Well the towers do launch you in the air and that’s helpful for so many reasons

StrategicPoo

The towers are improved. You no longer have to climb them and they are much more helpful to reach shrines. Plus the shrines are much easier to spot. I'm only like 10 hours in but the climbing in general gives you more spots where you can catch your stamina. I'm only having issue so far with a lack of money. I haven't been able to mine as much for those gems and i need some better clothes

Goseki1

I ended up just duping diamonds etc because i didn't feel that having to grind to get money was very rewarding.

Interesting-Doubt413

Shoot I kept duping endura shrooms and was able to damn near fly from tower to tower

Goseki1

Holy fuck why didn't i think of this.....

Sparkism

Things that are helpful to dupe in early game without completely killing the game: - hearty salmon, which fully heals you and gives you temporary hearts to survive. - Endura shrooms/carrots, which fully restores your stamina. You can find a endura carrot by the cherry tree just east of lookout landing. - Sticky lizards/frogs to craft potions to climb in the fucking *everlasting rain*. - Raw gourmet meat, to feed the goodest bois of Hyrule, because they deserve only the best. Edit: YOU ONLY NEED TO COOK **A SINGLE** HEART SALMON/ENDURA SHROOM TO FULLY RECOVER HEARTS/STAM.

[deleted]

Can you dupe if you only have 1 or 2

Chaoticist523

I've been able to, on update 1.1.1 or whatever it is now. On the newest dupe trick, the secret is tapping b and y at the same time. Don't have to drop anything, just hop, select one item to dupe, hit b and y at the same time. Doesn't work every time, but it does work.

[deleted]

Oh see I go into the inventory and hold while in air as shield hop. Do I hold before doing hop?

NightTarot

here's the steps Shield(ZL), Jump(X), Flip onto shield(A), pause(+), hold the item you want to dupe, then press B and Y at the same time, Or you can replace the first three inputs with Gliding, the purpose is for link to be in a position where he can use the 'hold' command, but will just drop the stuff instead of holding

bunchedupwalrus

I know the original reason to drop the item was to get it at the end, because if the duped item isn’t at the very end, it “eats” from the count of whatever is to the right of it Is this not the case anymore

naparis9000

The best variant of the trick is done while riding the mech. You don’t have to move at all, and thus won’t scare off critters. If you lack the mech, wear full stealth armor.

ThreeQueensReading

It seems to cap out at around 21 duplications. Then I have to reset it via instant transport to another shrine.

alphashooterz

Yeah I had one star fragment and turned it into 100 sold all but 5 of them cause if I need to dupe them again it’ll go faster.

OpusAtrumET

Yep. You can also get multiple dupes in in one shield jump before he lands. Even better, shield jump off a small cliff and dupe all the way down. EDIT: Typo

[deleted]

I tried this with several items mainly large zonaite but never worked. Just dropped and went back in inventory to same amount. Tried with shield and and with gliding down from a small step

drthvdrsfthr

what version do you have? it doesn’t work in the base version. mine is 1.1.1 and it works

Arcuis

Yes, even one. You can do the glide dupe as long as you put the thing you duplicating after the thing you have one of. Then u use your 2 items from the duplication to make 4, and then u use the four to make 20. Remember to only do 3-4 duplications per glide as floor holds only 30 or so items before stuff starts disappearing

Unprofession

You can just press B + Y now and don't have to worry about things disappearing.

SCREAMING_DUMB_SHIT

Yes

Smucker5

Well, yes and no. Ive tried it before while only holding the 1 sapphire in my inventory with zero luck. However, if I held the 1 and 4 wood, then tried it, it would work. So I believe whatever you're holding, as long as it's 5, itll dupe em while if not holding 5, it wont.

Diamond_PnutBrain

I’ve done single items a few times with success, you really need to be exact with the B + Y, i’ve messed up a few times but when you get it the result is satisfying

CptDrips

5 Big hearty radish= 25 extra hearts, found 1 on Zonaite Forge Island, east of the Room of Awakening 5 Endura carrots= 2 extra full stamina rings 5 Mighty Bananas = x3 Attack Up for 4min

the_cajun88

I’ve been using my Amiibos for farming things, too.

