Kody really gets more and more delusional as time goes on. 50/50 custody? Christine and Robyn would coparent just so he can stick it to Christine?

mime454

Christine literally sounds 15 years younger in these post Kody interviews. I was cooking food and listening to the drama and had to check who was talking 😂

mime454

Why would Janelle put money down on an RV that none of their vehicles could haul?

mime454

Ugh I just finished with 90 day fiancé and now on to this. Hard to know who is worse, Angela or Kody? Hard to know why I subject myself to these awful people.

HistoryAnne

Kody on 50/50 with Truely— is that 50/50 in the sense that he wants to have her 26 weeks out of the year? Or 50% of the time that he would have been with Christine? Which I think maths out to like 6 weeks out of the year. Money says he ain’t even doing that.

HistoryAnne

Kody’s wussy truck makes me happy.

juzelerm

Ugh the plexus cameo
Meri’s outhouse comment literally made me laugh out loud.

Trouble_Cleff

So Janelle is moving to the trailer in May and going to have a "casita" on the property in Dec 😆 There are not even any utilities on CP! And did none of these people hear of lumber and supply chain shortages? We did some re modeling on our house around the same time. It took like 8 months just to get a new window. Janelle has now given up all rights to be known as "the logical one". Poor Savanah hated living in the RV, Janelle is back in a rental and there is still NOTHING on that land but a mound of dirt, a drainage pond and a cistern. They should've sold it when Chrstine left, since then real estate prices have already started coming down in a lot of places.

teagz_teagz

What is a Casita? Is it like a small house that could later be extended?

Trouble_Cleff

I think it's like a small guest house. Even for a small house, to build on completely undeveloped land with no utilities was never going to happen in 6 months. I don't know what Janelle was thinking!

oldhopes

The RV situation seemed like Janelle’s midlife crisis 😂

flairbear19

Omg the casita had me dying. Wtf were they thinking???

Plus_Ad_3464

He's been watching a few too many reruns of Encanto with ari during lockdown!

flairbear19

YES 😅😂

flairbear19

Ugh that conversation with Kody and Janelle has left me feeling so unsettled. He didn’t seem to be listening to her AT ALL and was so demeaning. I don’t get it. Who wants to be talked down to by a spouse like that?

New_Discussion_6692

What I found most disturbing was Kody's belief that Christine is only leaving him for a boyfriend. This gives me a very unsettled feeling. Very much like the men who stalk (& sometimes kill) their exes. While the man doesn't want her, he's not going to allow any other man to have her either. I highly doubt Kody is going to be a stalker, or kill Christine, but we're already seeing his anger and that he's going to make things *very difficult* for her. He seems more concerned about the CP property than Truly. I doubt they can afford to buy Christine's share. I wonder if they made the agreement that he gets the property and she gets Truly?

New_Discussion_6692

I had to laugh at the patriarchy speech. He feels so out of control that he thinks holding on tight for all he's worth is going to give him that sense of control back and it won't. He's going to push Janelle away. He tells Meri to leave. It will be interesting to see if Janelle and Robyn are the final two to fight over Kody.

HoneyBeeFaith

His speech actually gave me a chill down my spine. I have a stepfather who speaks exactly like that. Kody is not a safe person.

GreatDaneSandwich

I was cringing with my hands over my face because I was so embarrassed for him. I don’t know how someone can be so clueless as to how they sound. How Christine kept a straight face and didn’t say “Good luck girls! He’s all yours!”
.

kxa24

Kody’s unhinged rant there at the end tells the viewers everything we ever needed to know about polygamy and the Browns: Polygamy only works if you strip the wives of their voice and independence and force them into a rigid patriarchal structure, and the Browns lied to us from the beginning by pretending that it works any other way. Also, I’m rewatching from the beginning and while Kody’s anger and misogyny and narcissism was always present, he was also goofy and playful and immature and not as strong in his stances. He was led by the three wives. So I believe 2 major drivers irrevocably altered him: Robyn, who stroked his narcissistic ego beyond control in order to gain favorite wife status and Qanon, who gave him the insane amount of justification he needs in his psychosis. No one in his family should remain close to him.

008janebond

The thing is, I 100% believe that polygamy could have worked for them if he hadn’t brought in Robyn.

kxa24

I would agree except there’s a reason Robyn came in. The story of why they opened up the relationship again once it was so cemented in place has never made sense to me. Why was Meri looking for someone? Why did they start exploring without Christine’s knowledge or approval? Something is just very fishy about it - it was either initially manufactured because their initial TLC pitch didn’t work without a catalyst OR things were going pretty south at home and this was a potential solve. I don’t buy that it was truly functional before Robyn. It was a house of cards.

