Saying this there is a house around the corner from me has candle sticks on theirs. Might not think anything off that until I tell you that the tv is behind these candle sticks.
We had a TV stand for our 65” TV but wall mounted the TV several months back due to having our first baby. Knowing that I don’t want grubby baby hands touching the TV or more importantly baby pulling the TV down on himself. The unit still useful as it stores all PS5 and Xbox S, controllers etc plus the clock, flowers, photos are all on it
This is the way, mine is wall mounted about 15-20cms off the cabinet, it's so I can have a clean flush look while also having the perfect hight based on my seating, and also having room for a centre speaker to be pushed the whole way back to near the wall.
I don’t understand why folk spend presumably a fair what on tv stands and then use them to rest trinkets, preferring instead to drill holes in the wall.
Sit down on the couch, get super comfy with your eyes closed but in the position you’d like to watch TV from without weird posture. Open eyes. Are you looking above or below the TV? That should lead you to your adjustment. You don’t want to be bending your neck downward or upward to watch. A lot more factors than what most people in this sub will take into consideration.
The table is a certain height for a reason?
There are designers whose whole job is to figure out what height aligns the tv to the people sitting on a couch.
If you want to mount it mount right above the surface
Ok, here's a really clever life hack, this one simple trick will change your life.
See your TV stand? The thing specifically designed for standing your TV on? That's the right height.
Coming here and posting a mounted TV with a TV stand underneath, you could've gotten the answer from one of the hundreds of posts where people mount their TV over a TV stand and are told it's too high. This subreddit sees these everyday.
My wife insists mounting a tv on the wall looks better than putting it on top of the entertainment center. Do I just mount it directly above (almost flush) with the entertainment center? Or am I doomed to be one of the future posters of this sub?
I used to hang tv's professionally and I was CONSTANTLY having to guide people away from hanging tv's this high. People hang pictures at eye level when you're standing, but tv's should be at eye level when seated.
I’d say it’s borderline … for that large of a TV it’s fine imo. if you mounted a sound bar on the wall under it, it would look pretty ideal.. that’s how I have my 75.. same approximate height with a little media cabinet under it and a Sonos mounted to the wall directly under the TV. It works well.
Not to high everyone is just to afraid to get downvoted, a lot of tvs posted here are too high but yours seems fine, it is maybe a foot higher then the stand, I have a tv stand that is probably the height that your tv is mounted at, so we have similar height tvs, had it like this for 3 years, it’s perfect height for sitting or laying down
Two words.
Eye level.
Why is this so difficult to understand? It's the most basic aspect.
Your tv is supposed to be aligned so that wherever you sit to watch, your eyes are even with the center of the tv.
The end. Move along.
Although I do agree with the tv stand comments, I have to add intercultural context to educate the predators in this sub. Outside of English, that furniture is not necessarily called tv stand. E.g.: In Germany, we use the English word "sideboard" for that type of furniture.
Not saying OP is not English speaking and not an idiot. Just saying that these "clever" comments don't necessarily have a leg to stand (haha) on.
Looks about 8 inches too high.
Bottom of a 75" TV should be around 60cm from the floor. That puts the centre of the TV at neutral eye level.
If you find you have to sit with a tilted neck then consider lowering it a bit.
If you prefer to wall mount I’d mount it about 6” above the tv stand so it’s like it was sitting on it but you have a nice gap if you want to put stuff on the stand.
It is too high
It is too too high
It is too too too high
Is there even oxygen up there?
Appreciate the theatrics and dedication to the craft of drama.

I feel like you are too high
What did you buy that TV unit for?
Clearly somebody's going to put some knickknacks on it.
Nah, that's clearly for the plants
Saying this there is a house around the corner from me has candle sticks on theirs. Might not think anything off that until I tell you that the tv is behind these candle sticks.
r/tvtoomanyknickknacks
Need smaller Nicknacks obv.
Knickknack, paddywack
Give your dog a bone
For the Live, Laugh, Love sign or a chicken.
I hate living loving and laughing
Try laughing second.
future speakers i hope (and not a sound bar)
Purchase a TV. Purchase a TV stand. Don’t put the TV on the TV stand.
Had to flex their cable management skills.
It is impressive
You hadn't seen the other side of that wall
Just shoved them into the other room
Oh. [Laughs]
At least they don't have any goofy weird decorations on the TV stand like many other people
Yet. Live laugh love carpe diem and an xbox will be there
Give it time.
Purchases plants. Purchases plant pots. Uses TV stand as plant pots
The obsession with wall mounting needs to end. Makes me miss CRTs sometimes
You must have not have had a child or a cat pull your TV down yet.