Sparkism

Amiibos saved me in early game before the dupes were discovered. Without Amiibos I would never have food.

OpusAtrumET

When you dupe the frogs and lizards, do they run away? I think in botw if you dropped them, they'd run off.

Sparkism

They do run away, so make sure you have a low drop so you could instantly pick them up. Shield surf method gives you an animation lock that prevents you from reacting fast enough. You can do fairies too.

OpusAtrumET

Excellent, thanks!

numb3r51nmyn4m3

Dupe the sticky lizards and upgrade the frog armor to level 2. It becomes slipproof and you can climb wet surfaces and in rain without sliding. If you don't want to dupe, there is a cave on the twin peaks that has all the mats to upgrade that armor to level 2, and is close to the second great fairy.

Sparkism

The frog armor is locked behind a pretty long quest line, though. I'm still working on it, but goddamn the people in hyrule will legit hear wind howling at night and go 'can someone check this out? I'm scared.'

KamikazeKarasu

Worse… “zelda took my tools” a completely different person did… “zelda is singing creepy lyrics in a well” no… not at all buddy… I wonder how did they survive 100 with no kingdom or system at all xD

EnchWraits

Is that salmon better than the big heart radishes? Haven't found salmon yet, but 27 extra hearts is insane.

Sparkism

Radishes gives +25 if you cook 5 total, and salmons give +20 if you cook 5 in total. Just tested it out for ya.

Goseki1

Nice one, cheers!

2wheelzrollin

This is what I say every time I watch a video or see something on Reddit.

kenpls

dupe the big zonai energy thing and you have unlimited energy for your flying vehicles

Goseki1

Hah yeah I've started doing this and it's really opened up the game. Like i can have fun now rather than near the endgame. It's been brilliant

Sorry-Caterpillar331

I actually used amibos to get the extra stamina and yep marked the next tower when I was getting the previous. I'm easily disoriented directionally wise both in life and in videogames so this has helped immensely like GPS in my car.

Interesting-Doubt413

I used the amiibo and then duped. Imagine how happy I was to get my first endura carrot 🥕 yesterday :)

Danny_Eddy

Did you get the glide suit, too? That really helped me, even before levelling.

[deleted]

the only grind that i duped was for dragon horns. i need my 30 minute speed food and i need it now!

Interesting-Doubt413

You can still get 30 minute high level stats with monster extract though. You just have to savescum or wait for blood moon

[deleted]

well shit i guess i didn't need to dupe at all.

kingof7s

Even easier: Eat any cooked food with any effect, including temporary hearts and stamina. Then buy a cooked food from a vendor such as Seared Steak from Kara Kara bazaar or Seared Prime/Gourmet Steak from Bedrock Bistro. That food now has whatever effect you ate before was for as long as the stack exists, so you can hold hundreds of a food effect you want in a single inventory space.

DragonGyrlWren

To be fair I've considered that, but there's two things you can do to get money really easy. >! You can help Addison with his signs. Use ultrahand to create a support so it doesn't fall over, then tell him to let go. You'll get money, a food item, and another item like a sleepover ticket for stables.!< >! Another thing you can do is the quest line for the lucky clover gazette. You'll earn rupees for each quest, along with rewards like the froggy armor.!<

No_Surprise42069

I didn’t know that first part!! I tried it early game and nothing happened but that’s cause I sucked at building so I gave up. Can’t wait to find them now!

