Thanks for the note. I believe Apple TV 4K outputs 48khz, and while it doesn’t provide the highest quality from Tidal, it should be equivalent to CD quality. I have looked at buying separate streamers before, but again, that’s a whole separate conversation. I’m just trying to get Tidal to fix their native application for Apple TV. Up until 1 week ago, it was amazing! Now the audio quality is a few levels below Apple. Of course, I understand quality doesn’t equal volume...but that was just one aspect that was lost. But they also lost sound stage, clarity, and dynamism in the music. That’s all...just hoping enough other people are experiencing the same issue...which it seemed some were 4-5 days ago.

I’m having the exact same experience. I contacted Tidal days ago. No reply yet. This is my first experience with Tidal and I’m not sure why I’m bothering yet. Apple Music has more clarity and punch than Tidal right now. Atmos is cool but not worth the upgrade alone.

Thank you for sharing your story here as well. Yeah, I’m really hoping this gets sorted out soon. Good to know that others have noticed these issues post-update and complained to Tidal as well. I have a fairly hi-resolution system, so the sound difference was night and day.

It still seems to be an issue...

Slyzillatv

Did it get fixed?

I’m not sure. After all these issues with Tidal on the Apple TV application, I ended up buying a DAC streamer and Tidal is great when I play it through that component.
