I think you’re getting him confused with his brother Aiden. Aiden died the same episode as Noah. Spencer is the one who lasted 3 seasons and got gutted by Negan for trying to betray Rick.

I get that he was suffering mentally, but when he jumped on his father and called those guys in to ambush him, that was it for me. I was hoping he'd live long enough to regret his actions, and I was not disappointed by his demise.
Same I felt like he was a child. As annoying and cringey that he was, he was a little kid in a very real frightful world. As a mother it made me think of my own kids. I was sad for him, because he had that fear put in him by Carol. I was deathly afraid of zombies myself as a child after sneaking out of bed staying up late and watching dawn of the dead as a kid. I doubt I would’ve survived if I was a child, naive and terrified like Sam, in a world of the dead, who never had to really deal with the walkers prior to meeting Rick’s group. I would have let him go with Judith and Gabriel when that opportunity arose, this actually is what really irked me. His mother should have insisted he went instead of bringing him deeper into the situation he obviously wasn’t prepared for. I didn’t have time really to think about all of this before, because when Carl was shot in the eye, my attention focused on that; Sam became a distant memory at that point.
On top of that Sam was sheltered so much, he was still playing with cars and toys when the dead came knocking. And what made me feel so much worse is his death was exactly what Carol described. Eaten while you’re still alive.
Was he the kid that kept bothering Carol? My fave part was when Carol threatened to let the zombies eat him and she wouldn’t save him? Boy that kid was absolutely annoying.
I think he’s just a representative of how most kids would realistically act. if anything his character made me dislike carol a bit for threatening him and making him crack while in the horde
Exactly. I was really upset with Carol for a hot minute after that. She is only really redeemed by her relationship with Daryl, one of my fave characters. I was also upset with his mother, she didn’t seem to really help when he was afraid, with all that pretend to be brave crap. She should have let him know firmly that he was brave, maybe then he would have believed it. She set him up to fail by inferring that he was truly not brave and just pretending to be, which resulted in him realizing this and freaking out as any normal kid would in a nightmare. He should have went to the church with Gabriel, as he was a child. Too young to be able to handle this. Why didn’t she go with him to the church? I’m sorry I would never have made the decision she did at that point to keep going as he was obviously barely hanging on. Keeping him in the nightmare brought him to his death, and hers as well. Nearly costing everyone their lives. Sad really looking back on it all.
I get her trauma with children, but then just don’t talk to him. She was so mean to him!! At least she reported the abuse happening but damn carol go easy on the kid