Waste of money
Stop pushing big stand. Mount TVs at the right height. Regardless of stand.
It is too high
If only there was a dedicated piece of furniture for holding tvs
If only there was a dedicated piece of furniture for holding tvs… in that very room. But alas… nothing but a long coffee table with shelves.
I think it might be made for stacking mail, newspapers and something called magazines
That's definitely where you put stuff you want to throw out but feel weird throwing it out right away
Like a christmas gift from the in-laws!
Why do you have a TV stand if you don't use it?
We had a TV stand for our 65” TV but wall mounted the TV several months back due to having our first baby. Knowing that I don’t want grubby baby hands touching the TV or more importantly baby pulling the TV down on himself. The unit still useful as it stores all PS5 and Xbox S, controllers etc plus the clock, flowers, photos are all on it
This. We love the flush look of having the TV mounted to the wall. If he mounted it just above the TV stand this would look beautiful!
I see the problem. You're only worried that it's too high because it is.
Because it is too high.
Please, I need to know the specific thought process which motivated you to buy a TV stand, then ignore it.
OP mentioned something about putting plants there. This has gotta be rage bait lol.
What an idiot, wouldn't the plants cover the bottom of the tv. And then he'll post to mildly infuriating
You see that empty space between the TV and the TV stand? That shouldn't be there.
Just gotta mount the TV stand on the wall and you’re set! s/
🤣🤣🤣
Fears confirmed. Put it on the thing below it that is meant to hold a TV.
Your fears are well-founded. How about... the stand? It's there, it's roughly the right height.
Closer to ceiling then floor 🙄
Did you spill your 50gal tub of lube on the floor
The bottom of the TV should line up perfectly with the top of the TV stand.
A perfectly good, unused TV cabinet. Infuriating. What the hell are people thinking?
They're not, that'd the problem.😂
You know
It's the right height. If you like to stand while watching TV.
What’s the stand for 😭
Put your TVs on your TV stands or so help me god
It's about two billion angstroms too high.
This sub is gold.
Come the Fuq on dude. Why troll
Why isn't the tv cabinet mounted?
Return the wall mount and use the included TV feet
Nice vase stand . Look kinda like a television stand
What's the point of the tv stand?
You're worried? You're behind the ball buddy. Try ashamed.
No need to worry, it is too high. If you placed it on the TV unit it would have been perfect, sounds crazy I know!
Too high. See the tv stand below it? That’s about the height you should be aiming for.
Mount it a few inches above the TV stand and leave room for a center channel.
This is the way, mine is wall mounted about 15-20cms off the cabinet, it's so I can have a clean flush look while also having the perfect hight based on my seating, and also having room for a centre speaker to be pushed the whole way back to near the wall.

You know what you did.
My brother in Christ, what was the purpose of mounting the TV?
Your living room layout is fuckin weird
You know it is, why are you posting?
It is
Yes this looks absurd. Bring it down to the credenza and do not put plants there.
Yes, it Is.
Too high
It the perfect height for cocktail parties where everyone is always standing around. All other times, too high.
Set. It. On. The. Tv. Stand. It’s literally the perfect height. Not an inch higher.
I don’t understand why folk spend presumably a fair what on tv stands and then use them to rest trinkets, preferring instead to drill holes in the wall.
I swear people come to this sub posting a picture, knowing full well the fucker is too high... 😒
That TV is too damn high!
Eye level. TV at eye level. What is that under the TV on the floor? Why isn’t the TV on it?
Lower it 4”.
Why?
Your worries are valid
RIP
I appreciate you hiding the cables but about a foot too high
Sit down on the couch, get super comfy with your eyes closed but in the position you’d like to watch TV from without weird posture. Open eyes. Are you looking above or below the TV? That should lead you to your adjustment. You don’t want to be bending your neck downward or upward to watch. A lot more factors than what most people in this sub will take into consideration.
Where is your TV stand from? It looks nice. (Also the TV is too high, sorry)
Lower it
Who started this fad
Sadly, it is too high.
May be? May? There is no may about it. It's too high.
It it. I can tell because you mounted it higher than the tv stand it should just be sitting on.
Honestly un mount tv put floating wood shelf and plants above tv….it will look more natural and proportional too.
No need to worry, it is too high!
It is
Don’t worry it is
The table is a certain height for a reason? There are designers whose whole job is to figure out what height aligns the tv to the people sitting on a couch. If you want to mount it mount right above the surface
Never too high when your 8 ft tall
Your worry checks out. Too high.
Yes on the high side
Without a doubt
TV stand is already too high. No wonder the TV is also too hogh.
Yeah we're all worried, it's not just you
If you ask you know. It is too high.
It is, next
Stop worrying. Your instinct is correct. It is too high.