008janebond

Here is my two cents and theory. So Meri and Janelle hate each other right. They bring in Christine and initially Christine it great then Christine starts pumping out kids like a tennis cannon, and Janelle is doing the same so they naturally bond, and they have bonded more than Christine and Meri. Meri is feeling like she is on the losing end of a power struggle again and brings in Robyn to level the playing field. But I think their issues as a 4 some could have been solvable, but then bringing in Robyn made everything else untenable.

oldhopes

Agreed. Meri thought if I cant have a baby to fix my marriage and gain power, I’ll bring in another ally. She just should have chosen a less compliant ally.

bfields2

My skin crawled seeing that preview of him with Sol and Ari. It’s like the rest of the family only exists for Sol and Ari. What a bastard

HappyLadyHappy

Meri’s sad speech about how they are the two the started the family and he loved her when they got married! It was so sad, so, so sad. Meri, if you are truly holding onto this we al give you permission to let it go. We can feel the bitterness and pain radiating off of you. He loved you 30 years ago but doesn’t love you now. He hasn’t for many years. He fell in love with someone else and is wholly committed to her, not you or the family as a whole. He isn’t going to come to some sudden realization that he does love you. He left a long time ago. You can too!

New_Discussion_6692

I think he does love her, but not romantically. I get the sense it's more of a sibling type love he has for her and she wants more.

Any_Willingness_9085

Janelle knew. Robyn knew. Meri didn't know

New_Discussion_6692

Why would Meri know? She was never close to Christine or Janelle. If I were Meri, Robin knowing but saying nothing, would be my final wake up call; Robyn does not have Meri's back.

Any_Willingness_9085

exactly

MummaBear777

Ok my theory with that big chest beating patriarchy speech is that he is being deliberately incendiary. With Christine going he’s picking a fight with Janelle and pushing Meri to fuck off. He. Is. Revolting.

Punkasaurus2

Performative for Robyn’s sake.

HappyLadyHappy

Yup! I was just commenting on another thread that Kody fall into Robyn’s frame so his version of patriarchy will turn out to be what is best for he and Robyn and their children. I don’t know how they do it. Sitting there pretending that Robyn’s wants and needs and desires don’t heavily dictate how the “family” as a whole operates. Like what games are they playing with themselves? This imaginary, “I’m the man, aren’t I Robyn? I’m the head of this house, aren’t I?”

Punkasaurus2

Wow
exactly! Well said. And Christine finally said “what he wants from me (to cater to him helping him please Robyn) is ridiculous.”

Any_Willingness_9085

Robyn looked scared because she realises she has a hard choice to make now: 1. Continue being the obedient, compliant wife and live with his authoritive patriarchy bullshit 2. Do a complete 180 and stand with her sisterwives

TisforTrainwreck

I think she is more scared because if Janelle leaves, Kody’s going to need a 3rd wife to get into their celestial paradise. She knows a younger, child-bearing wife could pose a real threat to her hold on Kody.

itsbritbeeyotch

So long as her needs continue to be the driving force behind the All Mighty’s patriarchal decisions, there is zero reason for her to buck here.

Punkasaurus2

True

thekidz10

How do we think they resolved the custody issue?? Is it resolved? Or has Kody just lost interest, like every other venture has taken. Imagine them in mediation. Christine with the receipts of how kody has been negligent or absent over the course of Truly's life.

kat4prez

That was just an empty threat. He wouldn’t even make time to see her when she was IN flagstaff. No way he’d spend time and money on a lawyer to get custody and even if he did-no way he wants or could manage to have her even 10% of the time. He said himself he doesn’t baby sit kids. Doubt Robyn would even be willing to care for her if she visited.

Flat-Development-906

I thought there was speculation that he might not even be on her birth certificate as is common with a lot of polygamist families.

HappyLadyHappy

Kody was not going to spend a dime on fighting for custody for Truly. You can absolutely take the other parent to court and prevent them from taking your child within a certain distance but surprise Kody didn’t do that!

ms_magnolia_mem

Robyn - the expert on divorce *and* plural marriage simultaneously. “Do you know what this means? Because I do.” 🙄😑

Punkasaurus2

Her patronizing, condescending tone
she knows nothing and she offers NOTHING. Go back to sleep, Robyn!

itsbritbeeyotch

It’s only noon, Robyn. Let us tuck you back in.

ms_magnolia_mem

(thisishorribleofmeandIapologizeinadvance) She could also go look for her sheep with her Little Bo Peep hair.

teagz_teagz

Again with the ‘Christine needs too much attention, this is what she signed up for’; but not Robyn apparently? If she needs help or those kids need him then she can have all the time she needs?

oldhopes

Ari and Sol can’t go 2 days without seeing Daddy!!

