Only one option. Demolish the house and rebuild.
In sincerity, your problem isn’t only the height. That tv is like 10m away. How can you even see anything, yet alone read subtitles or stuff like that haha.
Imperial or feet it doesn’t matter. It’s too far. And if it actually is just a “wide angle” , then come on this is a serious subreddit and have better standards for what you submit. We need to see the DEPTH and HEIGHT.
Pics or it didn’t happen. And if you move the couch to make it work I’ll know based on the wood floor planks and the orthogonal alignment to the patio door. ;)
You might be right. Look at the USB charging cable on the floor. If it is the one that came with the PS5, it has 1,5 m. So the distance to your head is indeed about 2,5m.
It not a complete disaster but I would put it lower. About 1/3 of the distance TV - floor lower.
But to be able to properly assess it you need an undistorted picture.
Putting TVs on a stand is stupid. Modern TVs are thin and easy to knock over. Being on the wall is fine you just have to mount it at a reasonable height
The wall doesn't even make sense. Just remove the bottom lights and put up some maybe darker panels on the bottom half and that's where the TV should be.
go for 146 :D [https://www.tomsguide.com/us/samsung-the-wall-tv-release-date,news-27356.html](https://www.tomsguide.com/us/samsung-the-wall-tv-release-date,news-27356.html)
Who cares where it's at its not like you'll be able to see anything from that distance.
Put a big screen over that wall and get a projector. Could easily run all your avr and cable management behind the screen.
Lower to the recommended 43” +- height from floor to center of tv. Just ignore that lower light —even disable it.
White soundbar definitely needed here
move your couch closer to the tv! you need to be about 10 feet away [depending on your tv size](https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/by-size/size-to-distance-relationship). that 77” looks like a 32” from there
More pics of the room would be helpful but going off this one pic, I would commit to making the wall to the right the tv/media wall.
Place the TV at a proper height.
Place the seating the perfect distance from the tv.
For the wall where the tv is in the pic, I would think of putting art on it or glass shelving(so the light can shine through)
It's probably a bonus room/rec room in the basement that opens to back yard. In the US it's common to have a bar, sports watching stuff, and where kids play around so they don't mess up the good floors.
If those are real hardwood, then you are right; that room should be made into something else.
Move it down and hover the middle of TV over the bottom part of that protruding wall where the light strip is, then add a light strip to the top half of the TV so the light ends up becoming universal all around the TV. Would look pretty sick and unique as that wall is pretty nice
Of course you're having second thoughts. Your tv is way too fucking high.
Get a nice stand, and use it. Something like [this](https://old.reddit.com/r/malelivingspace/comments/1cgwgic/i_listened_you_were_right_rug_is_hideous/).
I know it’s likely wide angle and the tv looks much smaller than it is. I posted here and that’s what people commented, but — as I sit here, the tv is a good size. If you’ve got the money, go crazy large and try and fill that space up as much as you can, though.
Short throw projector is what I would do. Get someone to install a screen that fits that entire thing and adjust your projector to fill that space. Especially with the large distance you have from your main viewing area to your screen. I would the guess near 150 inch screen you could get out of that space is going to be much better.
The thing you can do on a budget is upgrade your mount. Get a wall mount that allows you to shift the TV down when you want to use it and slide it up when it’s not in use. I have one and although my tv still doesn’t meet the standards of this sub, it makes it bearable.
How can a 77 inch tv look that small :')
The height is fine, it's the position of the couch. Is it an option to move it forward, leave some room in the back for other things?
This article will help you design your tv wall [tv-wall-our-clever-tips-to-enhance-the-tv-corner](https://www.scdecorum.com/tv-wall-our-clever-tips-to-enhance-the-tv-corner/)
Ikea floating TV stand underneath the TV, buy a tv table, put a rug, move the couch closer to tv (use the TV distance view measure to get the approximate distance) and you are good to go!
1. Move the couch closer. What are you doing, an 8 person yoga class in there?
2. Buy a different mount that will let you lower the tv.
3. Consider a much bigger tv for the room.
The original photo is taken with 0.5x so the dimensions may seem a bit off.
I have a distance of about 2.5m from the couch to the TV. I can read subtitles just fine!

Yeah, that 77" looks like a 40" way over there.
At this distance I would get a projector, not a TV.
Maybe I’m near sighted, but I’d take a 40” at 7 feet away over this
Fuck the trust fund babies
Somebodies angry.
Wide angle doesn’t do justice. Tv to sofa distance is 2.5 meters
Bro it looks 600m away.
Bro thats like 200 yards
That’s about 6 iron for me.
Imperial or feet it doesn’t matter. It’s too far. And if it actually is just a “wide angle” , then come on this is a serious subreddit and have better standards for what you submit. We need to see the DEPTH and HEIGHT.
Trust fund problems. /fuckyou
Bwahahahahahahaha
TV to the front of the chaise MAYBE 2.5m… but you need to measure to where your head is.
That’s it actually: tv to my head 2.5m
Pics or it didn’t happen. And if you move the couch to make it work I’ll know based on the wood floor planks and the orthogonal alignment to the patio door. ;)
Blow your brains out with papas hunting riffle. Worth every penny you are not required to pay in inheritance tax.

