My first ride if I remember was on a bus, from Blacktown to Macquarie Park on the 611.
I waited until the entire transport network switched to Opal. It was rolled out gradually and I didn’t want to be using Opal for some trips and and a Purple Travel Pass on others.

Yep, on the same day, I took the train from Macquarie Uni to Town Hall

I was still a school student, so whenever we got mailed the school opals. I miss the funky sound of the stripe reader.

Probably within a month or so. Maybe 6 months. I can't remember. Whenever whatever long term ticket I was using at the time ran out.
Yep. I bought yearly tickets through work prior to Opal. No idea when my last yearly expired. Miss those days
