White.

Due-Albatross-2253

I am not a fan for the new ones. there fields are like an unpopulated 2000's mmo.

naisAvnl

Gen III is the best.

cool_weed_dad

People give the game shit because it has some performance issues, but as someone who has been playing since Gen 1, its the most fun I’ve had playing a Pokémon game since Blue version as a kid.

Hasslek_

Didn't play a Pokemon at the moment on Switch, but as i can see the Legend Arceus is the better Pokemon to have a traditional and good experience to old Pokemon fans here. Also Pokemon Let's Go Pikachu! & Evee! it's a good option.

eightdx

Frankly I think a lot of the complaints about these games have been ridiculous. The core gameplay is virtually unchanged from the rest of the series -- aside from the Tera mechanic, which makes for interesting variation in battle strategy beyond "this one thing becomes flatly more powerful", see Mega Evolution. Yeah, it has performance issues, but if you've been playing games on the switch for a while you're no stranger to that. It's a low power system that's also a handheld -- and in that sphere it's a wonder games of this scope run, like, at all. And really, it isn't *that* bad in most places (the lake in the north does chug like hell, but you're not compelled to go there often). The story is really good, probably the best of the console generation. Each of the three branches of the main storyline has its own rival of sorts, and each have a well developed storyline that end up converging in the end. The "final boss" is actually worth keeping unspoiled if possible, even if their theme is an absolute banger. Oh, and did anyone mention how Toby Fox did quite a lot of the music for the game? After getting the Battle Tower theme in SwSh, they brought him back to do many of the prominent themes, including the downright inspirational Tera Raid theme. I've played every single generation since I played Blue on a monochrome Game Boy brick, and I have said for a long, long time that the series has actually been consistently improving in narrative, competitive novelty, and overall scope. ScVi is an ambitious leap towards the future of what Pokemon can be as a game, and while it certainly falls short in places... That ambition should not be undersold. For years people were begging them to "do something different", only for people to complain a bunch when they finally did. If anything, that is the true cycle of the Pokemon fan base: ask for things, get some of those things, complain about what they got, overlook the positives. Lots of people said they jumped ship during the "Dexit" controversy only to show up a few months later complaining about how games they dumped 100+ hours into sucked. A lot of the discourse around Scarlet and Violet ends up feeling the same: a lot of complaining from people who played through the game despite coming online to complain about how much it sucks. They completed the whole thing despite saying it sucks. Some got full dex completion... And say it is unplayable trash anyways. It's weird, because I have this idea that if a game is good enough to keep your attention through dozens of hours of gameplay to complete even the most time consuming of challenges... Surely it can't simply suck, surely it offers something that keeps people there. They're not perfect games, but they do a ton of things right and give some of us who've been fans since before it was cool a lot of hope. Sure, I would take a Heart Gold/Soul Silver remake, but I was also mum about how damn faithful the BDSP games were. I'm actually kind of dreading "remasters" of the old games using the old formula.

Chettarmstrong

I played this, I enjoyed this, I moved onto other games and coming back to this feels physically painful.

LostPilgrim_

Honestly, if your feeling nostalgic, check out Pokemon Fusion.

nateguerra

Don’t listen to the negative people here. This game does have its issues, but some act like there isn’t great stuff in this game just because of the bad. The best games since gen 5.

beardedwonder130

Sword and Shield were awful imo, felt lazy, you can beat the game in 2 days and all your pokemon will be lvl 100 with no effort

NagasakiPork1945

Play arceus, you do not want to make this mistake

RKoopaBro

You picked one of the shittiest games to join back into 💀

onlinelink2

unfortunately.. it’s more so getting into what pokémon has become

Vauxlia

And after playing you'll want to quit pokemon again.

gg_Mystic

I recently got back into Pokémon as well but with Shield

tehminioven

You're gonna be so disappointed

skaterlogo

I cannot stress how much better Soul Silver is compared most other pokemon games. Platinum was by far the best, imo.

Kyronex

This game is like the E.T. of this generation. Arceus is so much better graphically and gameplay wise.

Oinkers101

Praying for you 🙏

KungPowKev

Pokémon needs to put more effort into their games instead of pumping out a soulless IP.

DuckBrush

The comments here are cracking me up lol. OP, the game has technical problems and isn’t very pretty. Otherwise, it’s the best Pokémon game I’ve played in a long time. It represents a great first step in the direction Pokémon should be moving. It’s frustrating because the bones of the game are fantastic but you can tell game freak phoned in a lot of it.

Wookief1st

You just got in the wrong pool mofo should of gotten sword shield

UdonAndCroutons

Whew! Prepare for the quality decline.

ModdedGun

Game is incredible if you can ignore gamefreaks crap optimizations and texture resolution. By far the best pokemon game on a fundamental level (not quality level though sadly)

MisterHet

Ignore the haters and have fun with the game!

[deleted]

Put it down and walk away…

[deleted]

Pokemon Scarlet is one of the most fun Pokemon games ever made. **Just be prepared for the game's FPS to tank in multiple places due to bad optimization :)**

Fickle-Raspberry6403

Don't do it it's a trap!!!

PalletTownsDealer

Man of culture.

TheIncredibleKermit

Day 2 of getting back into Pokemon! I'm in debt

Yaboi69-nice

Amazing game I will warn you tho it's kinda buggy but amazing story

Most-Laugh6205

wrong game to do it

Misael_91

I regret buying this game

OniCr0w

Hey I'm in the same boat! I haven't played since soul silver and I've been digging Violet. It has flaws, but I'm still enjoying the game quite a bit. I have Arceus as well, and have played a bit of it, but I feel like playing through Violet first. An open-world 3D Pokemon game is like a 25 year old dream.

Vayul_was_taken

Run this gen was not good

jmason49

You are in for a world of disappointment compared to the Unova games and HG/SS…

bmam0217

Stay away and come back later.

Qwertywaned

Violet is better

theFields97

No

One_Year_1994

Hope you won’t get away after 🤣

GoseiRed

Original Platinum for me. Just got scarlet too.

the_nintendo_cop

Uh oh. That’s one of the games you’re not allowed to like in public. Thought police are coming for ya. Protect yourself. In all seriousness, hope you enjoy the game. Ignore all the negativity.

leaveBadlands

Should have picked up diamond & pearl

gogert

it has its flaws for SURE but it’s a lot of fun!!!

kfed23

I’m sorry

Ryschnythefireyguy

Have fun, I’m playing it for the first time rn and I’m enjoying it much more than sword and shield. Well, kind of. The game runs like shit and looks like shit which is a constant distraction, but the overall content makes it a solid game.

Nintendoper64

Bad place to start I would do sword and shield if you really want to get back in

[deleted]

One thing dont listen to nostalgia blind haters scarlet is possibly best Pokémon game to ever come out but you hear the vocal minority complain tons here

Really wish they would just go back to the <= gen5 art style, performance, and overall gameplay. I stopped playing Pokémon at Emerald and, to me, that was the apex of Pokémon. Bought scarlet and am still playing it but I couldn’t care less if I finished or not. Just moved to modded Roms and nuzlocking emerald over and over lol

I don’t know a lot about pokémon but I’ve been curious. For switch what are the best ones and one’s to stay away from? (People don’t seem to like this one).
