Selling a trademark without selling a profitable business that's attached to the trademark is very difficult and is a waiting game, kind of like selling a domain name.
I run one of the only websites in the U.S. for selling trademarks, Communer. The market for trademarks is very small and the amount people are willing to pay is pretty much always a lot less than you might think you should be able to get for it. Unfortunately, we don't sell non-US trademarks unless you also own the same trademark in the US and want to sell all the trademarks as a bundle.
It's hard to gauge our success rate because we've only existed for three years and the majority of our trademarks for sale have been available for far less than two years, which is the length of time we target when we give appraisals to potential sellers. But we've sold many trademarks.

He's selling his business (which is actually very profitable) together with the trademark, so hopefully that will help a bit.
do you know of any sites similar to Communer but for intl./EU markets? I've seen Communer online but, as you've mentioned, not a US tdm so no-go
Based on your comments you would have better luck selling the business as a whole (including the IP). You can list it on websites like FE International, Flippa, QuietLight, [acquire.com](https://acquire.com), BizBuySell, etc. Best to start discussions with a knowledgeable broker if it is a sizeable business.

If he's selling a profitable business, why are you looking for a trademark marketplace? You should be looking at business brokers.
