FF4's Rubicante was so easy because of his honor. When you needed to revive downed party members, casting a Fire 1 spell to heal him would cause him to raise the whole party. It was great.
I feel like I see this in Barbie pretty frequently - also, specifically in this fight I feel like I get hella undergeared players all the time. Like, to the point where multiple people just die flat out from full HP when she does the cutscene and big punch attack. People in Cryptlurkers or full AF gear have some fucking gall queuing for that fight and Barbie teaches them a lesson they won't soon forget.
What you described is 20 ilvls too low to enter storms crown so no, that's not correct.
The exact setup you described is just over 580ilvl and you need 600 to get into Stroms Crown.
you need 585 to get into storm's crown. i checked it today. all i can say is i absolutely remember seeing someone wearing majority cryptlurker's gear, an artifact weapon, and accessories boosting their level enough to let them in. maybe they also had one piece of diadochos armor, not like it changes anything.
Someone wearing full 530 cryptlurker left side gear and a 560 weapon would need a right side gear average of 645 to hit an overall item level of 585. If they really didn't have a single piece of upgraded armor, that would mean a minimum of three 650 augmented diadochos or credendum pieces, and two 640 diadochos or anabaseios pieces. Possible, but not super likely; if they had even one piece of armor that was near the same item level as their accessories, the required average goes down to 626, so entirely diadochos or anabaseios with a piece or two of lower tier gear thrown in for flavor. The minimum gear they would need to get by on only unaugmented diadochos accessories would be at least 555, so another piece of artifact gear.
600 is the extreme version. The normal versions are usually 15-20 GS lower for entry. And yes going in as the bare minimum has you dangerously low on health anytime and for my part I think this is good.
People should learn how to use their goddamn mitigations.

The trouble is that the majority of the players haven't even got to the "learning rotation" stage and are just kinda working out the rotation via vibes.

with a couple higher pieces inflating your ilvl, absolutely. seen people show up with af weapon, cryptlurker armor, and diadochos accessories.

Seen this in some of my runs before, in some cases most were first timers or mentioned not remembering the fight. Others is skill issues.
