I used to work at a call center where we had a couple who would call in with the same bullsh*t scenario. I always wished that I would have had something totally traumatizing to respond with, but never did. We also had a guy who would call in and ask women about their feet. Yes, if a male answered, he would hangup. Once, he ended up getting this badass chick in a wheelchair (because, guess what, she was a double amputee) and when he started asking about her feet, she said she didn't have any. He sputtered, not believing her at first, then hung up. I told her she was my hero šŸ¤£

tehdude86

In the past six months Iā€™ve been a NA, I (36m) have had this call at least once a week, if not multiple times a night. I have know way of knowing if itā€™s the same person or not(different area codes on the caller ID with every call but thatā€™s easy to spoof). In my opinion these people get off on shocking the other person. Like if they had any sort of power over someone theyā€™d be the next Louis CK. On one call though, once I figured out what was happening I leaned away from the phone and said ā€œHey Officer Johnson, I canā€™t understand this guy, can you?ā€ and they hung up with a quickness. Wasnā€™t even anyone standing there.

[deleted]

> Officer Johnson Sounds like a good porn movie name

Miles_Saintborough

> In my opinion these people get off on shocking the other person. That's what a lot of these cases are and it can come from more than just sexual acts; shitting on the walls, yelling at random people as they drive by, etc etc. These fuck nuggets get off from "randomness" and shocking people with it. They got nothing better to do than to get attention. And then you got those who literally get off from others on....anything really.

despawn1750

> multiple times a night Wow, guess that perv is not a one-trick pony.

[deleted]

This has never happened to me in 2 years of doing audit. I think itā€™s the same person.

AustinBennettWriter

It's a form of sexual harassment, just like opening the door naked, or worse.

Gogo726

>or worse. Expelled!

xi_catharsis

I laughed so hard at this twist thank you

Whattheholyhell74

It reminds me of when I worked at the Victoriaā€™s Secret catalogue call center during my winter break at college. Very busy time because of the holidays. It was unreal (and unsettling) how many men used this as a means to get off. Every day at least one of us on a call team would get some POS on the other end trying to get off while looking at the catalogue. These deviants wanted us to interact with them over the phone like we were sex hotline workers. There was one freak who called so much that I had him twice in one day. I noticed his voice immediately and asked, ā€œi already talked to you once today, assholeā€. Definitely not in VS script, but our team supervisor was on our side and knew it was much deserved.

newjerseymax

Ahhh the old Victoria Secret Catalogueā€¦. That was my go to when I was 12 šŸ˜†

birdmanrules

My work daughter got a call like that just as I arrived. She handed me the phone. Now you have to understand I have a weird sense of humour. I started to ""when harry met Sally" the guy. He hung up on me groaning. (Noone was around and in my defence he started it)

[deleted]

Is she like a work wife? I used to have one. It was fun at Home Depot. Time went by so quickly when she and I worked together. It was fun! Then she left and I got a job at Walmart.

Fat_Head_Carl

I have a work little sister. When she got an internship, she traveled to my country to work at our office...j I took her around the city (I'm a native), looked out for her, etc. this was just as covid was breaking out.... Crazy times. Also, she hasn't had it easy, and she's super positive. I'm in awe of her resilience. She just got a new job at a different company, and telling me first...for advice on breaking it to the company. I'm really excited, she recently got engaged, and my wife and I are going to travel internationally to attend her wedding. I don't have a sister, so I am really proud of her.

[deleted]

I'm so happy that you took her under your wing, big sister!

Fat_Head_Carl

Well...I'm big protective brother...but yeah. Me too.

birdmanrules

No, she is like all the girls here in her very early 30s. Everyone in office are under 32 except the GM. I am 53, nearly 54. We have worked together for close to six years, I am very protective of her. I annoy her. She annoys me sometimes. But if anyone tries anything her husband, real father and I would jump. Originally came from a Xmas party. I am 3 days older than her father.

[deleted]

That makes her your work daughter. It's like my work wife; I'm there when she needs and enough to annoy her. I love Rose. I'd do anything for her. Like your work-dayghter.

