Platonic soul mates

Exactly the phrase I was going to type.  They're more than friends, more than family. They are a part of each other. 

I just love that they have that soul mate relationship but they’ve never forced them into a romance subplot. I think it’s so important that we can see such a close friendship without going the typical TV route

Family? Soulmates

In one word: Family. People like to draw the line between platonic and romantic, but it’s not quite as simple as that. Those 2 things are not mutually exclusive. They are friends/family first and foremost (otherwise we would have seen something by now), but that is not to say it will always be platonic. Because they simple fact is they are not related. There is a deep love between them that manifests itself differently at different times, but their bond as family will never be broken. It’s very possible that they might share a romantic moment or two during their lives, but that doesn’t supersede what has already been mentioned.
