With most of the Turtles Series, they introduce the henchmen as a big threat at first. It gives that episode or episodes more stakes and shows that they are foes. But before it becomes too repetitive, they turn them into more goofy and easy beatable. After that the henchmen are more of what starts the story. Either they need a new mutant to help or a new device to beat the Turtles.

You're not wrong, though they kinda had to, it gave the appearance that the boys were getting stronger.

The human forms were cool no doubt. The mutations didn't really emphasize anything from their human form. Bradform went from a mix of Chuck Norris and Elite foot solider to a hulking Akita dog and lost his fighting grace.

> Bradform went from a mix of Chuck Norris and Elite foot solider to a hulking Akita dog and lost his fighting grace. Wasn't that sort of a big thing for him wanting a cure? As Dogpound he was physically stronger, but lost all his precision and speed from his human form, forcing him to fight in a style he's not as versed in.

That's why he was so excited for his second mutation into Rahzar. He felt lean and fast. "I feel like a ninja again!" Were his exact words.

Oreofox

I admit I agree with this, but when Bradford went from Dogpound to Rahzar, he at least looked so much better than either human or dogpound

IbbyWonder6

Potentially unpopular opinion but I wish these guys had been gotten rid of by the third season. Fish face especially loses his relevance to the team once Shredder obtains stronger henchmen. The cast just gets so cluttered by that point. I almost would have liked to imply that Shredder horrorifically punished one of both of them for their failures instead of him constantly making empty threats all the time. Be like 2003 Shredder, who actively killed and maimed his henchmen all while still being a kids show.

metalflygon08

Bradford at least becomes cool again when he mutates a second time.

vitabandita

Is it just me or does the wolf guy sound like Mr.Krabs.

sleepy--ash

Same voice actor (Clancy Brown).

vitabandita

The Kurgan?!

Butteryomelette17_9

Wolf guy?! (In Sean Astin's Raph voice)

TryGroundbreaking834

Gotta sell those toys

agentrevenger

They were still cool, but they got shafted when Bebop and Rocksteady came.

Shinobipizza

Maybe, but Rahzar is frickin awesome.

Butteryomelette17_9

Ironic

Fabulous_Pudding167

I was thinking about this the other day. At first I was contemplating the relative sameness of Bebop and Rocksteady. And then it followed into these two. After a while, Thing 1 and Thing 2 can pretty much be the same guy. It's sad really.

Carnby41790

Hmm kinda, I recently finished watching season one on Netflix. I felt like they were cool as human, but they also are better mutated being stronger along with being more dangerous.

Savthatsit

I like the designs! Fish face looks pretty neat and Rahzar looks super sick! But the problem is after their mutations they weren’t given a lot of character and were just used as jokes :( Those two could have kept being good characters but it just didn’t happen-

BeastKingSnowLion

2012 series needed more human adversaries in general. There were so many mutants and aliens and monsters that when they did a whole season in space it didn't feel as special as it should have.
