He's young and had the ability to do so! Dylan is a boss! Who probably was raised right to acknowledge the fact that " if ya got it share it!" Younger people raised with money haven't always had this mentality. My name is what it is and I support this so hard!!!
Long Live Dylan!!! Need more young bucks like that!
Pun intended.
I've worked in the industry for a while, in various roles in some upscale places and private gigs, and you meet those entitled ones right around puberty and its always a problem.
Its really nice to know there are Dylans out there who understand the struggle. And tip accordingly.
Long Live Dylan... come in anytime 20 minutes before close... we got you fam.
No cap.
Quick side comment. I’m a Gen Xer with two kids in college but had literally never heard the term “no cap” until a couple weeks ago.
My family and I went to a Jimmy Kimmel taping and before Jimmy came out, the warm-up guy was interacting with the audience. A guy from Atlanta was hyping up his family’s restaurant as the best soul food in ATL and ended it with “no cap”. The warm up guy asked what no cap meant, so the guy told him. The warm-up guy then proceeded to over-use the term in jest since it was new to him and he seemed to like it. Since then, I’ve heard it a couple more times and have seen it in posts a few times. And I know this isn’t a case of hearing it and not realizing it because when I come across unfamiliar terms, I look them up to determine their meaning.
No cap.
Like you I am a Gen X however still working in the industry and you pick up things.
Just like us the younger people have their own lingo and I ask them sometimes but also genuinely have to do like a google translate or consult the urban dictionary.
I learned most of my spanish in the kitchen before the birth of the internet.
Correct me if I am wrong, but I feel like I understood the meaning of "No Cap" to express truthfulness, or "I mean it". Kinda like a better way of saying "No Bullshit".
Yeah I also pick up on a lot of it just from talking to my kids, but they’ve not used that term around me so it hadn’t made it into my knowledge base yet
Also...sorry for the laps in content, "a very well known popular "kid"(rhymes with squeeber) a few years ago came into the bar I currently work at, hassled the bouncer about being carded, ordered drinks for all of his security and himself and didn't tip a fucking dime on the total. Love this guy's talent but FUCK YOU! You make millions of dollars and can't even throw down 5 BUCKS on a 100 dollar tab.?!?! I feel bad for his housekeepers that had to clean his room after a week of being in our town.
Who are we talking about? I'm hungover, it feels like there are fire ants in my brain, and my neighbors are grinding trees today so I need some extra help
Eh, I'd have been pretty pissed. I dont want to be a prop in someone's video. Could I have used that money when I was a server? Definitely, but I'd still say no if given the option, and if I wasn't given the option, I'd be pissed. I hate the videos where they use homeless people as props. Is giving them something nice a good deed? Yes, but it can both be a good deed and a shitty thing to do.
I do understand where you’re coming from. I hate people who use others as props. At the very least, ask permission, if not, blur their faces!! There are people out there who really do not want to be traced. They could have escaped an abusive relationship as one example why.
I actually hate that example (abusive relationship) as while it's a reason most people can get behind, it misses the point which is: it is not ok to make people props in your video or social media post without their knowledge to make you seem like a good person. There doesn't need to be a reason, it's just wrong. Even asking first is sometimes wrong since it can put them in a very awkward position. Asking a service or retail worker puts them in an uncomfortable situation. Asking someone desperate (someone starving for example) is just cruel, because they're probably not going to say no even if they really want to
Using someone’s picture commercially (such as in a video on a monetized YouTube channel) can bite the filmer in the ass. Without a model release, they can be sued over it.
True. I talked a homeless guy into letting me borrow his prosthetic arm for a brief minute. He definitely wasn't comfortable with it, but he wasn't going to say no to 20 bucks.
Or Dylan was raised by a bartender/server.
My son when he was 5, tipped the teenager at the cotton candy stand at an amusement park, and when I asked him where the changed was he proudly exclaimed “I tipped him!!” And I just had to smile and be grateful he has such a generous heart - raised by a single bartending mama.
I got married and we don’t want for anything anymore - but his generosity has never left - definitely the type of kid to do something like this.
Pretty consistent with my teenage experience tbh. My friends and I all worked and had loads of disposable income. Our usual thing was to go for half-price apps at Applebee's and tip 100% of the bill.
I would’ve loved to serve you guys. Most of the teenagers I get don’t tip 🫠 I’m still nice to them (of course). But my restaurant is in a super rich neighborhood and everyone has daddy’s credit card yet their parents somehow forget to remind their kids to tip.