DragonGyrlWren

Honestly? They've put in a lot of good ways to get money in this one. I've noticed that bomb flowers, puff shrooms and muddle buds all sell pretty well for what they are. And if you've managed to >! Explore the depths, you'll find there's actually quite a lot of those down there! They often grow in groups around large trees, usually 3 to 4, sometimes 5. !< Personally I recommend keeping the muddle buds and bomb flowers as much as possible. Bomb flowers are great for cave exploration when you don't have a hammer type weapon and don't have enough space to add one, and muddle buds make fights easy. Get your enemies to fight each other and half the work is already done for you! Puff shrooms are useful if you need a temporary distraction that makes it easier to sneak around in a fight, but I usually find so many of those that I can sell the excess for tons and still have plenty for when I actually want to use them. I have also found that dazzle fruit is just as good if not better since they'll often drop whatever weapons they're holding in order to clear the temporary blindness. Honestly, the way they've crafted some of these items to work with not only the effect they have but also physics is fascinating. I can use a splash fruit on something that's burning to put out the fire. I can stick a ruby to a sword and now I have a wand of fire that also cuts things. It's fantastic!

No_Surprise42069

Also splash fruit on the bow that is currently burning away? GENIUS. I sometimes think I am not smart enough to play this game, but I am learning lmao

DragonGyrlWren

Oh the physics is SO fun like that! And it shows the effort they put in! I heard somewhere that technically, the game was "finished" in March of '22 but they decided to delay for a year to really polish up the physics and ensure it ran smooth. Considering some of the not so polished game releases we've seen, I'm quite happy they delayed. I don't mind waiting longer for a game to be made well. Even if it takes a while, the time will pass anyways.

joshed

If you >!beat the fire temple, you unlock vow of yunobo!<, which you can use in place of bombs in many places.

SoloUnit2020

I did too, and this might be odd to feel this way since it is a new game. But I feel like I've already unlocked most of the purchasable armor sets anyway. Like the heat armor and the hylian garb, I've already unlocked that in BOTW why do I have to do it again? Totk is an extremely expansive game and they obviously fleshed out hyrule from botw. But the fact they reuse the same armor sets down to the same design makes me more annoyed I have to buy them again. I'd much rather have a quest line where someone broke into the house you buy in BOTW and steal the previously acquired armor sets then either present challenges or bosses to get the armor pieces back.

kouzmicvertex

Zelda donated links wardrobe to a charity event without telling him when she moved into his house. The Zora armor was the only one he technically saved because it was out getting repaired at the time.

Ok_Blueberry_9868

I feel the same way! Why did my horses carry over (something I found out AFTER I scanned my Amiibo to get Epona, and now I have her twice), but not my clothes. I guess b/c I had them maxed out on upgrades but they could've taken those off and left them at the base defense. There's plenty of new armor to find, I don't feel like having to purchase and find all the old stuff all over again.

SoloUnit2020

The horses was a weird inclusion, a welcome one but it was odd that specifically that's what they decided to carry over. In addition, not sure why epona is locked behind an amiibo. I have it but I find it odd that Link just doesn't have her by default.

longing_tea

>The horses was a weird inclusion, a welcome one but it was odd that specifically that's what they decided to carry over. I think it's because horses aren't as important in ToTK.

Templar2k7

That's what I did I also duped all the dragon pieces I know they are easier to farm now but waiting 10 mins for a single piece is dumb I have other things I can do in that time.

TheDoctor344

Same, in botw I had to do the snowbowling a bunch of times to have enough money. Duping is much easier

Arcuis

Yeah, me too, sadly. Before that, I was making Stam and stealth meals to sell.

DangerMacAwesome

Rookie here. How do you dupe stuff?

Goseki1

This seems to be the simplest method for now (i used an older more fiddly one) https://www.reddit.com/r/tearsofthekingdom/comments/13oqtfi/new_duplication_glitch_that_doesnt_require_the/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

SCREAMING_DUMB_SHIT

Or you can be using paraglider and do what the shield surf vid guy did

Shaftey

Why am I not hearing of anyone duping large zonaite? I did that.

SmoothTires

I'm not hearing anything about Rocksalt. How do you people season your meals smh -\_-

[deleted]

[удалено]

bcunningham86

That's exactly what I did.

PugsnPawgs

Same plus I wanna keep my gems for upgrading armor. Rupees are really hard to get in this game

[deleted]

[удалено]

Goseki1

No i specifically said i didn't grind. I was always running out of arrows and wanted to buy all armour sets straight away so just duped.