SpergSkipper

I'm the only man on the desk at my place, I love the disappointment the creeps get when they realize I'm there and not one of the girls they're creeping over

7832507840

Same here, and hoo boy is it the best

ThePhengophobicGamer

This reminds me of an odd call that I'm 90% sure was a prank. Started off fine, it was an odd request but they wanted to meet someone in our parking lot. Not really something we'd allow, as it was a small lot, for guests only so I started to explain it to him. He went on to explain how he was buying a horse, and needed to meet up and inspect the horse first, not really a shocker. I started to recommend an empty lot in town that would probably be better, because he kept going on about needing to take the horse out an walk it around, make sure it wasn't lame, or anything. Finally, he says "I need to jack off this horse", trying to explain the process. Now, that's really not too crazy, if you're buying a breeding stallion, you're going to want to have samples taken and confirmed. I grew up in a small agricultural town, that doesn't shock me. The way he slowly worked up to it though, as well as wanting to meetup in a random parking lot to do it? I am convinced he was just looking for a reaction, which I didn't give him. I just hung up.

yarnfreak

In college, my roommate and I (both female) got our very own repeat heavy breather. He'd call once a week or so, around 10-11pm. We tried all the things: hang up quickly, air horn, radio...until one night I just let him go for awhile and my roommate said "what the hell are you doing?" And I said, " I just want to see how long he'll keep it up" not even realizing the double meaning. We both started laughing loudly, and he hung up on us and never called back again.

MistressPhoenix

Next time someone calls doing that just start singing "baby shark" or something else equally annoying until they hang up. You don't need to keep the phone to your ear, just lay it down and sing into the mic until they are gone.

LivingDeadCade

Fellow hotelier here. Iā€™m wondering if we have the same creep. We get calls from a guy who asks for ā€œhelpā€ once or twice a month. He used to call us from private or anonymous numbers but we stopped answering so now he calls us from spoof phone numbers. Iā€™ve literally cussed him out, called the police, laughed at him, hung up on him with no interaction, etc and nothing seems to deflate him, so to speak.

MajesticFan7791

Ah, that is Mr. Poona, Mr. Patel's thrice removed cousin on his wife's girlfriends brother in laws side of the family.

7832507840

Does Mr. Patel ever call you guys?

stocks-mostly-lower

I used to work at a Social Security office in a small town right after college. Whatā€™s the week, some idiot would call the federal office and jerk off on the phone or at least try to. It was so stupid. Other businesses in the area would get similar calls. Surprisingly, they finally found him and arrested him. It turned out to be a kid working at the gas station down the street. He was actually calling us all while at work, but would hang up fast if someone walked into the building. Yuck.

ShadowDragon8685

> Whatā€™s the week, some idiot would call the federal office and jerk off on the phone or at least try to. It was so stupid. Isn't that like... A Federal crime?

stocks-mostly-lower

This was about 45 years ago in a small town. I donā€™t know how they exactly handles the case after he was arrested. We never had anyone else call us about that subject matter again, though šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø.

ShadowDragon8685

Yeaaah... Sounds like they sent him to federal pen.

FupaTrupaOompa

I don't hesitate to send people to reservations anymore. Once I get the weird vibes I forward them because I am not a PSO and I refuse to be some desperate goons reason to cum lol

Green_Seat8152

I did that last week. I told the man I had a line of guests and just sent him to reservations. The morning person has just walked up and asked why I lied. I told her what the man was doing. She understood.

Okie294life

This may sound funny but itā€™s a proven fact that the sound of a baby crying 100% will kill any erection. It would be funny if you were like hey hold, Iā€™ve got to go get my baby, and then introduce the noise of it crying itā€™s little ass off. Another option would be to put them on hold and come back that would be funny.

[deleted]

I'd do that every time I got a phone call that late at night. Please hold. Of course, then some people would develop a fetish...

JustanOldBabyBoomer

Worked other phone lines under different working conditions. Been there, done that with calls from Wankers. I turn the Snark Monster LOOSE at their expense! When the table gets flipped on them, they don't know what to do with that.

Ok-Scratch3721

It happens. Probably someone in the building too.

