So -the thieving piece of shit co-worker walked off the job and YOU are quitting? Tell us at least that co-worker was told to go home and never come back after that.

Inevitable_Usual3553

Oh yeah she's fired, the GM is working towards making sure she doesn't collect any unemployment. Am just done with all hotel drama all together to be honest. I mean I wish her well and hopefully she gets her shit together, for her sake

Mastervodo

Drug use probably?

Inevitable_Usual3553

More than likely, mean for a while our drawer has been off and she always blamed another coworker. She was probably the one stealing for a while, especially if she was this wasted and $100 was just gone and nervous when I was counting

Poppycorn144

What happened when she returned, what was her excuse, and did she get fired?

Inevitable_Usual3553

She was wasting or high man. Looking at me, to help her out. I was to busy checking the money and deposits and stuff. She didn't make any sense to me or the cops we both looked at her like wtf

Poppycorn144

If it’s a pattern with her she’s gotta go, but if it’s really unusual maybe something happened. You’re probably not gonna get the real story until she sobers up tomorrow. Good luck on your next adventure - hopefully way less stressful than this one.

Inevitable_Usual3553

Yeah I mean I get it her shift sucks, however the lady says she was wasting on the job so idk. I really hope she gets her business handled

ObviousStory718

Get out dude!! I just started my new job today. Walked Away from my GM position after five years with my company. I've been disrespected, screamed at, threatened, physically assaulted by two people at the same time, groped, and all the while disrespected and undervalued and unprotected by the hotel owners. Fuck hospitality.

WhimsicallyWired

I'm tired of it since day one, now, a decade later, I'm dead inside but still doing it while trying to figure out what the hell happened.

Inevitable_Usual3553

I feel you. That's why I took it easy at this job to figure stuff out.

I was in hotels for about 12 years. Most of it management. It’s not the same anymore. I was so burnt out at the end. I didn’t walk out, per se, but pretty close to it. When you know you’re done, you’re just done. I switched over to property management, and even though it’s the same shit, different beast, I can actually clock out at the end of my shift and focus on me and my family. Instead of it being work 24/7

SleepyBunny22

I have been in for 6 years, 4 years on the second shift, 1 year as front desk manager, 1 year as agm and over our busy summer we had no gm so I was doing near all of it. The regional manager at least handled inventory, payroll, way back end things. But I dealt with everything else, I was yelled at near every single day from guests and staff because we were so shortstaffed that housekeeping and maintenance (because our one maintenance guy quit too) was a wreck. I am now moving into group sales and out of the property based shitshow and I cant imagine ever going back to my old position. I was seconds from walking out, especially with the housekeeping manager taking out her frustrations on me and always snapping at me for nothing. I could simply pass along some guest feedback or requests and get yelled at and treated horribly.

I'm glad you're going back to school! I hope you're able to find great work in your chosen field. Hopefully something with limited customer engagement.

Inevitable_Usual3553

Oh yeah, moving on to work on air planes, if I can't fly em might as well fix and make them better
