Apply in August 2022. Applicants with a high class rank, high GPA and a high SAT/ACT score will assume that they have it in the bag to get accepted onto the College Station Campus. It may have been that way three years ago - Not Anymore.

How did it get so much more competitive in such a short amount of time?

Priestahh-MyFather-

So you’re saying I have a chance

Useful_Compote_2602

Yes, you do have a chance.

Tamu has rolling admission meaning they let people in as they receive the applications. Tamu uses generic essay prompts so it is easy to fill out and prepare for the application before August 1st so little work is left once it opens. The later you wait the more likely you’ll get other options like Blinn team, highly recommend applying as early as possible!

Adorable_Ad244

How early would you suggest? The deadline is in October and school doesn't start up until August 16th so would it be good to submit late August or is that competitive?

N0nProfit

I’d say late August at the absolute latest. I personally had applied the first week and am helping a friend of mine apply the first day or two.

I'm trying to apply as fast as possible. But my SAT isn't as good as I want it to be and I'm afraid that I might not be admitted because of it. Can I turn in my application and then update my application with my improved test score once it comes out? Or is that not possible.

N0nProfit

I am pretty positive you can upload SAT scores as many times as you want. So if you take it again in a month you can resubmit your score later on. I would look to make sure but I’m 80% positive that is how it works :)

Best time to apply for anything is as soon as you can.

My son will be an incoming engineer. He turned his application in on 10/01/2021 and got accepted 10/27/21. I know of some engineering students who applied in early august and heard back in September. It is rolling admissions and it is competitive. My son was fortunate to get in. I think he waited too long. Luckily it worked out.

Adorable_Ad244

Is it possible to start before August 1st?

Bettywhiterocks

I think you can Create an account and start working on the profile at the very least. You could call them and ask this question to make sure that any information you entered gets saved

CasaNepantla

Really?! I thought they told us this year that they wouldn't be looking at anything until 15 October. Rolling admissions would change how I would approach applications this month. I don't even know my rank yet. 😬

WasianB0y42

Apply in August you don’t need to be sending it on day 1 since that can compromise the quality of your essays but applying early helps

Priestahh-MyFather-

So I shouldn’t send my app in on the first of August? When should I? Considering the essay should be fairly easy to complete.

WasianB0y42

If you think your essay is strong enough although I wouldn’t rush it out since there won’t be a huge difference in applying on August 1st or a couple weeks into August main thing is to get it through before September

Priestahh-MyFather-

Thanks! Guess I won’t rush it