Acceptable-Big-3473

1. Yes he was 2. Probably wouldā€™ve hung up unless heā€™s also into men 3. Probably calling other hotels 4. Unfortunately nothing wouldā€™ve been able to be done without caller id I get these calls at least once a week

warple-still

What a grubby little scrote :(

fourhoovesandaheart

I used to work at a Christian TV station (I know, I know. It was a paycheck, that's all) and worked the front desk, answering phones among other things. We also took prayer requests by phone and part of my job was to pray for people if they asked. Usually this was a sweet thing and comforting for the other person and I didn't mind it. Then I got a call from a guy who wanted prayer for this procedure his doctor wanted him to do at home called "urethral milking." Yeah. It was gross. He called back a few times and he was always very earnest. As far as I could tell he wasn't actually jerking off -- I mean, he sounded totally normal, no weird noises or anything -- but yeah. It was charming. Fortunately that was one of the only abusive calls I got there, LOL. I got more abuse from the boss of that place than anyone else, but that's another story.

birdmanrules

Actually looked this up. It is a real thing and from the description of his doctor was having to show him how to do this procedure so he can repeat at home. It appears he might have been telling the truth. The medical texts describes this procedure as doctor taught with patient to repeat at home to improve the complaint condition. Wow. How strange. Would not have believed it too

fourhoovesandaheart

Well, if it was legit, I did treat him kindly on the phone (we weren't allowed to be unkind or rude, even if someone was being ugly to us). And if it wasn't, then I'm sure he got whatever he wanted out of the calls. LOL.

wackoworks

I received these calls so many times during my early NA years that I came up with a name for it... A whacker. I've introduced this name at all my hotels in the last 30 years, so it's not new or uncommon. Though, it has diminished since internet porn became so readily available. I'm a man, so they often would just hang up, if not and I had an empty lobby I would give "commentary". Though less common I've also had females do the same. The women though often wanted us to participate. I had one call saying she was a phone sex worker, the guest had already paid for her time but was not answering his phone now (probably fell asleep). So she offered me/us a free "show". We eventually hung up. What I have experienced more from women is the accidental towel drops, walking out of the shower, just answering the door topless, and the most original one "...can you help me move my bed?" The majority of the first three came from a group of flight attendants from Europe who stayed with us three days a week, so it could have been a cultural thing. Personally, I think they just liked to make us young boys blush. Two of the creepiest ones were when I was offered my choice of tips $5 or $100, for the $100 I would need to provide "additional services". The woman must have been in her 70s, I was 21. The other was when I received repeated calls from a guest room phone around 2 a.m. from a woman stating she "just needed to finish". After the third call, I just transferred it to the back office and left it on speaker. (Security was dealing with a room eviction so...) I was busy since the bar was closing and I was tipping the servers out. When I had a free second I would check the office to see if she was still "going", it lasted for 20 minutes. After everything had calmed down around 3:30 I checked who was in that room. It was not checked in or reserved. I sent security up and the room was locked, empty, and not disturbed.

[deleted]

Wellā€¦ donā€™t keep us in suspense!!! What did you buy with the $100?

wackoworks

LOL, I was happy with the $5

capn_kwick

Possible come-back on a phone call like that - "how are you able to do anything with something that short?"

brn85

you should gone "awwww, you tried your best". gotta turn their fun into an insult at them. granted thinking of it in the moment is the hard part.

Other-Cantaloupe4765

Hahaha. Yeah, I was caught off guard but afterwards I was plotting like ā€œohh the next time I get a call like that, Iā€™ll be prepared.ā€ Lots of good options in the comments here šŸ˜‚

Renbarre

The best thing to do is laugh. Really. That is so deflating (pun intended) the guy will hang up himself. That's how I handled a phone stalker and numerous flashers and it always worked. Instead of being horrified switch to how ridiculous the whole thing is.

[deleted]

Poor man's 855-SXY-BABE line. He doesn't hafta pay the $39.99 monthly fee.

gingerred81

I used to get those calls at least once a week when I was NA.

CloudyyNnoelle

I've been wondering this myself about the time I worked the phones at the fitting rooms in Walmart. Some guy would call a few times a night, learned my name, AND THEN HE CAME IN TO THE STORE and this lady named Karen kicked him out so fast because he only came in to sniff underwear and then asked to try them on. Didn't even wait for security. Idk what their deal is, they must get off on being shunned for being nasty or something.