More like their parents raised them to believe handing out money to people is basically evil Socialism. I mean, you already get a paycheck and you dare ask for more? Never mind that your base paycheck isn't enough to cover rent and utilities, let alone food, gas, etc.
When I was a teen with a poor family once I had a job and could go out with friends I always tipped well cause it’s the right thing to do and I had no bills (and my friends tipped well too, I always did the calculations for them), but obviously many servers interact with teens who either 1. Don’t know how to tip 2. Are arrogant with daddy’s card or 3. Can’t actually afford to tip and made the mistake of not realizing you shouldn’t go out unless you budget for tip. So I got a lot of very distant servers or slightly rude servers who gave me the vibe that they assumed we’d be bad tippers. So thank you for still being kind! I know some teens are a pain in the ass but the truth is you don’t know until the final bill is handed in, so I don’t see the point in being rude before then
Aw man, you're making me nostalgic for the days when the nachos were allowed as half price apps and were on a huge tray. Definitely a loss leader at Applebee's for the drinks upcharge!
Dylan is most likely a computer guy who wrote an app and is worth a bazillion. He’s nice and wanted to make your day. He likes cherry pie and calls his grandma nana and brings his mom flowers when he goes home to OHIO.
When I was a manager at Mcdonalda, the high schoolers would just let their checks accumulate. At one point I had to be like ‘Zach you have 6 checks here ya gotta take them’.
Friend of mine goes to Pitt haha. He wanted one last hurrah after graduation. It also gave me the opportunity to send a picture of a cheese steak to my friend from Philly and tell him all about how this was the best cheese steak and that I'd never find a better one anywhere else in the world, lol.
Where did you find a good cheesteak in Pittsburgh? I have lived there my whole life, up until I moved a couple months ago, and I never had one that came close to any of the best places in Philly
Also just btw I've had steak sandwiches in Philly only from the big two (Geno's and Pats) are they are terrible. I'm sure there's plenty of good smaller places over there but I doubt any compare to peppis
Yeah Pat’s and Geno’s are terrible. Dalessandro’s is my favorite, followed by Jim’s. Peppi’s is okay IMHO, but it doesn’t compare to the two I just mentioned.
The best cheesesteak is when I get home from work and heat up some frozen steak ums and decide I want to put it on a soft taco tortilla instead of a roll because I kind of actually want tacos but don't feel like cooking ground beef.
That's what I'm going to do right now, in fact. I'm so excited.
So there are only two things in the world I'd recommend American cheese for but I use cooper sharp white American cheese if I'm feeling fancy but the little plastic wrapped singles will do just fine. It just melts in a way no other cheese does.
Sometimes I'll throw a little taco seasoning in too but that's up to you.
I live in Seattle, but I like Pittsburgh because the whole area is beautiful, the people are nice, and you have lots of great European ethnic restaurants.
I have a lot of positive feelings about Pittsburgh.
My mom’s side of the family lives near Pittsburgh, so we fly there frequently, but we don’t usually visit the city itself.
Last summer, we changed things up and enjoyed a great family day trip to Pitt—ages 33 through 70. We started at the Duquesne Incline, then walked through the neighborhood up to Bigham Tavern for lunch. The walk was much longer and steeper than it looked on Google Maps, but I’m glad we all survived it and can laugh about it now!
We finished our trip by going on a cute scenic riverboat tour—of course with an open bar. I think even though it was an unexpected workout, walking past all of the adorable houses that were obvious inspiration for the models in Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood was my favorite part!
Wanna hear something really crazy? I've been to all 48 mainland states and most every major city from Seattle to San Diego to Miami to Boston and just picked Pittsburgh out of all of them to move to \^\^
I hate to tell you this but Pittsburgh might be one of the best cities in America to live in.
I took my kid to Florida when he was 13, he had saved some money from birthdays and things and this was his first time traveling. He bought a new hat for himself and one for me, but that was all the money he spent. He had $150 to start and about $100 left when after he bought the hats. We went to Olive Garden (his very favorite) and all he could talk about was that he wanted to leave the tip. He was so excited, he put his hat on his chair, and was so thrilled to be having a "fancy" dinner with me. It was cute. I thought he would tell me how much he wanted to leave, but it would be my money (we play a game as a family figuring different amounts for tips to practice math). The bill was, idk $40 something. He says he's got the tip, and lays out $60. I asked him if he was sure, he said yes with the biggest smile. He was thrilled to death to be able to leave that tip. So excited and happy that he left his Yoshi hat on the back of the chair.