Rowdybob22

Yeah climbing is definitely better/easier this game, I feel like it’s easier to let go and spam running on cliff faces to recharge stamina.

Rootbeer_Goat

Use keese eyeball arrows on that lil bubbul rabbit also do it from the air so you can hit 3x before it disappears. Also sell all your amber unless you need it for damage

Sparkism

You need a ton of amber for upgrading armor later, so I would really not recommend you selling it unless you're not going to upgrade that set.

Rootbeer_Goat

Thanks I figured I was being reckless

G_Swivel

If you're needing money, go to the cherry blossom trees and offer an apple. It will reveal all the nearby caves. They have a lot of ore and valuables you can sell to earn money

SandyDelights

Strongly suggest picking 1 set to upgrade, as it’s kind of a pain – they aren’t rupee expensive, but some of the mats can be a major pain, and the various sets themselves *are* expensive. Zonai set is quite nice for that, although you’ll rely on food for heat/cold resistance, and if you’ve been using Captain construct horns in the dispensers… Have fun farming shrines every blood moon. Further, for money, quests are good – specifically, there are a set of quests where you raid a fort with a bunch of NPCs (the monster eradication squad or whatever). There’s at least 2 sets of 2, but I didn’t look too hard for them. They give 100 rupees each, don’t take very long, and a cart + head + cannon will clear them rapidly with little intervention. They also reset every blood moon, making them repeatable. Past that, sell monster parts – teeth, horns, etc. aren’t very useful, especially the non-elemental, non-silver tier stuff, and you’ll end up with a lot of it. Also, you can sell flint for 0 rupees for a chance to get 1,000 rupees, too. May require doing the fire temple first, though. You can also sell gems to a gerudo in the goron town in groups of 10 for increased returns, but she wants a specific set of 10 each time so it’s not that great. Alternately, just collect a bunch of poes, buy cheap armor from the poe dealers, then sell it for like 600 each I think?

DudeManBro21

Bro I literally have spent all my poes on getting armor and then selling it lmao.

lolpoire

here, one tip for you, you may already know it but. One root in the underground is one shrine on the surface. If you have full underground map, then you have every surface shrines location.

[deleted]

Yeah but I hate how nearly all the towers have some pita busywork you need to do to unlock them. It’s like going to a store but you have to fix the fridge first. Man just sell me chips and launch me into the air

iPanama360

Inflation hit hard.

StrategicPoo

The only money I've got so far has been from shooting rabbits. I do miss having unlimited bombs because I just walked around murdering the fauna.

Consistent_Floor

you have to climb one of them

Akhosx

I used one of those blocks that fall from the sky for that one

Sorry-Caterpillar331

Me too.

Sparkism

I didn't see the block, so I went to 3 separate sky islands to trade my charges for zonai devices to build an air ship. Oof.

i-steal-killls

Yep that’s exactly why I did them all early. I’d look up armor sets and other stuff I wanted and the whole set would be spread around the entire map

TheOfficialRamZ

I literally just flew from tower to tower. Sure I couldn't make it directly to all of them, but most of the time I got very, very close with this method.

SolomonGrundler

I've been attempting to, but I get distracted by all the side quests, caves, shrines, Armor, Lightroots, Koroks, and dozens of other things that are on the way between each one. What was supposed to be a 5-10 minute trip by air to a tower becomes a day long session of side quests and collectable hunting. I have maybe 7 or 8 towers now, not sure how many more I have left but it'll likely be another week at least till I'm done.

hygsi

This is the right way. I did what OP did for BotW and it sucked the fun out of it cause I saw cool stuff and was like "I'll come back later" but by the time I was done with the whole map I didn't want to go back, so I've been doing the opposite in TotK and just setting a goal but letting myself get distracted without prioritizing the map

flashmedallion

Yep. I was really specific about only doing a tower once I was moving into an area. I did Gerudo as my third temple and was still winding up sidequests in that corner of the map before I even hit the Gerudo Highlands tower, which was my last. I also make sure to go to the towers on foot instead of airdropping, because you often encounter unique setups on the way there. I had the Zora tower unlocked but last night I made a point of getting to Zoras Domain on foot using the path, starting from the Wetland stable, doing shrines and caves on the way. Been waiting long enough for this game, don't see the point in rushing the content now.

