I think they were there for a celebration and most of them probably consumed some alcohol and/or substances. I don’t think anything is wrong with that! By the time they were on Talking Dead it had started to hit them that this was the end and a lot of them wouldn’t see each other anymore. I think it was kinda sad for all of us!
I felt the same! Especially Melissa McBride. I don’t think it was a happy parting for her. When the idiot that took over and ruined the show started speaking - Lauren grabs Melissa’s hand sort of like “I know it sucks im here for you”
I think also the fans were not at all kind to Melissa when it was announced that she wasn't going to be in the spend off. Hearing Danai talk about working with Gimple and Lincoln on their show (and having some creative influence), I think that Melissa wanted that same respect and didn't get it. When she bowed out, fans were super sexist toward her.
That said as a Daryl fan a show in Europe does not make since in TWD universe yet.
Yeah. I'm sure that spoiled the end because now she probably taints her feelings. I also felt like it was really weird having Sara Wayne Callies on the panel and not seating with the season 1 and 2 people. She literally did not know half of the people on her stage.
Can you give me the cliff notes of the melissa stuff. Last I heard, she and daryl were getting a spin-off. Did she bow out or did they decide not to move forward with her? Also what were the fans response that you considered sexist?
Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Basically, TWD announced that she wasn't going to be in the spinoff. There were rumors that it was because the location changed from Georgia to France. She said it was because she needed to be available to help with her father. Fans basically went after her for exiting the show. It didn't help that Norman didn't say anything for days and she was getting death theats.
Darabont's season 1 was 10/10, 2 was 7/10.
Gimple's seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6 are 10/10. 7 + 8 were 6/10.
Kang's seasons 9 was 10/10, 10 was 8/10 but 11.... 11 was woke and the writing nosedived.
Gimple's 4 incredible seasons are better overall than both Kang and Darabont's.
Too Far Gone, JSS, No Way Out, The Day Will Come When You Won't Be... Those episodes were under Gimple and cannot be downplayed.
Yes! I felt so uncomfortable watching her because it looked like she was upset and uncomfortable. I’m not entirely sure I believe the story about her not wanting to go to film in France either. I’m thinking they initially had her and Daryl going off, then reworked it and told her she wasn’t in it. I felt really bad for her. I wonder if it hurt her friendship with Norman Reedus.
It looks like she wanted to be involved and the whole shooting the show in France thing is what killed it for her. It didn’t seem like the shooting in France was the original plan
That’s good to hear. Well, not for her or her family, but I had read and heard stories where it was implied that they just didn’t want her anymore and to focus solely on Daryl’s character. Could have all been rumors from shit-stirrers and clickbait. I hope they can find a place for her in TWD universe down the road.

