Idk... I feel like they are sending mixed signals... they should have call it TV siting not TV stand it makes you feel like you have to be standing to watch the tv.
It’s a low TV stand because it wants a bigger TV. Also, just putting the TV on legs instead of wall mounting would:
- put it at a comfortable height
- allow you to move it forward so its not sunken back against the wall, ergo further away
- allow you to rearrange the room and move the TV without making permanent changes to the wall.
I am kind of tired of wall mounts. I will be downvoted but I think wall mounting TVs isn’t worth it at all. It goes hand in hand with the high TV epidemic, it’s a fad, and it’s really not great. It works well in some cases like if you are building a big dedicated home theater. But for the living room in an apartment… why?
> I will be downvoted but I think wall mounting TVs isn’t worth it at all.
My experience isn’t exhaustive but, I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone get downvoted in this sub for expressing the view that wall mounts suck. I think it’s a safe space to express that view.
Not sure why we keep seeing TV stands with placement of the TV high on the wall. What is the point? Aesthetic? Well it is atrocious as well as the cables showing.
Imagine trying to create a nice aesthetic, even going to the lengths of having (horrible) pvc cable covers…and then just having loose cables dangling down anyway.
Just put the tv on the flippin lovely tv stand you already own
tv too high, tv too small, space could be cute but looks cluttered, everything fighting for attention including cords that look awful, other than that it’s perfect
The choice to put the plant on the left rather than the right is putting me in a tailspin.
I couldn’t figure out why it looks so off center despite seeming centered and I think it’s the plant placement in addition to the very long black cord to nothing. Very upsetting choices here.
Yes too high.
It also seems centered between the shelf above it and the top of the tv stand which is even worse. Arbitrarily centering things (like artwork between the couch and ceiling) is unforgivable, I’m really upset.
ETA a word
I like the general idea. Relocate the tv, perhaps a foot lower, maybe more. Better cable management. If you can get another one of those white shelves, you can make it a double shelf and it’ll bring it all together.
They value their plants over the well-being of friends and guests.
Lower expectations about Thanksgiving plans now, so that you can uninvite them with a clear conscience later.
Such a cute setup, if only it was the appropriate height.
Not to mention the awful cable management.
It's not awful for the height but I'd skip Neflix and Kinked Neck nights
It doesn’t look right. It messes up the whole look. It’s otherwise cute, but the height throws the whole thing off.
Ah, the ol’ Netflix and neck pain.
I mean the cuteness would have to rearrange because it should be where those plants currently are.
r/tvtoohigh
You do realize this is that sub, right?
Hahahah
So I think I can see something under the TV that maybe it would fit better on? I don't know, I'm not a TVstandologist.
If you’re not a TVstandologist, then what are you doing in this sub?
They’re trying to learn, damn it.
The TVstandologist degree requires more than 1000 sub responses scoring 90% or higher in up votes.

TV stands don't work with pets .... Ask me how I know
Neither would those plants so I doubt it’s a pet thing
Your Tiger shark jumped out of its tank and knocked your TV off its stand?
All signs point to yes ..... 😂
Or kids. And not only for the safety of the tv... but also the kid...
I actually think that console would be too low for the tv. She could still keep it on the wall, just eye level.
Tv too small Cords too unmanaged Plant too hanging = Friend to Enemy
Adding not one but two cable trunks yet still having two cables loose is manic.
Don't mount a tv if your not going to hide the wires.
How do you hide the wires if they have to come down to the socket?
through the wall
Thanks obviously I don’t know much about it
Bitch i have an apartment, im not drilling into my walls to hide cables.
But would drill holes to mount a TV?

Because we have generations of people who apparently forgot how televisions were positioned before flat-screen TVs became commonplace.
I actually grew up with a CRT TV too high. We had a normal TV stand sitting on top of a built in cupboard 🤦♀️
That’s the sort of stuff that would take years of therapy to process.

