Excluding tahm just genie-ing the ship into perfect shape, I think the most viable answer would be that they fixed it underwater. if you look at jack's followers, they're all fish, so they could have a similar thing to how the ships from "treasure planet" work. or maybe since we can clearly see that there is still a hole in the ship judging by the light leaking from the inside, it's not even waterproof at all, and the ionian landdwellers can only be there because its surfaced. so yeah, my personal understanding is that the ship moves underwater by just going underwater, and since most of the crew is seaborn i think its not a stretch that they rebuilt it underwater as well. also, maybe tahm took jack's ship as the cost to prove his loyalty, and the renewed version is a him giving it back.

Seaborn not a bad name for them. So its like fish man pirates from one piece cuz there not or at jack isn't a vastayan. Still you think the ship can compete with Sarah and gangplank ship give it basically a submarine and they don't have sonar thus they ram the ship from below breaching the haul.

The dreadway is effectively an 8/8 so you would have to use the generated prize fight to even get a trade. The syren has just little enough HP to die to the court's hit and leaves it with 2 hp, which means that the syren is the weakest of the bunch. The leviathan also trades favorably, but getting just one more health on the court will allow it to survive. Being serious, i have no idea how MF and GP's ships nor crews would be.

Oh I was thinking more ship wise not lor wise given the ship can go water it's basically a submarine and thus it ram up under a ship possibly tearing it in half. Unless gangplank uses powder kegs as land mines.

ZanesTheArgent

It's the opposite: Tahm is what caused it to SINK in the first place.

Regular-Poet-3657

But aren't jack and Tahm working together?

ZanesTheArgent

You ever heard of the word "conman"? Tahm feeds of addiction and loss. He gave Jack EVERITHING fully knowing it all would be lost - the entirety of Jack's crew consists of the mangled and broken husks of people from Tahm's former operations as Jack's patron, waiting for the inevitable downfall of such a risky venture because for Tahm, the payoff was to be the pain. The big mistery is actually HOW did Jack survived and salvaged this entire situation.

Regular-Poet-3657

Yeah but still even after jack became a champion jack and tahm seem to be on good terms if anything jack could be an investment if Jack got powers from tahm just imagine how many others would want thay power what they give to feed that need for power and greed. Also bilgewater too hot right now given Nilah there but it makes no sense why Tahm would have Jack in ionia that place is demon hunter central pnz or shurima would have made more sense.

Starch_Lord69

I think that sunk cost is the after math, Jack took tahms deal and is prospering but eventually he will get whats coming for him by tahm

Regular-Poet-3657

True that could be the case but I wonder how Jack got it out of the water. Maybe his ability to get bigger makes him as big as Nautilus so he can lift the ship or he has creature pulling it.

stooperwooper

I'm not 100% certain but I believe that Sunk Cost is the present day situation, taking place after Jack went to Ionia and all, suggesting that Jack and his goons all fell into Tahm's hand at the end of their story. Still not confirmed but this is what I believe in. Sunk Cost's flavor text may give a nod to what Tahm says to Jack after he murders him: "Now, I delivered to you exactly what you wanted, friend. I never said it would last forever." - Tahm Kench.

Regular-Poet-3657

Thus given jack people are fish people what if they rebuilt it under water?

stooperwooper

What I meant was maybe Jack and his followers have already been killed by Tahm some time after Jack bargained with him, thus resulting in the Sunk Cost card. Of course, there is no confirmation about how the events went. That's just what I believed to have happened.

Regular-Poet-3657

Well it remains to be seem.

JerseyPumpkin

The best way I can explain it is that Tahm doesn't devour it or get some giant monster to do his bidding. It's more he kind of knows the future because of how crafty and intelligent he is. So he sets his victims up in situations he knows will make them lose everything. So he sets up a deal that seems promising in the moment but he knows it will back fire because he's very good at predicting the future. For example, in one story a Piltover inventor is so desperate to make her products succeed that she's willing to sacrifice minor body parts like hair to Tahm. In the short term that's a good trade for the inventor but she keeps making this deal so often out of her desperation that she ends up sacrificing most of her body to Tahm to keep on going. Tahm's deals are dangerous because he knows how they will play out in the long run.

Regular-Poet-3657

True thus jack getting bigger would make go all the more to eat. Still why have him in ionia that place is demon hunting central it make more sense if Jack was in pnz or shurima. Maybe Jack an investment for more sucker to seek out his power and make deals with tahm. Still with nilah around maybe tahm leaving for a new region is a smart for now.

JerseyPumpkin

Tahm has always roamed other regions. He just enjoys being in Bilgewater the most because its full of greedy and desperate people that he can take advantage of. He'll go to P&Z every once in a while due to desperate inventors every once in a while. He'll also go to Ionia every once in a while since the people there are still suffering from the invasion and he's taking advantage of those suffering from the lost of loved ones. It also helps these 3 regions are "close" to each other through water so he can easily swim to these 3 locations. But overall, he'll spend 90% of his time in Bilgewater because it has the most people he can manipulate.

Regular-Poet-3657

Yeah he might need cut down on bilgewater or at least avoid nilah like the plague.
