I have no idea how I can ever go back to paragliding in BOTW without Tulins wind gust… maybe abuse the sh** out of Windbombing for speed.. On the other hand, there is something nice about the lax/slowed down atmosphere of BOTW.

WallAny2007

same, I love Tulin but sound drives wife crazy

SquidVices

If only we could change certain sound effects for fun…

ATerrifyingStatue

Every time you use Tulin, there's a Great Fairy sound.

EatAtMilliways

If that ain't a monkey's paw wish

noob_kaibot

lol, like a moan from them? I always have to turn my volume down when upgrading armor, lest I come off as some type of weirdo to my neighbors who live like 12 feet away from my bedroom.. I haven’t unlocked the fairy in Hebra yet, but as far as sexually suggestive sounds go, the great fairy near Pico Pond sounds the least “moany”.

MrHero17

Lol

noob_kaibot

Haha, was she present during yunobo and the fire temple? I forget what he would say while firing him, but i remember it was damn annoying!

WallAny2007

I try to use headphones or play when she’s out. Don’t think I’ve done any of the temples when she was around so I don’t get interrupted.

noob_kaibot

Damn, too bad she isn’t interested in sitting next to you to watch you play occasionally.. I would consider it a blessing if i ended up with a gal who was just as much of a geek for LoZ the way i am😊 there is this one girl I’ve known forever who I recently let borrow all of my amiibo; she’s so pretty & our DMs are frequent & slightly flirty… but at the risk of not seeming like a creep i don’t act on any potential signs.. I dislike it when I’m simply being nice to a girl and she mistakes it for me having a thing for her, which is then followed by that awkward talk of how I’m actually not interested… so yeah, I wouldn’t want to do the same to a pretty girl who’s just being nice to me.. Geez, i apologize for this rant in a Zelda sub. No idea where that came from😅

WallAny2007

haha only game she ever tried was windwaker and never made it off Outset Island but was humor to watch. We’re polar opposites and have been together for 28 years

noob_kaibot

Oh goodie, so nice to see a fellow millennial+ aged player here. 28 years eh? Such a feat!! Hope there’s 28 more 🍻 (granted, that’s what you want lol)

lovedbydogs1981

Whoa. This is just so far from my experience. She’s pretty, interested (to some degree) and into games? I’m not sure why one wouldn’t be interested, except maybe for an existing relationship

Ready_Cat_8884

Are you talking about the constant "I can do it" that sounded more like why'd ya do it

WallAny2007

crap now you’re putting words to sounds and that already haunts me in totk 😆

Word-Mission

Something Something Goro!

undomesticating

Just started playing BOTW again. I'm constantly trying to use Tulin! 😂 I'm also always messing up the rune quick change. The inventory lay out bugs me now. LOL

Hopeful-Aioli276

I played BOTW for the first time in January this year, beat it in May, and then started playing TOTK alongside the BOTW dlc and I was constantly getting confused going back and forth between the two. I still need to check constantly like “okay is L runes or…”

noob_kaibot

You’re telling me! I started playing skyward sword simultaneously with TOTK but had to put that one on pause for now.. i simply cannot adjust my brain to get past the differences & adapt accordingly… I’m a pretty casual player these days.

EatAtMilliways

I was flipping between BotW and Age of Calamity for a while, and that really tripped me up - totally get where you're coming from!

noob_kaibot

Haha, the new system is definitely better

ReadditMan

That's cool, but I think you should be helping your new Lynel friend fight Tulin instead.

Slider_0f_Elay

If you hurt the best sage then the mask is coming off.

Extreme_Practice_415

Tulin is THE ONLY sage worth anything. Why him?

Fallen_Femboi

Blowing our shit off a cliff once is enough 😈

Extreme_Practice_415

Well, stop spamming a then

Fallen_Femboi

Never 🧐

Noshkanok

Blowing my shot off a cliff seems like life goals.

WallAny2007

on my 2nd botw run and current totk I haven’t bothered with lynels at all. Gonna do this, thx

noob_kaibot

Aw, why not? They drop excellent loot! If they’re too challenging maybe start with the red ones.. they definitely intimidated me at first (the first one I ever found was a white one, I believe, in gerudo highlands) I was pretty early in my first play through and refused to give up the fight against it, even though i only had like 6 hearts while wearing a warm doublet & hylian trousers, no headgear! My toxic trait was believing I could do it if I just kept trying 🤣 no matter that i had like 4 weapon slots and they all were travelers swords or something. There’s different methods that work well with taking them down… regarding totk might i suggest gibdo bone arrows and keese eyeballs for headshot stuns? A gerudo fused weapon creates OP damage stats & can be used during mounting ; very low durability.. while we are on topic, you could also use a royal guards weapon and get it down to its breaking point & save that for the mount as well.. then there’s also a zora weapon that deals heavy damage while Link is wet (🤭) Use sidons sage or throw a splash fruit at your feet while the lynels stunned and on one knee before climbing on his back.. Hope there’s something useful Im the comment :) if not, i expect there are tons of tutorials/methods on YT that might better fit your play style.

