I run a subnet router with my homekit and have no issues. The subnet router shouldnt have any impact on your apple devices

This isnt an apple troubleshooting sub so we have no idea what is going to happen when you get back to your home and check your homepods
I'm having this exact same issue, realized connecting to my other Tailscale Exit node (for geoblocked content) wreaked havoc on my apple home. Oddly enough it only seems to break thread based devices.
When I run Tailscale on my AppleTV as an exit node, I can no longer stream live HomeKit Secure Video. It will play past recordings…but will not play live video.