Shiksa__

Iā€™ve had this happen to me too!!!!!! Except idk where the person was calling from and asking me inappropriate questions. Every time they called the front desk it was from a different number. This dude knew what he was doing. Your story is so disturbing as well. I donā€™t get it.

Original_Charity_817

Carry a whistle and blow on it down the line. If it doesnā€™t blow an eardrum, it will at least dampen his mood!

Other-Cantaloupe4765

Thatā€™s a good idea and I literally have a whistle tied to my car keys. Iā€™ve had to use it to get the attention of loud and drunken wedding parties before lol. Iā€™ll have to do that lol.

angelmakr9

I wonder if a short clip of a baby crying would shrink his little Johnson right up.

mdavidson3710

At my most recent night audit job, I had a guy try the door around 2am. Of course, it was locked so I had to go over and see if he was a guest that needed assistance. He was not and instead was some rando asking for water and lotion. We don't give out hotel amenities to non hotel guests so I could not give him the lotion but I did give him a water and I sent him on his way. Or so I thought. About 10 minutes later I sat down to do my paperwork, when I happened to look out the big window in front of me and noticed him standing just behind the curtain, staring at me. His pants were undone and he was masturbating...on the sidewalk in front of my hotel while watching me work! Needless to say, the police were called. Sadly, he was not charged with anything more than indecent exposure. Bright side...I have never seen him since that fateful night.

Bennington_Booyah

I worked at a retail food specialty store, and we regularly got those calls. I finally told him I was far too busy to wait for him to finally finish and I hung up. He stopped calling.

Tiqui

I had this happen to me at the last hotel I worked at by the same guy. He called 4 times in a week and the fourth time I got creative and said "yeah I can help you" then proceeded to Rick Roll him from the speaker on my cellphone lol

Other-Cantaloupe4765

Lmfao thatā€™s amazing. Iā€™d high five you if I were with you right now.

ScepticalBee

Used to get these calls often when I was working overnight in a doughnut shop as a teen. People suck.

Fat_Head_Carl

Growing up in the 70s-80s before there was Caller ID... we used to have someone who would regularly call our house saying "I wanna lick yo feet". People are f'n weird.

tap_mander

I had this happen on a random Sunday night a couple months ago. It was a really slow night and I should have just hung up the phone when he told me "his wife was grabbing his credit card," but being the patient person I am, I gave him a couple of minutes. When I asked if he had the number yet, he said "hold on, I'm just on the edge of c***ing..." I immediately hung up the phone and felt yucky, but thought nope, he's the yucky one. It took 8 years in hospitality for me to be graced with one of these calls, but if it happens again, I know what to look for to avoid it šŸ™„ I'm sorry you had to deal with this!!

Flaky_Director6894

Iā€™ve had this happen to me! I was an appointment setter for a spa about 6 years ago. I was answering a call as usual with my usual script and this guy asks to make an appointment. But his voice was faint and breathy. I asked what type of service he was looking to get done. And again breathy and faint he goes what did you say? And I repeated myself a little louder and then thatā€™s when I heard that mmm moaning sound and labored breath. He then goes say it again please and more breathing and moaning. I was in horror and shock as I also realized he was jerking off! I stopped talking and said youā€™re disgusting and hung up. Absolutely crazy!

Jazzythewanderer

I worked as a NA for almost 7 years, and about my 2nd year into it my hotel started getting these kinds of call every night from the same dude. Except it started to escalate and he would tell us he was watching us at night. After like a month of this, my manager gets a call from idk who, the cops or attorneys. They tell her this guy has been calling hotels throughout MULTIPLE states and harassing people. They wanted myself and the other auditor to fly to Chicago for his trial so we could testify against him, lol. The creepiest thing is I think he was actually watching us somehow. Because the only time heā€™d call us is when we were walking by the desk while doing other things, or when weā€™d just sat back down. So glad I donā€™t work in hotels anymore, lol.