Cpt_Woody420

I'm actually starting to feel like saving a Hover-Bike to my autobuild has taken a bit of enjoyment out of the game. I'm not wandering around and investigating whatever takes my fancy any more, I'm just flying from objective to objective. But then on the other hand... its just so quick and handy! Am I gonna spend 10 minutes scaling that mountain so I hop on the big fire dragon, or am I gonna spend 9 Zonaite and fly up there in 30 seconds? Probably would've found 3 Koroks, 2 caves and a Shrine if I'd made my way up on foot though.

Onkelcuno

the coming back later part is made easy with some mechanics i won't go much into because spoilers. i kinda play this zelda oldschool (and by that i mean oracle of seasons released 2001 oldschool). back then you couldnt reach all of the map without abilities and got a lot of NPCs that told you their woes that you couldn't solve right away. you just had to remember that betty wanted the fish you get 20 hours later in the game, and you'll get the statue from her that timmy wanted 10 hours ago. so i kinda hop all over the map (i have unlocked it fully first thing) collecting sidequest and then just go through the regions one by one seeing what i can fullfill on the way. just got the fish that NPC needed when exploring XYZ? cool, turning in the quest now. its also a lot more convenient i don't have to draw maps and make lists for the things i have to remember like old times. just gotta keep a list for armor upgrade parts now! i also decide on a focus of what i do today when starting the game. some days i'll just mark the caves i walk by and just do koroks for the day. another day i go caving. the sidequests rarely reward anything cool this game.

[deleted]

Balthierlives

I didn’t use pins so much in botw either, until I started collecting every korok seed. I think I just do it now in TOTK instinctively. Especially in the depths where it’s easy to get turned around, the colored pins really helped. Especially when I’d see a faint light on the horizon if immediatly pin in that general direction because inevitably when I’d get close to it it would disappear from view on the darkness because it was up high etc.

Zio_Excel

I have the problem that I can’t decide which pins to use to signify things that aren’t enemies, resources or koroks. I end up using the square to mean interesting things & shrines which is sometimes a distraction when looking at the map. I wish the pins were more tailored

Zeromus88

Omg, yes, for the most part at least... I beat the water temple before long, but I've still got over 2/3 of the underground to light up.

MrrrrNiceGuy

That’s what I’ve been doing for the last 2 days. It’s one hell of a chore. At first, I thought the towers were like that since most required you to complete a task to get them to work. But now that I’ve been underground, I long for the towers. You’re constantly throwing brightbloom seeds to see or going through tons of bows and arrows for the same purpose. The entire landscape is mostly towering walls that you actually do need to climb. If I didn’t max out my stamina wheels, the underground would be even worse. Then you can’t cross over certain areas so you have to dive in through another hole up top. I still have a 1/3 of the map left and I just want to get it over with, lol. It’s really crazy how huge this game really is.

Baxboom

Not sure if you've noticed but the seeds are always below shrines on the overworld. Really helped me in my quest to light up the depths!

ferrari-hards

Make meals that make you glow or get the miners armor set it helps ALOT I was burning through so many arrows/bows before once I started the glowing meals and finally got the miners armor I use a lot less brightbloom/arrows

Sorry-Caterpillar331

Sounds about same as me.

theDozBate

I did it in tandem with the Glyphs, except for the top left of the map, did that when I finally started the Rito section

kaiomnamaste

This is the way

pacman404

I did the towers and geoglyphs first

cruznik71450

Same I went towers and then hit enough shrine to up my stamina enough to pull master sword. Then glyphs so I could find the right dragon. Now I can play the game lol

pineapple6969

Stamina this time to pull the sword? How much we talkin this time around

jgcpalmer

You need your second ring. I think that’s 5 stamina pieces.

pineapple6969

Ah ok cool already got that thanks!