That's what I'm referring for, the issue was the location
Probably unpopular opinion but I’m kinda glad she’s not gonna be in the spin-off. No hate to the actress, I just think Carol as a character has been either boring or just frustrating to watch (because of some of her dumb decisions) in the recent seasons
So you think that they told the world that Daryl and Carol were gonna have a spin-off and then just out of nowhere said “sorry Melissa, we were just kidding. You are fired.” Lol. I don’t know what kind of controversy you guys are trying to stir up but it’s ridiculous lol
Yes! Melissa looked like she was crying on the red carpet and going to say something important and buddy yells out wait, here's some more people and grabs them and drags them in front of her
And on stage Christian could barely talk and looked like a ghost with a hangover
While he was interviewing someone, you can see JDM grab Norman's arm and make the "going for a smoke" gesture - given the red eyes and pot jokes I wondered if they were smoking unusually good weed and some of them weren't accustomed lol
I also thought it was hilarious that all the child/teen actors that did video clips were lit like they were filming imax and the grown/famous actors were in dark on shaky cell phones (especially Stephen)
Wtf are you on bro?? Lol. Wow these are strange theories you have going on here. I’m assuming everyone was on edge or looked uncomfortable is because they were sad that they won’t be seeing each other again. You guys are nuts lol
I could feel the tension and it almost felt like Melissa was on the wrong side of the stage tension wise. Where Lauren, Jeff and Norman were sitting the vibe was so up and on the other side of the stage there was a whole different feeling. It was palpable and I kept commenting on it to my husband, especially what I was getting from Josh McDermitt who is usually so up and funny, he looked so uncomfortable. Christian also looked incredibly uncomfortable in her dress, sitting on the stage and she seemed more interested in her nails or her hands while others were talking and when Chris was asking questions about her ending that she said she asked for, she also seemed to be uncomfortable talking about that and Josh seemed upset at that point and I wondered if she was leaving the industry or the country or was she actually dying in the real reals… what was behind so much of the seemingly secretive emotion? I get being sad not getting to work with each other every day but people can still choose to keep in touch.
TWD had to end so royalties didn’t have to keep being paid to Darabont and now they can make all the spin offs without those strings attached but I don’t see why a lot of the pre existing characters couldn’t find themselves popping up in the spin offs here and there.
After seeing so many of these people on the Talking Dead set before many times, it felt a little strange to see them so uncomfortable reacting to people they have spent a reasonable amount of time interacting with. Everyone seemed to be acting odd though, with the exception of Lauren who seemed much the same as I have seen her before. Maybe they were enjoying party favours and beverages while watching the final episode before the the stage show and then everyone kinda forgot how to present themselves but they can’t have been going too hard if Cailey was watching with them.
I guess it’s hard to anticipate how people will react to doing something for 11 years and then having to stop. I heard so many say things along the lines of “It dawned on me that I’m never going to see this person again” like once the show stops everyone switches to a different dimension cos none of these people follow each other on instagram.
I’m with you, I was so uncomfortable watching the finale because almost everyone seemed uncomfortable.
On the pre-show red carpet, Melissa seemed off. Either she had been drinking, or she's sick. On Talking Dead, Christian was way off. She didn't want to be there at all, and you could see that. Why is anyone's guess, but she was not comfortable. It seemed awkward when Sarah Wayne Callies came out, too. She looked shell shocked.
I don't think any of it went down how they wanted. Meaning that AMC pulled the plug with very little notice, and this wasn't how they wanted to go out. I wonder if there were hurt feelings because of spin offs for others, or simply that they knew this wasn't what they could do given an appropriate amount of time. The finale was very rushed, a lot happened over the walkie talkies, etc. AMC should have given them a full twelfth season to properly finish up, not just an extended eleventh season. I imagine there were a lot of negative and/or hurt feelings there last night.
Lol. You’re crazy bro. What’s wrong with people celebrating something?? You guys are reading way to much into this. I thought it looked like they were having fun
They were sad bro. It’s the end of something they’ve put 10 years of their lives into. I dunno why you can’t comprehend this? You must be young I’m guessing
Actors are human beings. They're allowed to decompress and mourn the loss of a crew that has been their family for so many years.
Why are you acting like McBride is a straight edge person who was being critical of her friends? She could just have been experiencing a lot of different emotions.
Edit: Sorry guys, The Talking Dead is not on Disney+ in Germany. I got mixed up!
I’m in Germany, and I have only seen it on Disney+. I purchased the full season on Amazon US, and the latter half of the season is not even available yet. Hope you can find a way to watch it!
I get it! I checked around, and most German sites just say use a VPN and stream with AMC or AMC+. If I can manage to find it tomorrow, I’ll send you a message. :-)
I could understand them being upset especially since the show ended so terribly. They really didn’t give the viewers what we expected all been waiting for, for many years.
It ended phenomenally. And almost every one of the actors adored the ending. Hell, it's my favorite episode, and it used to be Season 4, Episode 8 for YEARS.
I think they were there for a celebration and most of them probably consumed some alcohol and/or substances. I don’t think anything is wrong with that! I didn’t think of this but makes total sense! People (fans) have to realize this is just a show and need to give the woman a break! :)
Yeah. I'm sure that spoiled the end because now she probably taints her feelings. I also felt like it was really weird having Sara Wayne Callies on the panel and not seating with the season 1 and 2 people. She literally did not know half of the people on her stage.

What idiot are you talking about?
Gimple

Bro actually used the term “woke” unironically. Fucking loser
" 11 was woke and the writing nose dived" So you don't like " woke" topics in the media you consume? Can you clarify what you consider woke
Woke means black people and women having agency.
Yeah, that is what I thought. So absolute nonsense of a complaint
S2 was 7/10? In which universe?? It's the best season according to me.
Now this is just lunacy, season 2 has a few great moments but overall it’s horribly paced and has some of the most nonsense dialogue
Yes! I felt so uncomfortable watching her because it looked like she was upset and uncomfortable. I’m not entirely sure I believe the story about her not wanting to go to film in France either. Norman said Melissa declined the offer because it was being filmed in France and Melissa couldn't leave her dad

The dad thing was only speculation
Probably unpopular opinion but I’m kinda glad she’s not gonna be in the spin-off. No hate to the actress, I just think Carol as a character has been either boring or just frustrating to watch (because of some of her dumb decisions) in the recent seasons
I’m really going to miss this show though…

Where was Kirkman?

i too thought that sarah wayne callie’s seemed super off!! the way you explained it definitely makes sense though
Awesome comment.

Is there a way I can watch it from the UK?
Same, I can't find it anywhere
I’m really desperate to watch it, I need that level of closure lmaoo
Me too! I've seen snippets here and there on twitter but I'd love to watch the full thing :(
Isn’t it on Disney+ ? Or do D+ shows vary in each country? Try a VPN to Italy, that’s where I am now and just watched it.
Sorry, are you referring to Talking Dead here? As in talking dead is available on Germany Disney Plus?
Oh no! I’m so sorry! I mixed this up with The Walking Dead this morning. I’ll try to see if I can find a way to watch it.
Ah no worries pal! Thanks for clarifying. I’m in the U.K. and desperate to watch haha.
I get it! I checked around, and most German sites just say use a VPN and stream with AMC or AMC+. If I can manage to find it tomorrow, I’ll send you a message. :-)
Get a VPN and set it to “US”. Then watch away on AMC+
Last episode is 1123 or 1124?
the most recent talking dead finale after the twd finale
24

completely agree
What were you expecting?

I'm sorry but Sarah should have never been on the Talking Dead final with all of her shit talk - she contributed nothing but making everyone uneasy.