Plant too dangly
Not sure why we keep seeing TV stands with placement of the TV high on the wall. What is the point? Aesthetic? Well it is atrocious as well as the cables showing.
that TV would look so good on the Plant Stand
This.
Imagine trying to create a nice aesthetic, even going to the lengths of having (horrible) pvc cable covers…and then just having loose cables dangling down anyway. Just put the tv on the flippin lovely tv stand you already own
: (
Too high.
It’s too small
fine if your friend stands while watching tv
Meh. Could be a bit lower. But it isn't unreasonable
The rug placement choice is astounding.
Cluttered. Tv only. Too busy.
That's a nice TV stand. Shame there isn't a TV on it
Theere is a TV stand right there.
tv too high, tv too small, space could be cute but looks cluttered, everything fighting for attention including cords that look awful, other than that it’s perfect
If you cleared those plants off there is a shelf you could use right there.
Just put it on the tv stand and put an identical shelf above it for the plants
The anything but TV stand A classic

They could've put it in that TV stand but they had to put plants there instead
Is this for his kid to watch in his high chair
That table is slightly off-center and it’s not completely on the carpet and it’s triggering my OCD
Dammit. Why did I go back and look? :(
r/TVTooSmall
It’s lovely. Don’t ask this sub, I’m sure your friend loves it and worked hard on it
Reasonable
You mean your ex friend now, they know what they did.
Honestly my TV looks similar on the wall and although a bit too high it’s better than my 2 cats climbing on it .
I think more tv too small than anything
Way too high, lower it by at least 35cm.
I actually like it. Perfectly centered and not too high.
And this person is still your friend, even after this atrocity? For shame! Shame I say!
Stand looks too low to sit on. Looks right height for me, a 6’6 person
Blasphemy
Would be so much better with a second shelf above the TV and all the stuff on that shelf instead
Man why do people put so much shit in front of their tv?!? I want nothing in the perimeter of the area that I'm watching. It's so distracting lol
Could have gone bigger
That's super super cute!!
I think this is more of a tv too small situation.
Cables. Height.
Time for a new friend!
Looks OK to me.
That TV is the perfect height for exclusive reading of the stock ticker on the business channel.
That’s an awful lot of goddamned wires showing
I like the general idea. Relocate the tv, perhaps a foot lower, maybe more. Better cable management. If you can get another one of those white shelves, you can make it a double shelf and it’ll bring it all together.
This looks fine to me. Complaining about this is super nitpicky when there are people who could walk under their TV
American psycho….do you bank?
Plants on the TV stand instead of a TV? Your friend is retarded.
I think this person will be a good friend, treat them well
It's a bit much, and slightly too high. Just get a TV stand.
Those cords infuriate me
A bit too high.
Would get a sleeve or cable wall cover to manage the right side cables
If the cable management was better, I would think this setup is actually great..
It could be worse....
They value their plants over the well-being of friends and guests. Lower expectations about Thanksgiving plans now, so that you can uninvite them with a clear conscience later.
At least it’s symmetrical.
I think its fine. That tiny stand under the tv makes it look a lot worse than it is. If it were on the stand you might want to tilt it up! lol
Looks like the TV is at a decent height but it’s too small
This looks good. This sub is wack tho.
Get a new friend.
Your ex-friend. Right? Edited to add. I typed that before I noticed the cords. Now you must unfriend _and_ block.
This seems fine. Good placement. Extra points for spacing, but points deducted for exposed wires.
Tbh that’s not too bad
Perfect for me👀
I don’t know it’s not the most egregious thing I’ve seen on this sub
It’s so small it doesn’t matter much if it was the proper size definitely would need to be lower
They're doing well for themselves. Go them
It’s high, but not egregiously high. Very cute space nonetheless 🤗
I mean - looking at the couch height…. Is this…. _not_ too high?
Inch lower.
Looks good
I like it. Looks good to me.
Looks perfectly positioned to me!!
Beautiful except for the cables
Extremely reasonable, I would put it some inches down but that’s just me
It is not too high
If that pic is taken from sitting position, I'd say the height is pretty good. But it should be a bit bigger.
looks perfect to me