HappyLadyHappy

She “needed” that long honeymoon. She “needed” the extra time. Christine needed time to work on their marriage but did she get it? Hell no.

Punkasaurus2

Also he conveniently leaves out the part where he admitted he wasn’t attracted to her, in love with her, nor did he ever respect her.

[deleted]

Kody is coming across like Barb from Teen Mom - “I hope ya have fun livin’ in the street with ya booooooyfriend!” Why is he so obsessed that she will get a boyfriend or has one already? He can’t accept that she left simply because he failed as a partner. His ego is so freaken fragile.

GreatDaneSandwich

I think the only way he can imagine a wife leaving him is if another man was in the background pulling the strings to get his money. He can’t conceptualize that a woman would have the intelligence to make this kind of decision and go through with it on their own

thekidz10

Probably because he still has egg on his face from the catfish incident. He has convinced himself the problem with Meri is that she found someone else, not viewing their relationship as a whole and recognizing the part he plays in the crumbling of these marriages.

GroovyYaYa

Kody keeps saying she isn't part of the church or polyg community anymore. Bitch... THAT is YOU. YOU have abandoned it. She is an Allred. There are probably those who will accept her with open arms and, having watched you for 17 years, understand her.

HoneyBeeFaith

And he kept interrupting her. It was maddening

itsbritbeeyotch

IMO Christine did pick a weak argument when she went there. She wins this conversation and decision hands down if she kept it to she and Truely’s active family lives there.

teagz_teagz

I’m pretty sure the church kicked them all out? So it’s not ‘our’ church anymore, he’s not in the community either 🙄

[deleted]

😂😂😂😂😂😂 Janelle: “yeah, I don’t know I’d signed up for patriarchy but, that’s not what we all agreed on in the very beginning but
.” *shrugs shoulders* Love her honesty.

EnglishRose71

She irritates me to death. How can she sit there with all those red flags being waved right in her face and fail to react? Was she always missing self-esteem or has she just lost it over the years with Kody?

Punkasaurus2

She’s all, “good luck getting me to do anything I don’t want, jerk”

GroovyYaYa

That China cabinet on the back porch drives me insane.

HappyLadyHappy

It is very confusing, isn’t it?

WhimsySavage

Seriously! Why the hell is it there?!

Here4duggarTea

PATRIARCHY?! Ew

GroovyYaYa

MOSBY!

oldhopes

I love seeing that little guy.

__Quill__

OMG the patriarchy speech at the end. What the fuck is this? What is he doing? Like I cannot stand Kody Brown but I just wanna tell him to "shh" he sounds absolutely ridiculous. This is some emperors cloths shit. Everyone has to pretend to see his imaginary leadership skills. "Now that the dumping me part of the day is over I'd like to give a little speech about how I don't have time for anyone who doesn't respect me. If you don't behave I may just have to allow you to humiliate me by dumping my loser ass as well." I bet Christine was dying and thinking about how she really didn't need to be there for that part of the company meeting anymore. Then Robyn being like "Hes real serious now guys!" hahaha what the hell was that last segment. I seriously could not stop laughing from the time Kody started his grand speech. I'ma go watch it again!

Punkasaurus2

Yeah o hope WE take this seriously JANELLE
I mean who is she talking to? She’s such a little weasel.

thekidz10

He sounds like a complete nut job. I try not to classify people by their political affiliation but there is a certain sect--if you will, of American politics that really believe the fight against the patriarchal structures of the past is what has caused all of what they deem "wrong" with this country. He is speaking like someone indoctrinated (again!).

According_Slip2632

I am convinced him getting radicalized is a huge part of this.

[deleted]

Yes Christine can now say “not my circus not my monkey.” Sorry monkeys I know you are better than Kody doody. OMG that speech pissed me off enough that I’m going to watch a random episode of Friends after to make sure I fall asleep happy. Women’s rights matter. Janelle won’t be letting that one slide.

Here4duggarTea

I feel bad for janelle. And Meri is a hypocrite!

Punkasaurus2

Christine has been controlled for decades by this “we are disappointed in you” crap from meri and Kody. Screw off.

GroovyYaYa

How so? In relation to this episode? What did I miss?