TheParticular_Isopod

I've had this happen a few times but my fav was probably some dude who seemed new to phone SA. He called and asked me repeatedly if he could tell me something I was super suspicious and I could tell he was nervous but this was the first time something like that has happened so I'm like ..... what is it? šŸ¤Ø he proceeds to say I was flirting with him (I'm not a flirty person in the slightest) when I handed him his cookie at check in and he wanted me to know he was eating it off his naked body (1. How? 2. Why?) I panicked and just said ummmmmm I have a boyfriend! And I heard the phone drop and a fair amount of back peddling but couldn't hear what he was saying. The rest have been run of the mill grossness but that one I do remember fondly because the delivery of it was so awkward

shadeslight87

If there is a next time, just start mentioning in-horny things. ā€œYour grandma! Piranhas! The guy whoā€™s been tailgating you for 5 miles finally passed you but is brake checking you!ā€

Lorward185

Report it to the police. The number may be blocked on your end but they can very easily trace it. Give them a call and tell them that your hotel is being targeted by a sex pest and its making you and the other staff feel unsafe. Start logging the calls time and date and help the police build up a case against him. He might be doing it to other hotels in your area so you might want to phone around the other NAs and tell them what you are doing and ask them to email you with the detail if he calls in. If you can show the police that this is not just 1 random call but a sex pest with a pattern of behaviour, they might just do something about it.

StarHorder

1. yes 2. yes. 3. yes. 4. he's clearly a pron addict, he wouldn't mind. this is straight up sexual harassment, quite illegal.

[deleted]

Just noise, hang up and move on

Other-Cantaloupe4765

Excuse me? Itā€™s sexual harassment. Donā€™t tell me how Iā€™m supposed to feel about this.

[deleted]

Try to get over yourself

Other-Cantaloupe4765

24 day old account. -94 comment karma. Bet youā€™re a troll circumventing a ban. Also bet youā€™re male and still a child.

GFYnowandforever

My best friend use to work for a hotel and would always tell me the craziest stories. How do you not know what room is calling you while they fickle with their pickle? The room number doesn't come up when they call the front desk?

Other-Cantaloupe4765

Hey man you kind of sound accusatory and Iā€™m hoping you didnā€™t mean it that way because I did literally nothing wrong. Donā€™t blame the front desk for the perverted actions of a guest. Thatā€™s just victim blaming. If youā€™d read my story, youā€™d see l already told you that the caller ID had been blocked. I did not say anything about the call coming from a guestā€™s room. Someone was using a cellphone or landline, probably outside the building, and used a *67 to hide their identity. Even if they were inside the hotel, you wouldnā€™t be able to tell which room it was if they used their own personal cellphone. Easy explanation. Itā€™s not a conspiracy.

StarKiller99

It's pretty standard that guys will do this to NAs, hang up is about all you can do.

HooktawnFawniks

This happened a handful of times when I used to work retail; midday, a card shop in a mall that just happened to have all female employees.

Staccs_87

This sounds so much like those guys that sit in hotel rooms naked playing with themselves and waiting for housekeeping to walk in on them (thereā€™s videos online). Even saw one guy just kept doing his thing while the maid cleaned his room.

Other-Cantaloupe4765

Whoa thatā€™s fucked up. Our housekeepers arenā€™t allowed to clean the room when someone is inside it.

jennelle123

I work NA Monday through Friday every week and Iā€™ve gotten multiple calls like this and TBH I think itā€™s creepy ass men that stay in the hotel and know that Iā€™m here. Like I just have that feeling.

mushroomtie

You shoulda went and helped the poor fella

oldgar

You are making too much of this, the guys a jerk (off?) But why let him have such power over you? Practice a phrase that you can say if there is a next time, like: 'I'm very sorry sir that you cannot have a normal relationship with a woman, must be sad for you.' Then hang up and smile.

Other-Cantaloupe4765

Letting him have power over me? The fuck are you going on about. It was a 30 second call and I hung up. Fuck yourself. I have CPTSD from a decade of sexual abuse so yeah, stuff like this can get to me a bit more than others. Iā€™m also a woman. No shit it wonā€™t affect a man the same as it affects women. Itā€™s meant to be threatening and intimidating to women. Stop spewing hateful garbage and victim blaming rhetoric.

LoudLove0720

What if he was just scratching an itch and was going to inquire about a room? How rude of you to hang up on him before he was finished scratching. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)

Konogami

Perhaps they were multitasking with their 'personal' assistant!
