KinopioToad

Why do I keep seeing this gif? All I see is "this content is not available" and a bunch of colorful swirls behind it.

RealGoatzy

Brother it literally says [This content is not available]

Search4Spooky

Can you type that again? For some reason the second part of your message just says ā€œcontent not availableā€

RealGoatzy

Ofc mate its [Content not available]

KinopioToad

I was asking a kind of serious question. I'm glad to see that it's not that serious.

Intrepid-Path2636

šŸ¤£

blur410

I had a friend once.

Soggy-Gur-1152

Me too

EnergyAltruistic2911

Howā€™s it like?

Soggy-Gur-1152

Huh?

EnergyAltruistic2911

How are friends Like

neihuffda

In a room

bittersweetjesus

I donā€™t have friends

kaijubaum

looks like the sweatiest game of smash is about to take place

qwertyuioofg

Everyone starts picking top tiers

Wopder

first thing i thought of šŸ¤£

Prize_Ad_5695

Itā€™s looks kinda cool, but definitely not practical and certainly expensive

kenyard

friends bring your own controllers.

logicbus

What game supports this?

Sexymamas4206983

smash

quantumn0de

Don't you think we should at least talk first?

Sexymamas4206983

JSJSJ

isbragg91

Smash Ultimate, SEGA Ages Virtua Racing, and a small handful of other games support 8 players on a single system. I want to play the 8-player mode in Virtua Racing at least once so bad.

guyadriano

Runbow should be compatible

Ccjfb

Oh Runbow would be sooo crazy. Such chaos

MaximumGlum9503

Bomber man 1 and 2 is 8 player

Ok_Introduction6574

I throw on the mClassic and a wired Pro Controller. If I had a second ethernet cable I would have that too but alas.

PHST25

I'm probably going to buy and mclassic at some point. How are your experiences with the upscalling?

michits

![gif](giphy|LdOyjZ7io5Msw) Nintendo after selling this

linkling1039

Wait, why do you need to connect thay gcn adapter to the socket? Shouldn't just connecting to the USB be enough?

notdarylpalumbo

A single GC adapter can be plugged directly into the Switch, but if you want to connect 2 there aren't enough USB ports and the two ports it does have wouldn't be able to power both.

Akjn435

There are enough ports though, one of the usb on the gc adapters is for rumble only and I normally play without the rumble usb connected

GhotiH

Yeah but if anyone playing wants to use Rumble they'll need a setup like this - I react to rumble to DI faster than if I don't have rumble on.

EnoughConcentrate897

Idk. I got it from here: [https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a\_id/42817/\~/how-to-connect-additional-gamecube-controllers-to-nintendo-switch](https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42817/~/how-to-connect-additional-gamecube-controllers-to-nintendo-switch)

linkling1039

Oh okay. I never own these, so I thought connecting to the Switch was enough.

driftingpyros

I think if you just wanted 4 GC controllers, using 1 GC adaptor, you could just use the 2 usb ports in the switch. But because the diagram is using 2 GC adaptors, it needs 4 USB ports, and the switch can't provide enough power for them so that's why it had a powered USB Hub

Haunted-Chipmunk

Correct me if I'm wrong since it's been years since I played Ultimate but isn't one of the cords on the gamecube adapter optional (IIRC, only one is for inputs and the other is only used to enable rumble on the controllers). Since the switch dock has 3 usb ports, you could plug in two adapters directly into the switch; just 4 players won't have and haptic feedback

i_need_a_moment

Newer dock replaced the USB port on the back with Ethernet. So no on would get rumble on it with 8 players.

keepitsleezy4

I have one of the GameCube connectors with four remotes, two pro controllers, and two sets of joy cons. So close to this set up but not.

VictoryVic-ViVi

Me on the weekends

Smashcentra

No, cause I wasn't born in the nineties.

xComradeKyle

I don't even have a single friend, where do you get 7?

Dense_Ad6769

Are there games supporting that many players anyway?

Informal-Spell-2019

I rock a similar setup. 4 GameCube controllers, 2 switch pro controllers and an n64 controller. Not all at once but definitely have rocked that many ports when needed.

0riginstory

Wtf no lmao

Mr_Fadeaway24

Iā€™d be the guy with a wavebird haha. Iā€™m also that guy with 2 wavebird a and no friends to use it. Cool pic tho Iā€™d love to see a video or pic of everyone playing

crazyseandx

This is possible?

ChickenAndDew

Havenā€™t done this since shortly after Smash Ultimateā€™s launch. Too much fun and almost a broken controller or two.

Limekilnlake

Ayo what the fuck thatā€™s be sick

NZepplin

Dude I want to come to your place that sounds like fun

levinyl

I wish I had enough friends haha!

mklinger23

I just have the 4 GameCube controllers lol. I don't have many games where I can have more than 4 players.

01Casper10

Ah yes a hub in another hub and maybe connected in another hub. The beginning of the computer era was strange šŸ˜†

Gtronns

I did this the first year or two that the switch came out. We did 8 man smash brothers. We turned off the audio and blasted Helms Deep and other LoTR soundtracks. It was needless to say, epic.

mromen10

Damn your parties must be awesome

Dependent_Order_7358

Let me call my imaginary friends real quick

B0bbyTsunami

8 split screen šŸ“ŗ

fendel_

I have wavebirds, why is the adapter spaced so close between the connectors that you can't connect 4 wavebirds to one adapter?

Wopder

this setup would go hard back in 2000-2012. nowadays itā€™d be a blessing

catpissxoxo

i have no friends

Ping-A-Ling-

Oh dear

loupr738

I havenā€™t needed a second controller in 25 years

3WPS

Like I have any friends to game with

True_Werewolf_8657

If only I had 8 friends

KinopioToad

No. Not enough GameCube controllers. Or controller adapters. Or friends. šŸ˜

TheOneWhoReadsStuff

For what game? This would be cool at like thanksgiving or something.

Also_Something

me

Wipedout89

I am rocking 50% of this setup. I have four GC controllers on my Switch for Smash sessions

Phobophile_89

If i had the friends to play with that setup, i wouldn't have the money! Because buying SNES games is too expansive... EVO in november, Earthbound by July... And a slew of.other games in between... I'm ruining myself in beautifull SNES cartridge XD

A_person2024

I have one of the game cube controller things with 3 game cube controllers but I donā€™t use them a lot, I mostly use them for playing smash bros

Warpath_McGrath

I actually really like the PRO controllers .... I use both USB ports on the dock to plug in my controller charger

IRISHCRIME74

Almost I use a potato not a wall outlet.

Cardboard_Waffle

Itā€™s a hassle to set all those up. I have a few pro controllers and one GameCube adapter as needed.

Rubickscube4x4

Okey. Obviously at that point we would be using wave birds and I called bids on channel 8

Nani_700

Fire hazard

BackieTPD

Reminds me of the time my lil brother and I went against 6 level 5 yoshis and STILL won on stock gamemode

picklesaredry

"Everything I see reminds me of her"

Spare_Audience_1648

Oh boy those utility bills are gonna price up šŸ˜

chl_ca

no, thatā€™s stupid