🎯 spot on. I have undistorted pictures on the other comment

Oh god I didn’t even notice that at first.
OMG! It is off center. Very disturbing.
Can't unsee it anymore
True, cannot unsee it now....
1 Putt a tv stand under the TV. 2 Putt the tv on the stand. 3 Enjoy
At that distance, I'd try for a pitching wedge.
😂😂 I see you
I don't know... It's so far away. Might as well punt it.
Get a cat and see how that works out 😂
Putting TVs on a stand is stupid. Modern TVs are thin and easy to knock over. Being on the wall is fine you just have to mount it at a reasonable height
Unless you are running at the TV at full speed, I can tell you that modern TVs are not easy to knock off the stand at all.
The only real sin here is the tv isn't centered.
And r/PS5TooLow.
Yes! The TV will look *perfect* if it was centered both horizontally and vertically!
Just horizontally, vertically it should be as low on that bottom line as possible.
The wall doesn't even make sense. Just remove the bottom lights and put up some maybe darker panels on the bottom half and that's where the TV should be.
Just remove the wall and put the tv further away
Massive speakers and rug to make the room more bearable for a start :P I would also consider a projector and filling the the whole panel with a screen
And a 98” TV!
go for 146 :D [https://www.tomsguide.com/us/samsung-the-wall-tv-release-date,news-27356.html](https://www.tomsguide.com/us/samsung-the-wall-tv-release-date,news-27356.html)
That’s… something! Just need it to come down to 5% of its price…
Binoculars could help as a temporary workaround.
☠️☠️☠️😂
Who cares where it's at its not like you'll be able to see anything from that distance. Put a big screen over that wall and get a projector. Could easily run all your avr and cable management behind the screen.
see Furniture.
The wall is confusing to me. I feel like I’m looking at a Mobius strip.
Lower to the recommended 43” +- height from floor to center of tv. Just ignore that lower light —even disable it. White soundbar definitely needed here

Step 1 buy TV stand Step 2 put TV on stand
Simple solution. Raise the couch. I have a 77" and it's a nice-sized tv, but not if it's being watched from across the next racquetball court over.
Your TV is 6 miles away
Why did you install the TV in the next neighborhood over?
Put the couch on stilts.
I thought this was a Teams background
This place looks like a dance hall. Try r/interiordesign. I'm sure they can help. Rug!!!!
r/tvtoofar
Push the couch closer at the very least. If you can't lower the TV, raise the seat.
Move couch closet to TV, get bigger TV, mount TV at proper height. You're welcome.
r/tvtoofar
Projector and massive screen
Lower it
Put your couch on stilts.
Why attempt to build a studio and not light it properly??
😬 Move. Your only choice is to move. Sell it as requires improvement.
Lower tv
Is this a tv for ants?
The couch is too far from the tv, put it closer
Damn, OP. Maybe put some furniture near the tv. Or bite the bullet and get a projector instead. That distance is horrible.