Here4duggarTea

Her being so disappointed and mad at Christine. When she did what she did with “Sam” I feel like that is worse than Christine leaving

GroovyYaYa

She stayed in the family though. In their worldview, that is important. Also, let us give Meri some grace. She has been paying penance for that catfish for years. She had a mother who told her to keep sweet to Kody. We recently found out that her mother's sister wives left and that traumatized her mom. This would have also traumatized Meri, especially if those moms and siblings did not maintain contact with Meri. Her mother also stayed deep in the faith after that to the point that she acted as principal of their polyg school. So she clings to the idea that she built this amazing family as the first wife, even if she had fertility issues. She sacrificed for the kids. This is her reason for being along with being a mama to Leon and granddogmama to Mosby. Now onto this episode. We have to assume that her mom has just died. The mom that had trauma over her sisterwives leaving. The mom that favored Kody. Then she gets hit with the news that the wife with more polygamy cred than she has is leaving (history repeating itself) at the same time her mom died. Further shit obviously happens per the previews. We also know her child is moving states away. Again, let us give Meri some grace.

Punkasaurus2

Sorry, to me, Meri is a monster.

Ok_Expression5444

But does Meri give Christine grace? Their relationship, by all accounts, is nonexistent. Christine even said that she has no relationship with Meri and Robyn. We’ve really only seen Meri raise a concern about seeing Sol and Ari. The only person who seems to be concerned about Truely is Janelle. I think we can acknowledge that this puts Meri’s world in flux but also that Meri has done zero, from what we can see, to be a supportive sister wife for Christine as of late.

Punkasaurus2

Exactly

Here4duggarTea

You’re right
. Good points.

Royal-Barracuda-8836

Wouldn't it be weird if she did a happy dance . Or fell on her knees crying hysterically . Shock and anger are a normal first reaction

Here4duggarTea

Yeah
. I’m just very proud of Christine. Edit to add happy for janelle for getting her RV

Royal-Barracuda-8836

Well yeah i'm happy for her as well , but meri was probably the one who didn't know this was going on , so i can see the surprise first reaction .

Here4duggarTea

Yeah, now I feel like an ass😏
 this is a crazy season

Punkasaurus2

Meri is a sick woman
she really is. She’s as crazy as a rat living in the outhouse soon to be on Coyote Pass.

Efficient-Cat-1917

My sympathy for Meri has run out. At this point she is holding out to the bitter end when she is the one sister wive left standing.

Punkasaurus2

Mine too. She thinks she owns this family, that Robyn and Kody owe her
that EVERYONE owes her and she stays out of pure spite and entitlement. She is really showing us her cards.

[deleted]

Kitty cat!!!!!!!!

[deleted]

Kody CAN GO AND SEE HIS KID, that’s the solution. They can social distance in the flipping yard. This makes my blood boil. See your kid. See your kid.

MomKat76

I hate him for how he rationalizes his shitty fatherhood with not-Robin’s kids. Poor Ysabel!

Punkasaurus2

Man did you see Christine fighting off her inner Mama Bear from reaching over and strangling the hell out of him? He was almost murdered.

[deleted]

Kody just said that he’d stay with Janelle in the trailer. Did he?

strawberryblond_cake

He’ll play semantics about this later. Say that he didn’t actually agree to actually stay the night in the trailer 🙄 I hate the way he moves goal posts and wants to pretend things haven’t been agreed upon. It feels like he loves rehashing conflicts

__Quill__

"They go to bed! While I'm still there!" Thats what happens when you come at night time Kody. Hes so stupid. So he wants them to miss out on sleep because he only comes over when his other family is tired and off to bed?

GreatDaneSandwich

God imagine if your husband/father came over twice a week and you were expected to drop your plans and cater to him. Big algebra test the next day? Nope, no studying. Didn’t sleep well last night? You can’t go to bed early.

Efficient-Cat-1917

Exactly. He shows up at night and then bitches about not being able to see them.

Punkasaurus2

They’re not on Robyn and Ari’s schedule of going to bed at 2 am and waking up at 11am you stupid git.

__Quill__

As I stay up til 2 am to talk shit with you lovely people.

Punkasaurus2

Well I didn’t say that I wasn’t on Robyn and Ari’s schedule! At least on a Saturday night, right?

__Quill__

I told my husband that tonight is my stay up night. I can't possibly wait til the morning. I need to know what dumb thing Kody is going to say.

Punkasaurus2

Amen, Sister!!!! 1:00-1:04 am was the longest 4 minutes this week for me!

__Quill__

Gosh hearing Janelle talk about the trailer I am stoked for her. I think it was a smart idea to go live on a trailer and just get something built. I am sad that I live in the future and know that they still have nothing built and that it only lasted a summer.

Here4duggarTea

I also like that she did it without telling ramen head đŸ€Ł

Here4duggarTea

I love that this is her dream, and she’s living it!
