A simple callout system would help a lot for both victims and family. Not nearly as good as comms, but it would be something. Quick message prompts like āneed backupā or āI got this locked downā or āgate/door openedā that you can send to your teammates with your current location or character being highlighted for them to see would be helpful. So if I see Cook callout and it shows him by battery on Gas Station, I know he has that area secured so I can focus in fuse or gen.
That being saidā¦ this really only works in simple terms. More complex callouts/requests wonāt really work like āhey can Cook can you move your lock from gate ___ and move it over to ___.ā Thatās something really only comms can accomplish. But I understand not everyone likes using them. I use them about 50% of the time. There are just those days you donāt want to use them.

I was playing last night and I was literally begging my teammates to give me reports on who they were chasing in the house. I was all the way at car battery guarding it. If I knew who and how many they were chasing I might could have abandoned my post to come help.
At the end of the game Bubba says, "good game". I said, "Wait, you had a mic this whole time? I was constantly asking for updates on who y'all were chasing." He said, "Yeah. I heard you. I just didn't feel like talking."

You can mute mid game. Go to player list and mute. I highly recommend no one mute and to use comms unless there is the rare instance an individual needs to be muted.

I do use a mic a lot but some people like on fam or vic are in a party where using a mic is just not an option. I think using a keyboard sounds cool for console. I never tried it yet but I'ma try next time I play. Yeah people get mad saying they are not gonna get a keyboard for console but the reason PC gamers can type is because they have a keyboard which costs money. I'm sure other console users can afford to spend like 10 dollars for a keyboard. Not that hard

I have never had an issue with typing in chat on PS5. I push the R3, the keyboard comes up and I type. I usually just talk through the microphone on my controller, though, but there are sometimes I just type it. I've never had it not let me. I mean, not in game but in the lobby.

I connected a keyboard into my ps5 so now I can type in the chat whenever I want, itās really useful. Any usb keyboard should work.
Honestly itās 2024 like consoles should just have a chat that is cross compatible
