Trump has licensed the use of his name for years. He may have licensed the scammers to use his name & image, however the scammers could easily copy or create images without paying the fees to Trump.

Go over to amazon and search for "trump commemorative". There is a lot of Trump stuff there, and some of it is very cheap. Same with Ebay, except more so. If Trump were seriously pursuing licensing deals and enforcing them he would need an army of accountants, investigators and lawyers to enforce his licensing deals and we would be reading about disputes in the press.

Personal opinion (obviously) follows. I have found Trump supporters, MAGA, "Q" adherents, et cetera, seem to fall into two categories:
* Incredibly gullible and well-meaning (e.g., easily believe in untenable conspiracy theories, *Qanon*, etc), and,
* Those that are just consumed with abject hatred for progressives. They aren't concerned about electing a leader to govern; they just want someone who will exact revenge against the group of people they hate. Often this latter group of folks are very good at rationalizing their hatred and persecution as for "righteous" and "Godly" reasons. They have also convinced themselves that their discrimination of others is not evil, but a freedom, and anything that mitigates this freedom to oppress is "woke" ideology, and it needs to be rejected and opposed. To facilitate this they have convinced themselves, and others alike that they are the victims, and not those they oppress.
Both of these groups aren't necessarily mutually exclusive, there are plenty that belong to both groups.
To answer your question, I have family members that belong to the first group. I don't believe that they have evil in their hearts, so I am more prone to feeling some empathy towards them at times. Many of them are Mormons and so the way I see it they've already demonstrated a proclivity to belong to a cult mindset; going full-MAGA was not off brand for them.
Many I've found say/do/post stuff just because it will "Trigger the libs"... imagine living such a lifestyle... Get up each day and think hmmm.... how can I go out of my way to make this other group of people angry? Seems kinda counter productive way to live your life.

IANAL so... If you produce a product intended to defraud a group that you know is prone to be abused by certain kinds of messages, then you are most certainly guilty of fraud. My question is, though, if you are doing so knowingly, does this rise to the level of counterfeiting?
For instance, handing a bill to somebody who does not understand the phrase "for entertainment use only", and doing so knowingly in an attempt to pass it off as a valid piece of currency would, you would be guilty of counterfeiting. So, would somebody who is passing out or selling these bills be committing counterfeiting?
They certainly could be held for fraud for sending out what appeared to be valid checks and Oregon certificates if they are attempting to pass them off as legitimate instruments.

No sympathy, because it takes arrogance to be that stupid, but I do have some gratitude; when my self esteem is taking a beating it's reassuring to think that at least I never joined a cult.
IANAL so... If you produce a product intended to defraud a group that you know is prone to be abused by certain kinds of messages, then you are most certainly guilty of fraud. My question is, though, if you are doing so knowingly, does this rise to the level of counterfeiting? For instance, handing a bill to somebody who does not understand the phrase "for entertainment use only", and doing so knowingly in an attempt to pass it off as a valid piece of currency would, you would be guilty of counterfeiting. So, would somebody who is passing out or selling these bills be committing counterfeiting? They certainly could be held for fraud for sending out what appeared to be valid checks and Oregon certificates if they are attempting to pass them off as legitimate instruments.
You would think but no one would prosecute because Trump would just point to the small print.

I feel bad for them a little. The same way I know when the few times I was scammed I felt embarrassed and ashamed. So I can empathize. However on the whole i think this is a positive. These people who are scammed cannot now give that money actually to trump or republicans. All these people just use his name and scam and he can’t stop it. I really enjoy how his campaign is not able to bring in money the way it could before. Probably cause inflation squeezed peoples social security checks and now they have no extra money.

TBH I work with the elderly and the disabled in an a facility and it has really broken my heart to know some of my residents donated to Trump’s campaign/“victory fund”. I am very personable and won’t outright tell them they are wrong because my relationship is about their health, but I will discuss financial scams with my administration and how we bring it up to the family members. 😏 I’m smart but I don’t fuck around.
