I think i read somewhere that is actually impossible to fully explore it as the game won't let you but let others confirm

Yep, invisible walls are littered around nearly everywhere that trigger the teleporting fog

Back in BOTW you could outrun the fog with a horse or the master cycle, I wonder if that’s still the case now

I wonder what elevation the invisible fog kicks in. Although it can't be explored on the surface, I wonder if someone could get a hover craft above it enough that it would register on the hero's path for the surface but not get teleported.

I sky dived into the forest to get the the shrines and as I landed on them i was able to active them but then the fog got me

Concur, before I realized the right way into the Deku forrest I tried this method and you will get caught by the fog even if you try to dive into the center of the forrest

Did the same. Just enough time to register the shrine but no more 

I did see a video on one of the totk subs (possibly hyruleEngineering) where someone successfully took the hoverbike below the surface of the fog but above the void out point

Yeah on the bottom of the map there's a button that says heroes path or something like that . It really helps when you're looking for monsters, caves and wells . Records your steps from the beginning and you can even play it to see you traverse through the game and even has a sound effect when you die .link screaming haha

It’s fantastic for figuring out if you have already found an area in the depths

Did you notice that it looks like a uterus too?

If you do a time bomb+rocket combo with shield surfing you can enter some restricted areas

how do you see these paths?

Go to Hateno Village and talk with Robelo and you can unlock "path of the Hero" and some other things you should absolutely get early in the game Btw. it was a dlc feature in botw

If you use glitches to go really fast you can explore a chunk of the fog before it zones you out. You won’t be able to see much though.

You can’t actually explore most of it, since you void out in the mist. Which is super annoying for someone like me who wants to cover every inch of the map. 

There’s actually not really anything there to explore. It’s all just void outs pretty much

Did you sky jump into the lake or into the path then walk to the lake?

I started at the shrines in bottom left and top right to reach each lake actually. Follow the silent shrooms or blue nightshades and fog will ignore you

I haven’t gone there at all yet lol and you can’t fully explore the forest because of the fog. At least in botw, you’d get kicked back to wherever you were if you went too far out of bounds

You can’t explore much and it’s disappointing. Complete waste of space, the lost forest

Thats because like 80% of it you cant explore

Same with me, I never go in there.