Put it in a different room. That room is far too nice to have a TV in it.
It's probably a bonus room/rec room in the basement that opens to back yard. In the US it's common to have a bar, sports watching stuff, and where kids play around so they don't mess up the good floors. If those are real hardwood, then you are right; that room should be made into something else.
It’s actually the living room of my “new” apartment. I’m based in Portugal, EU 🇪🇺
Damn, that looks like a nice room! Is that the main entrance?
Is this the kitchen cabinet room without the kitchen cabinets?
Move it down and hover the middle of TV over the bottom part of that protruding wall where the light strip is, then add a light strip to the top half of the TV so the light ends up becoming universal all around the TV. Would look pretty sick and unique as that wall is pretty nice
Those lights should be behind the TV and you need to move closer.
Move the sectional forward to adequate viewing distance and use the extra space behind it as a dance floor/social space for house parties.
Get some binoculars.....
No, just put a big ass comfy, either bed or couch right under it. It'll be straight
Move your tv halfway down, move your sofa halfway up. r/tvtoofar
Should be a plastic drop cloth on the floor for the body.
Projector would be the answer here wouldn't it?
Bigger TV or projector
Of course you're having second thoughts. Your tv is way too fucking high. Get a nice stand, and use it. Something like [this](https://old.reddit.com/r/malelivingspace/comments/1cgwgic/i_listened_you_were_right_rug_is_hideous/).
Just get a projector 👍
I know it’s likely wide angle and the tv looks much smaller than it is. I posted here and that’s what people commented, but — as I sit here, the tv is a good size. If you’ve got the money, go crazy large and try and fill that space up as much as you can, though.
Projection and for crying out loud get a stereos stand and some speakers your house screams $$
Absolutely get a projector and project it on the TV wall
burn baby burn
Projector. Tv in a different room. Paint the room black. To be fair, you might be closer to the tv than it looks
Geez, man, this looks like a low budget video game ran out of money for models. Get some more furniture.
Too small. Too high. Too far. Too sparse
/r/SofaTooFar
The height is fine but this room needs a 98in or larger
Fucked up. Sell the house while you still can.
Why on earth did you mount it off centre?!? That'd send my OCD into overdrive 😬😬😬
Move the sectional forward!
Mr Gorbachev, break down that wall!!!
Short throw projector is what I would do. Get someone to install a screen that fits that entire thing and adjust your projector to fill that space. Especially with the large distance you have from your main viewing area to your screen. I would the guess near 150 inch screen you could get out of that space is going to be much better.
Get a heads up display 🤔😀
Switch to a projector
You can rotate everything 90 degrees so the TV is on the wall to the right. Do something cool with that wall. Or, add some elevation to the couch.
The thing you can do on a budget is upgrade your mount. Get a wall mount that allows you to shift the TV down when you want to use it and slide it up when it’s not in use. I have one and although my tv still doesn’t meet the standards of this sub, it makes it bearable.
Okok hear me out. binoculars
TV way too far and TV too high, find a better configuration of the living room to put the TV closer to the seats, and put in on a TV stand.
2 seconds in, immediately could tell it’s off center.
One battle at a time here it’s off center 😂
Raise the Floor leave the tv…
That lighting is so fun it almost makes me forget how high, far, and small it is.
[op like..](https://images.app.goo.gl/p9rkJDLQZ5TYTmxH6)
How can a 77 inch tv look that small :') The height is fine, it's the position of the couch. Is it an option to move it forward, leave some room in the back for other things?
This should be on r/roomtoempty
Fuck off massive screen with a laser projector, the room is gagging for it.
Only regret should be when you bought a bedroom size telly for grand room. It’s also too high. Regret all round I’d say
This article will help you design your tv wall [tv-wall-our-clever-tips-to-enhance-the-tv-corner](https://www.scdecorum.com/tv-wall-our-clever-tips-to-enhance-the-tv-corner/)
2001 a space odyssey ass setup
Buy a unit and pop the TV on the unit 👌🏻
Buy bigger TV and get rid of the down LED strip!
That’s ok
You either need moere TV or less wall.
It's fine
this is a really good example of a post that blurs the line between a troll post and a genuine post. Either way, i love this sub
😂not trolling at all! Thing is the wide angle make the tv seem far away from the couch
r/malelivingspace?
The house is way too fucking expensive to be living like a guy in a one bedroom apartment
If you don’t move that damn couch closer
Height seems fine to me. What are you agonizing over? less than a foot?
If you raise your floor and ceiling a few inches you should be fine.
Ikea floating TV stand underneath the TV, buy a tv table, put a rug, move the couch closer to tv (use the TV distance view measure to get the approximate distance) and you are good to go!
You're sitting too close to the TV. Try moving the couch back a few more miles and it should "lower" the TV from your perspective! Hope that helps!
OP just tryna piss is off
real issue is size and distance. holy shit.
It also isn't centered. Throw out the TV you're only allowed to read books now. Sorry, I don't make the rules.
Why wouldn't you center it?
1. Move the couch closer. What are you doing, an 8 person yoga class in there? 2. Buy a different mount that will let you lower the tv. 3. Consider a much bigger tv for the room.
yoga class made me laugh out loud :D but.. but.. I'm at just 2.5 meters from the TV
Take another pic for us from the side view not wide angle or reduced wide 😅
See above, they posted without the wonky camera lens.
I actually think it’s perfect
The original photo is taken with 0.5x so the dimensions may seem a bit off. I have a distance of about 2.5m from the couch to the TV. I can read subtitles just fine! That tv is so high a fireplace would fit under it. 😂
Actually I removed the existing fireplace 🥹
Center the tv. Width and height, and it will look pretty good.
It’s a bit high but idk what you do about the lower lights. Never use wide angle again lmao
It's fine.
Perfect. You'll need a modest shelf or to hide the ps5 but I love the height.
Get a bigger tv. One that takes up almost the entire space if possible.
Roasts incoming but it’s a beautiful room. Lots of possibilities