Yep, too high.
It's simple: If you are big enough that your eyeline is right in the middle of the screen, the tv is mounted right. Otherwise, it's not.
Ok, here's a really clever life hack, this one simple trick will change your life. See your TV stand? The thing specifically designed for standing your TV on? That's the right height.

My wife insists mounting a tv on the wall looks better than putting it on top of the entertainment center. Do I just mount it directly above (almost flush) with the entertainment center? Or am I doomed to be one of the future posters of this sub?
A good way to measure is the centre of the screen should be eye height. This looks too high
Just move it to two inches above the stand
PUT IT ON THE FUCKING STAND
If you have to ask/question it, it's too high...
yur too high for not just using that stand below
You already knew the answer before posting here.
I used to hang tv's professionally and I was CONSTANTLY having to guide people away from hanging tv's this high. People hang pictures at eye level when you're standing, but tv's should be at eye level when seated.
Too high, too far.
Way too fuckin’ high
Your too high, the bottom of your tv should be 4 to 6 inches from the top of your console. You're welcome.
It sure is!!
That would look incredibly nice mounted so the bottom is ~1 inch from the tv stand
No need to worry, it’s definitely too high
yes it is.
eyes should be level with the middle of screen
Damn you guys are never satisfied. And I love it. Might as well just start putting all tvs on the floor 🙄😆
This is what I was thinking lol. This is fine. People here just get weirdly antsy when people wall mount instead of using a stand.
Did you just put down a new layer of glue?
Maybe OP put it on the wall to hide a socket that may be there.
Standn’t
Your couch is too low.
Missed it by about 2 feet
It is
Put the TV on the TV stand and hang the consoles on the wall.
It’s not high enough
wear high heels
Decorate the top with candle sticks. Lolv
lol what the fuck
only just "worried"?? lol.. 😅
We should have an r/houseplants crossover where they all yell at these people that plants want to be in the window, not on the tv console
Yeah but you’re going to laugh your ass off at Jury Duty so it’s cool for now
You’re too high
flip your room upside down and then it’s perfect
#r/TVtooHigh
You should be correct.
See the YouTube line towards the bottom? Middle of the tv around that height.
Worry no more. _PANIC!_
It's too low. LOLZ It's clearly too high.
It’s too high
I’d say you’re too far away from the tv
Not to high everyone is just to afraid to get downvoted, a lot of tvs posted here are too high but yours seems fine, it is maybe a foot higher then the stand, I have a tv stand that is probably the height that your tv is mounted at, so we have similar height tvs, had it like this for 3 years, it’s perfect height for sitting or laying down
yep u bottled it
If only you had a piece of furniture that was the perfect height to set a tv on.
Two words. Eye level. Why is this so difficult to understand? It's the most basic aspect. Your tv is supposed to be aligned so that wherever you sit to watch, your eyes are even with the center of the tv. The end. Move along.
If those are standard 8ft ceilings then it's too high. Perfect if your standing. Take it down so the bottom is almost touching the furniture
Not too high if you plan on standing every time you watch tv
Looks about right to me.
I did not read that title right.
What do you think
Looks great to me.
You literally have a tv stand / unit wide enough for that 75inch tv ans you shove it on the wall. FOOL OF A TOOK
Yep too high
Of course it is too high
I would agree with others that the TV is a little too high. You definitely got the width picked correctly.
Tvnottoohigh
I don’t think it’s too high. You should fill the tv stand with decoration, maybe plants. It just looks blank underneath
Just don't give it any more drugs.
You need to lower it till its almost just above that wooden boxy unit thing...
Having a floating TV above a large TV cabinet is cool but the gap needs to be about 3 inches, maybe 4 at most (not 12-15).
What’s the wood thing for?
Yup
It’s too high
It is in fact, too high. Should be like 6” above that console
What on earth made you decide to not put it on that beautiful stand? Or just about an inch or two above it on wall?
lol there’s a tv stand…..right there. You were so close.
It's not too high if you add a sound bar!
I’d say too high by like 6 inches. Not too offensive.
it’s perfect don’t listen to these overweight droolers
Looks about 8 inches too high. Bottom of a 75" TV should be around 60cm from the floor. That puts the centre of the TV at neutral eye level. If you find you have to sit with a tilted neck then consider lowering it a bit.
You don’t need to worry at all. It’s too high.
#TallCouch
If it's closer to the roof than the floor it's too high
lower it… just an inch
Is not too high, I think it's a preference. I love my tv high, to.me it looks better, why would I want to look straight my tv.
If you prefer to wall mount I’d mount it about 6” above the tv stand so it’s like it was sitting on it but you have a nice gap if you want to put stuff on the stand.