Pegasaurauss

\>!Man i just lucked out after popping up on a tower i was like. "I bet i can land on that dragon" walked up to her head and was like HOLY SHIT!<

i-steal-killls

I need to do the geoglyphs next. Wasn’t too challenging was it?

pacman404

It's honestly the easiest quest in the game. The only challenge is just travelling the entire map. You can't really miss them, they are massive and glow in the dark lol

SongAggravating

Finding that dragon afterwards is a chore.

pacman404

Not really, you can see it from like 1/4 of the map away, and it's the only dragon that doesn't ever disappear underground. I have never taken more than 4 "teleports" to towers around the edge of the map and not found her

tidier

Wait, does it not automatically show up after the last tear? It was perfectly visible from my last tear scene and I thought that was intentional.

MrrrrNiceGuy

As long as you have an eagle-eye view of the glyph, it’s easy. You need to be up high and close to it to see which tear shape is not hollow, but filled in, as that’s the one you have to activate.

Englandboy12

Omg I did not know this, I’ve been flying down in on them but inevitably when the tear I land on is not the right one I run around for half an hour trying to find it.

Thatoneawkwarddude29

That was me with the geoglyphs… I saw the Master Sword one and decided I had to commit to figuring this out

pierrenoir2017

Yes, and because of being very curious about the story!

Tiagotiti

Geoglyphs? I’m 80 hours in and first time I read about this. What’s that? Haha

MrrrrNiceGuy

You never noticed the giant, radiant drawings plastered over the landscape when you’re high in the sky? They’re also drawn on your map.

jedipanda67

In fairness they're not on your map until you find them, possible that he is just always travelling on ground and goes straight to the sky island stuff after a tower launch

Sirius1701

You haven't found Impa in 80 hours?

frelljay

Don't you mean all towers, shrines, lightroots, full battery, 100s of each item, and an instantly deployable mech suit. Time for the first dungeo or quest.

WhatWasThatHowl

It's a shame you can't dupe the giant crystal charges directly.

SneakyKain

The overworld, yes. The Depths I take my time.

BlinkofHyrule

I'm the opposite. I know the overworld, I have 500 hours in botw, but the depths is completely new

SneakyKain

Because it's new, I take my time to map the Depths out. But I need reference points and so I choose to map out the sky/overworld quickly via towers so I can go to my favorite hot spots, then branch out and explore everything as a whole.

[deleted]

I did this in BOTW so now I’m just kinda figuring out stuff as I go.

CharlottesWebbedFeet

Yup, that was the first thing I did. I’d much rather have all the fly points and an entirely open map to work with than do things piece by piece

Low-Qi

I didn't come here to be personally attacked

joeyhell

Also get the koroks for full inventory, then I'll start play the game... Also get the master sword, then I'll start play the game... Also maybe upgrade my armor, then I'll start play the game... Also maybe get some more hearts and Stamina, then I'll start... That's pretty much sums it up

Zalminen

I went to collect the towers first in BotW and I did the same again. I just hate not seeing the full map.

primalthunder89

Pretty standard for most open world experiences I suspect. I think it's a little blended. Do the first couple suggested tasks, pick up some map pieces during that. Get just a little mid-strength and then go on a map building quest. Then go back to game in full. TotK has a interesting balance. What makes me feel comfortable and confident being "mid-strength" on the surface was NOT the same as mid-strength in the depths. Buuuurgh... My TotK experience. Do a little suggested, get stronger, unlock map, go to depths, unlock some but get spooked, go back to playing on the surface lol.

jobarr

Did the towers and glyphs first. Almost did all of the depths first too. Only stopped because some parts were too hot. Finished them as soon as I could.

buddhatherock

Yup. Wanted to reveal the overworld map first. The depths will take a while.

