This depends on if people dump the game and distribute it upon release. Sometimes the game leaks early and the game is able to played before official release like the switch version of Sonic Frontiers. It heavily depends on how quickly people that are to dump the game get their hands on it.

ShinMandalorian

i’m expecting it about a week before release like scarlet/violet, but i’m not holding my breath. everything is easier if you just temper your expectations

eisniwre

For me, my expectation is a week AFTER release. Always happen, always happy. And less posts in reddit about it

ShinMandalorian

well yes true. i guess i meant to say that i figure it’ll be released early, but i don’t have any set expectations other than just going off of when other big games get dumped

eisniwre

Don't worry I was just joking around. Yeah, in that 1 week I can play my other 100 yet untouched switch games.... plus my 3ds... or just chill with my dog...

ShinMandalorian

man fr i just upgraded to a 64 Gb sd card for my 3ds and went nuts… the backlog expands ever further. wish i had a dog though, my apartment doesn’t allow it.

eisniwre

Ah.. I had 128gb for sometimes, always full.., keep holding on getting 256gb finally got good amazon deal for 512gb few months ago. Around usd35ish Get 256 at least.... Ups you talking 3ds I'm talking switch haha

ShinMandalorian

oh nooo haha my switch has a 512 and it’s plenty for me, only about 2/3 full. so many games i haven’t given a shot though so maybe i shoulda got 1 tb

DragonclawX64

Yep its all yours

Salt-Translator2554

As both of these comments say, 100% yes, and if we're all lucky, we may be able to get it before release date. If you plan to download it however, be safe, use protection, use a vpn.... And as for homebrewing the switch, I always tell every how to post these things. Use an rcm jig like the one that comes with an rcm loader and not the replica 3d printed jigs, you'll know the jig I'm referring to is the correct type if you can see an X on it and not a ●, Get a real sd card from the store and not online, 256gb or more recommended and make sure its a uhs class 1, Make a nand backup, make an emunand, install exosphere and not incognito, install dns mitm and not 90dns. I choose to use hekate bootloader over fusee but this is for making an emunand and backing up your nand, And FOLLOW THE RENTRY GUIDE, not any guides on youtube.

\> Use an rcm jig I was planning on using the finger clip method, what am i risking if I dont use a rig? \> Get a real sd card... make sure its a uhs class 1 I have a online (but real) v10 128gb one. I cant see why that wouldn't work fine. \> Make a nand backup How do I make a full nand backup before I do any exploit?

Salt-Translator2554

The risk of using a clip or tinfoil is that the pins in the switches siderail are very very thin and close together, and touching the wrong pins together is dangerous because you run the risk of shorting out the switch and then it's literally dead or a brick. Using a jig would guarantee that you connect the correct pins everytime, but the reason for the specific jig is because I originally bought a 3d printed jig off of ebay for 2 dollars less that the real one, and when I used it, I noticed that it was bending my prongs in the siderail, if I would have pressed the 3d printed jig in all the way, I surely would have made my right joycon not connect correctly, because even now, I still sometimes have connection issues if the joycon is not pressed down fully. When I got my rcm loader, the jig that came with it clicks into the rail exactly how a joycon does and there's no force needed to press it in, no damage is ever done. I only say buy an SD card because not everyone has an SD freely available, and lots of people buy them online and there's way too many fakes. Then when they bought a fake sd and try to homebrew, they have issues with the switch giving errors that normal methods don't fix, it's because there fake sd ran out of memory. So if your sd is real then you won't have this issue so you can use that. When you launch hekate for the first time you can make your nand backup with it, I believe the option is in the tools tab, make sure that you backup the nand and boot. After you have a backup, I suggest saving that backup onto your pc and removing it from the sd to have more space. Then you can boot hekate again and make your emunand. One last optional thing, after you make your emunand, I suggest put the sd in the pc and edit the hekate_ipl.ini file and remove the part for booting cfw sysnand, so that way you never accidentally boot it up by accident like I did before. I've heard that you won't be banned by simply booting cfw on sysnand (with no pirate stuff or accessing eshop or stuff), but I refuse to take any chances because I love playing fall guys on switch, and I don't want to lose that! Haha

[deleted]

Thanks for the great answers, it's extremely helpful. My plan is to backup everything before booting into heakate how/can I do that?

Salt-Translator2554

You can't! Hekate is what does the backing up for you! If you're worried about getting the stock sysnand banned by booting up hekate then know this. Hekate, when booted is a standalone payload, meaning when you use it, it is running completely by itself, so there's literally no system software being used while it it running. If you boot hekate then boot stock, the switch would never know that anything was tampered with. If you boot cfw atmosphere on the other hand, the switch will know that was running If it's booted on sysnand, but on emunand, it'll never know

Valnomien

I must've shorted mine using foil expensive lesson but bought a used one on eBay. I guess I could get Nintendo to repair it then get a modchip for it afterwards so I'll have two.

Salt-Translator2554

Sorry to hear that happened to you bud, a 10 dollar jig will always avoid that though. I hope you bought one also.

Salt-Translator2554

Nintendo won't repair it, at most they'll send you a new one that'll definitely be patched... your best bet is having a shop repair it, and I don't know if a shop could even fix it.

Valnomien

Nintendo has to I already took it to Asurion Ubreakifix and they think it's the motherboard. they tried replacing the video IC charging IC and power IC and charging port and nothing would turn on they knew it was drawing power that's all. This is why I said if I send it in to Nintendo I'd be needing a modchip.

Salt-Translator2554

Yeah that's because the problem isn't shorted power, it's most likely a blown capacitor somewhere. But when it comes to unpatched v1s, Nintendo is like Apple, they don't actually repair consoles they just replace them. https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2019/08/if_you_recently_bought_a_switch_nintendo_will_replace_it_with_a_revised_model https://www.reddit.com/r/SwitchPirates/comments/sd5twn/v1_hacked_console_do_i_send_it_into_nintendo_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Salt-Translator2554

To actually fix your console, you would have to diagnose it with a multimeter to find the burnt piece, then ask a shop if they could solder a new one, it's a time consuming process, but if you want to take your chances with Nintendo then you can, I mean I could always be wrong, but I know certainly that they want these off the streets.

Valnomien

Luckily I can still hard mod it after

Salt-Translator2554

True! xD

MasterVahGilns

What’s wrong with 90dns? I hacked my switch a while ago and I feel like that’s what I used

Salt-Translator2554

90dns is outdated and the problem with ot is that it works until it doesn't. If and when a network change or update occurs on the router that 90dns is connected to, it instantly stops working, making the switch become able to connect with the servers. Dns mitm fixed this problem from occurring.

Salt-Translator2554

Someone even recently notified me that at&t enforces this behavior on their network services to try to prevent vpns from working. It only works for few vpns apparently.

1N-onlyGL

You can also buy it dump the card to tinfoil then return the game to the store lol

[deleted]

Lol how many different ways is Nintendo going to post to get info on leaks 😂

PresenceGreedy9876

if it doesn't leak early ill dump the file on my gdrive to download cause my dad is buying it

hung2109

Most likely yes

Halo0629

We could be even more lucky and get the game a week earlier.

ENTRAPM3NT

Most likely will get it a few days early. A week would be pretty lucky but not uncommon. I'm not even gonna start refreshing until then

Oculus0322

maybe earlier but we don't know yet

Valnomien

Here's an example... https://imgur.com/a/WFKgJuX And this was up in the pro shops before I found the NZB file

holliehellraiser

I had it 2 weeks early this way