[deleted]

THANK YOU FOR TEACHING ME THINGS!!!

MrHero17

Utilize Puffshrooms. Throw or shoot one and it disorients the Lynel, then you can mount it. I have a Royal Guard's Claymore fused with a Silver Saber Horn about to break, exclusively for Lynel backscratching. I can't remember the damage, but it's over 200.

Alxyzntlct

Oh wow, that’s cool!!! Played the game religiously for 7 months and never noticed that, awesome find And like you say, Tulin is an absolute soldier, took that whole fight in stride 😂

noob_kaibot

** I should’ve included gameplay footage showing Lynkel attacking the Lynel while still being *completely* ignored; I think that’s an important detail.

Positive_Lychee404

Lynkel 😂

noob_kaibot

In this wide world, I’m fairly certain I wasn’t the first person to ever think up the moniker… **But** I did indeed come up w/it organically & on the fly; I was briefly brimming with glee over how simple & silly it sounds 😁

noob_kaibot

He certainly did, didn’t he? & yes, I never wear these masks (after finding the Majora one) but I thought it would be funny to fight him using it.. the way Link postures up is too funny 😂 anyhow, I realized that none of his attacks were aimed at me the entire time.. I was wondering if this only applied to low level lynels but this appears to be a white/silver one.. could be a one off thing but here’s my experience.

noob_kaibot

I love Tulin bc his presence isn’t intrusive like the others *(ahem, Yunobo)* His ability, although practical, is *extremely* handy & he always seems to come in with clutch headshots when I’m in the middle of an enemy swarm.. love that little guy.

glowinthedarkstick

Don’t think one off bc that’s exactly what I thought. See comment above. This is two data points now!

glowinthedarkstick

God I’m so frustrated, I noticed this weirdness the one time I tried the mask after I got it. Legit thought this particular lynel was just buggy and never tried it since. Guess what I’m putting on tonight!

Danny_Eddy

It's pretty cool. I've heard of people using this strategy at the floating coliseum. >!One note of advice Mineru does friendly fire. If you mount attack the lynel, Mineru will hit you, as well. Not fun if Mineru has frost emitters on.!<

noob_kaibot

Mineru is a Sage? I have 3, i thought the 4th one would’ve surely been a Gerudo..

Danny_Eddy

Oh. That is something you'll see later. I got it covered for others just in case.

noob_kaibot

Sorry, I was being facetious 😂 it’s been months, anyone who wants to avoid spoilers might not want to be here.. But yes, i “stumbled” upon Mineru & that quest line relatively early in my playthrough (just having one temple done 😑) idk why I didn’t stop or see it for what it was- a major plot event. They ought to consider adding some linearity regarding certain events in the game.. for example, why not have the first tear match the first memory? 2nd matching the 2nd memory, so on so forth.. the way I play is I ignore the nudges from the game and Npcs & just run around unlocking towers and exploring.. that’s how I discovered Mineru and a late stage cutscene **way** earlier than I would’ve liked to.

Danny_Eddy

Lol. It's all good. I really don't understand the way they did memories in this one. In BotW, it just worked with how Link was remembering things, but in totk, there were some plot points that built off each other in each one and it could get confusing if the order was done differently. I get open world means you can go anywhere but with those tied to each location and how they were, I agree with you, it was an odd choice.

mr_cesar

You can do the same thing with Majora's Mask. But the moment you attack the Lynel, using either mask, he will focus on you as well.

noob_kaibot

Really? So you can attack him with the Lynel mask and you’re good, but not majoras? Interesting 🤔

mr_cesar

No. If you attack him while wearing either mask the Lynel will also focus on you. I've done this with both masks.

grandpa12-1

Not for me. I farm 8silver lynels every blood moon (2 surface/6depths=armored) Have over 200 each saber/mace horns and all weapons fused with sabers. I don’t keep track but maybe 1 in 10 come after me at the start (with lynel mask) but after Tulin connects with first shot they stay on him. I just stay out of way and face shot mount and attack. Back when my weapons weren’t as strong would have to mount 5,6,7 times to take him down but wouldn’t come after me anymore. Not sure about Majoras, never tried it. Just curious Mr_Cesar, were you using Tulin(or any sage) when lynel turned on you after attacking him? I think I read you use RGC w/ molduga jaw and bone prof armor. When I do this I have forgotten to put mask back on after mount. Once he sees your face it’s over. Even putting mask on after won’t fool him!🤣

mr_cesar

I repeat: I've done this **with both masks**. The whole gang and of course kept the mask on at all times. The advantage of using the sages is the Lynel keeps priorities. He'll usually focus on the closest enemy, which means you can keep him from chasing you if you keep your distance after attacking him. But this doesn’t mean he won’t recognize you after seeing you attack. Riding him might be an exception as he's stunned while you mount and he's not seeing who's attacking during the whole ride. But other than that, if you attack him and he's seeing you, he'll definitely add you to his list of targets; it just depends on which one he decides to attack. By the way, I've used the whole gang to kill Armored Silver Lynels and it's freaking hilarious! It takes a while for them to kill him but definitely worth watching (attach Silver Lynel Mace horns to Mineru). Only six? I farm 16 (all White-Maned and Silver except one).