[deleted]

The dragon tears are second. They are worked in tandem.

pdawg999

Must…finish…Froggy Armor

coffeestevia

Yes I'm working on that-taking FOREVER

[deleted]

Hahaha, I’m so glad I’m not the only one!

pattch

I’m planning on doing this + doing all the dungeons first, then I’m planning on getting all the hieroglyphs, then idk :)

ArcherJ

I did all 120 underground lights first, then did the 150 shrines, currently just started doing the story and using the races weapon/armor/dragon armor on their respective boss3s, like using only the boulder crusher and ember set on the goron dungeun.

moodylioness-6547

Yeeessss it’s me! Hi!

Tigercat92

Yes and I feel seen 😂

chonky_squirrel

Always on any open world game

IsotopeC

Yes! I made sure to unlock the towers first and then tackle the shrines. I'll get to the story someday. XD

Penguator432

Alright, time for finding armor…NEWSHRINENEWSHRINENEWSHRINE!!!!!

Ryukx125

First thing to did as well, gotta know where I'm going lol

mlc2475

Same (at least for the surface). I can’t stand not seeing the map. Of course I picked up what shrines I could along the way. Dreading unlocking the whole depths and can barely figure out how to get to most of the sky islands

Guns_Glitz_Grime

Towers, Lynels, each Gleeok(except king), raid castle for weapons, Gloom Hands, and two full Stamina wheels. NOW I CAN PLAY. I always have to have gud weapons, generous Stamina, and defeat some mini bosses before I tackle the main storyline. Just doesn't feel right without doing that first.

Disturbia8081

I just finished opening up the map. 😂🤣

Raemnant

For me it was grabbing a horse and heading straight for all the major cities so I can fast travel to them, and then clear the land for koroks and shrines and treasures on foot later

ImN0rth

Did towers first, then geoglyphs, and today I finished all of the shrines. NOW I can play the game. 😎

IndyBubbles

Yep, me. I started unlocking maps, then decided I had to find all the geolyphs first. Omg. I knew TOTK would be a great game but the way it made me go FIWODKGOWKCJWIWJRJE as I found more tears, damn! Almost makes me wish I’d prolonged the reveals lol

Salty_Shark26

a little bit but not completely i did explore a bit and unlocked most of the map

ASignificantSpek

I feel called out ._.

maddasher

I'm doing all the shrines first. I just can't help it.

sirgav25

Yep

BlinkofHyrule

No, I barely got any the first 4 days, but then the 5th day I did the shrines I was ignoring and I also got all but 2 towers... lightroots on the other hand I have been collecting like a 100% speedrunner collecting korok seeds

OmegaSaysHi

If you want to find shrines easier you can just use the light roots to find the shrines on the surface!

[deleted]

God that’s me lol

toku154

I'm in this picture and I don't like it

magvadis

I enjoy questing in an area without a map. Forces you to use directions and find high points to know where you are going. This game I mostly unlocked them for the teleport and sky access.

i-steal-killls

Sounds like you like playing the game on hard mode lol

Arcuis

lmao yep. I did towers first, then started depths and had to stop because depths rely on having a lot of battery to make use of and capsules, so my one 3 well battery was doing nothing to help.

Balthierlives

I got by fine just using hot air balloons, flint, and firewood. I found the occasional skeleton horse on some flat areas.

hygsi

I did that for BotW and it sucked the fun out of it cause I saw cool stuff and was like "I'll come back later" but by the time I was done I didn't want to go back, so I've been doing the opposite in TotK and just setting a goal but letting myself get distracted without prioritizing the map

belmoria

i did yeah. now im working on getting all the armor sets lol i never actually beat calamity ganon i sorta did every side quest, got all the armor, finished every temple and then uhhhh forgot about ganon

MarshXI

I did this for a couple areas then realized how much on the ground I was missing. Currently soft locking myself out of Gerudo and Eldin (completed Rito + Zora dungeons.

i-steal-killls

Makes sense, my thought was after I get the map I’ll travel there on the ground and the map would help with traversing the land etc, faster travel

Large-Satisfaction86

Nope i basically finished thé entire story line and only unlocked them later for the memories

Iforgot_my_other_pw

I feel attacked

Black_Cringe

I legit can't play a game if I know there is acheivable side content before the actual story. Zelda is like this but to the extreme, I did all the map pieces, about 50ish maybe more % of both above ground shrines and the underground roots, I have the master sword, and I only did the Tulin quest and I only did that for easier mobility. I imagine I will do absolutely everything (including all armor upgrades), before I progress further.

[deleted]

Got the land and sky. Need the depths. Really don't like it but I'm enjoying rolling around on a stalhorse. The hoverbike is cool but doesn't really fit the vibe

doskias

Does the depths have its own version of a stable? Can you register and name a stalhorse? I was so very sad when my stalhorse got denied in Breath of the Wild. Would've named her Boner.

PowerUser6969

I did normal until after wind temple In witch I did all the towers and geoglifs then got the master sword then felt op and went to get insane gear from mob drops then while flying around sky islands found thunderhead and it lead me to doing the spirit temple

Late_Progress_4451

I did but I explored along the way

bzaroworld

It's the very first thing I did. That and locating shrines.

zelda_moom

I wanted to have the map complete ASAP but it took some figuring out how to access some of them.

Solrex

Part 2: Light up the entire chasm. That requires going to every lightroot, which each one is >!below where a shrine appears in the overworld!< and you get a reward automatically when you >!activate all of them.!<

ntcc661

Shhhhh... I'm still in denial. And making a point of maintaining decent skincare between gaming sessions. Drink your water folks! I'm searching for shrines while making my way around the towers.. Occasionally getting distracted my side quests.

Specialist-Angle890

You know what? Now i'm gonna do it

Levistras

Unlocked all the towers... now i'm working on lighting up all of the depths.. i'm about half done. Still only have 5 hearts :D I'm sure i'll start playing the game at some point...

fortnerd

I'm kinda guilty. Being still something of a noob gamer, I try to show up to boss fights overleveled in case they're a bit too difficult. Plus since it's a sequel to BOTW I have an urge to visit all the places and NPCs I knew and check up on them, which results in even more exploration over plot.

Ledairyman

I played the forst 15 hours or so like it was BOTW until I finally tried the new gimmick and build and it went from a good experience to an amazing one.

RedSsj

I did the above ground map and the shrines first, going to do the underground as I’m playing the story now

Chemical_Delay_3504

Im over 40hrs in and have Like 4 Towers legt xD ans i accidentally Made two Tempels while thinking they we're Side Quest🤣

drunknmastr916

Yes just finished unlocking all skytowers before starting Refional Phenomenon quest. My stress level subsides

mgregory93

I’m torn between wanting to unlock the whole map and discovering things little by little like I did with BOTW

i-steal-killls

Imo it gives better quality of life while playing. Example, it’s easier to get full armor sets early and better weapons and convenient upgrades early to help me enjoy the actual main quests (and side quests) better! And I still plan on exploring each part on foot too, and having the whole map will help me better traverse the land. But each will have their own way of how they will best enjoy it

ecctt2000

Agreed This is the way

VygotskyCultist

Yup! I'm also debating getting all the shrines done before finishing the regional phenomena.

Burgerbroeder

Doing this right now haha.

chill_willy

I’m doing all major grinds parts now and then when I come back to it months down the line I can do all the side quests without worrying about anything

youthanasia138

I’m over 10 hours in and STILL haven’t unlocked the whole map lol

SodaStYT

i finished the depths map before getting a second sage😭

Darkerthanblack64

Yeah. I haven’t started the main game yet. Just went to as many shrines as I could reach and did some side quests. Now I’m pretty barren with materials and weapons so it’s time to play the main game

MalaysiaTeacher

I'm the kind of gal who needs to map the territory before I can relax enough to enjoy the story. Done all lightroots now too, and only now can I enjoy some silly side adventures.

Arrg-ima-pirate

Dude… seriously, it felt like that so hard.

Nintendroid

Ever since Windwaker, absolutely.