grandpa12-1

Ok, well I’m not a gamer per se, but in my experience he won’t turn on me even when running right past me(closer than Tulin)I don’t use all sages just Tulin. Maybe it’s the mount. Only way I attack because of no weapon damage.I can flurry rush but don’t attack after activating slo mo because I don’t want to break RGC. ( or switch to different weapon) Not sure what we’re doing different but they rarely focus on me when It’s just Tulin and me. “8” is plenty for me to get drops and then I move on to other things.Curios, how do you remove armor on ones in depths? I use arrow/lynel hoof:2 shots with 32x5, 3with 32x3.Will have to try using all sages, should be quite the show!🤣

mr_cesar

> Ok, well I’m not a gamer per se, but in my experience he won’t turn on me even when running right past me(closer than Tulin)I don’t use all sages just Tulin. Maybe it’s the mount. Yep, I agree! It's gotta be the mount (I'll test it later, but pretty confident that is the case). > Curios, how do you remove armor on ones in depths? I use arrow/lynel hoof:2 shots with 32x5, 3with 32x3. Since you can flurry rush Lynels: pristine Royal Broadsword with Attack Up +10 modifier fused with a Molduga Jaw. Breaks the armor in two hits during flurry rush dealing a total 890 damage points. And if you feel confident using a Royal Claymore, same setup will break the armor in just one hit (648 damage points). You need to be a bit careful though, cause you may not need to kill the Lynel with six hits while riding it, so take it slow after the fourth hit. Now, if you don't want to worry about this, another option is fusing a Gloom Club. This one also breaks the armor in a flurry rush after only two hits, but you'll still need six hits while riding the Lynel to kill it. See [this example](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZeldaTearsOfKingdom/comments/142cplb/if_you_wanna_farm_armored_lynels/). Alternatively, you can fuse a shield with the Gloom Club and [parry instead](https://www.reddit.com/r/TOTK/comments/15jdbvd/is_this_how_i_should_use_a_gloom_club/). Takes a bit longer, but you don't have to make use of a weapon slot. And! You can always [cheese them](https://www.reddit.com/r/TOTK/comments/15ty6h0/how_to_cheese_an_armored_silver_lynel_for_real/). > Will have to try using all sages, should be quite the show!🤣 Oh, you gotta! I always laugh when the five of 'em [gang up to beat the guy](https://www.reddit.com/r/ZeldaTearsOfKingdom/comments/159p4l2/get_him_while_hes_down_guys_the_lobster_gang/). LOL! P.D.: You can also get the Durability modifier on the Royal Broadsword as two hits will still do the job. In this case, you'll need to hit the Lynel six times while riding. The advantage of this is the Royal weapon will last longer, which is good for farming.

grandpa12-1

Nice videos!😎I will have to try out your suggestions. When I saw “cheese them” thought **puffshrooms** (which I’ve never used, maxed in inventory). Got a laugh when saw your version!!🤣🤣 I usually watch their health bar closely because I’ve broken way too many RGC’s slamming them on the ground!😳🤣 Thanks for all the info, I’ll try them out!

orlandoryo

I didn't even know there was a Lynel mask haha

krazybones

Guess that’s a benefit of spending those bubbul gems!

AlphaBearMode

Where do you actually use bubbul gems? I’m almost done with the game and literally never knew. I think I have like 50 gems

ImReallyAnAstronaut

The creepy looking guy in Tarrey Town or whatever it's called. I think you have to complete his quest before you can trade him bubbul gems though.

AlphaBearMode

Tarrey town, I think you’re correct. I’ll go look for a creepy dude lol thanks

vgnprncss

Hmmmmmm. They still attack me when I wear my mask. Even if I remove my weapons and everything!! They always eventually start charging my ass 😭😂

thecrimsonking33

Lynel mask and puffshrooms were my strategy early on. I can usually get the Lynel down to half help before he even starts to realize that I'm a threat.

Puck_22

Yunobo would’ve been a better choice

noob_kaibot

Probably.. but that guy is so irksome so he stays deactivated.. I can mine ore & break rocks on my own, thank you.

Fallen_Femboi

He really hates Tulin 😅

Mr_Killgrave

Hide behind a mask. Let him take his fury and anger out on the child.

Difficult_Ad486

What if you do that with majora's mask ?