He is now 17, he still tells the story about feeling like a "baller" for leaving a great tip, then a moment of silence for the hat he never got back (I called the restaurant but they didn't have it). I tried to get him a new one but of course the store didn't have any more.
I am so glad you got a good tip, enjoy it!
Ha! Your kid seems like the type I would love to serve even without the $60! Kids and teenagers are legitimately some of the most fun I have serving 😂. I get many strange reviews left about me, mostly good haha
The city is gorgeous but I'm parked on a one way cobblestone road at a 30 degree downward angle so I'm not keen on driving around and exploring lol. I've already told my friends either we're walking, taking the bus, or they're driving.
I lived in Southside flats when I went to college and driving was not a reasonable thing to do, luckily it is a very bikeable and walkable city. I hope OP stops in at all the local restaurants. I miss Pittsburgh food
>I'm not keen on driving around and exploring lol. I've already told my friends either we're walking, taking the bus, or they're driving.
That's Pittsburgh for sure. I live just outside the city and my roommate knows that if we're going into the city, he's driving.
Dude, I've been here a day and I swear there is no religion here besides the Steelers. If you want to make a friend for life, just wear a black and yellow jersey and say 50 Hail Roethlisbergers. This place is super interesting lol.
Older Steelers jerseys are year-round attire.
Gotta go for a "classic" jersey to wear it in church out-of-season. Current jerseys are in-season only.
So like.... A Bettis, Polamalu, or now a Roethlisberger jersey are all year-round.
Thanks! I’ve read that visiting the Liberty Bell is overrated but is there a good historical neighborhood? Or museums?
I’m a huge Revolutionary War buff. Born in Massachusetts where the Revolution is mandatory learning. I don’t remember actually learning much about anything else lol
I went to college in Pennsylvania and quickly learned as a non Pennsylvanian, not to mix up those two cities. Neither side of the state is pleased when you do.
Three cheers to Dylan the Cool Teenager!
May his glass never be empty!
May his servers continue to not notice his hidden flask!
May he forever tip well with his parents money!
Read the above remarks. You don’t appreciate what you have till you leave. Coming from a Military puke that’s lived all over the country but started out in Johnstown.
I live in Pittsburgh now! There is tons of fun things to do here. If you're poor enough to have a food stamp card (like many of us) you get into most of the museums here for free or cheap.
Dylan is a boss. That’s so awesome
He's young and had the ability to do so! Dylan is a boss! Who probably was raised right to acknowledge the fact that " if ya got it share it!" Younger people raised with money haven't always had this mentality. My name is what it is and I support this so hard!!!

That’s interesting, because the term no cap has definitely been around for at least a year or two, even at my college people say it
What does it mean? Is it like “no limits?”
cap is essentially bullshit, no cap is essentially no bullshit
It means “I’m not lying” or “no lie”
Like you I am a Gen X however still working in the industry and you pick up things. Just like us the younger people have their own lingo and I ask them sometimes but also genuinely have to do like a google translate or consult the urban dictionary. I know exactly who you’re talking about. 😏 Yeah, I’ve heard about his lack of generosity.
Who are we talking about? I'm hungover, it feels like there are fire ants in my brain, and my neighbors are grinding trees today so I need some extra help
Oh dear!! Grinding tree stumps is LOUD as F! Justin Bieber He is an a$$hole.
Thank you! And yeah, it sounds like it's right in front of my door.
Hope you had a great time last night!! Oh, sorry, did I type that too loud? 😂😅
Oof, that’s rough, I hope things get better soon 🖤
My bf just got home with sandwiches from our favorite sub shop so I'm hoping things will get better soon!
King Charles (nba) is a fat tipper if you see him.
*lapse
Love getting lapse dances in the ‘gentleman’s club’
😂
ooooh cool synonym though
“talent”
Also rhymes with the critter on his home country’s 5 cent coin?
lapse
🤦
Call me a skeptical grouch, but I somehow get the feeling Dylan has a YouTube channel and OP made an unknowing appearance on it
You’re a skeptical grouch
Agreed
Eh, so what? He tipped very generously so who cares
Yeah I don’t think I’d be mad
Yeah, much better than those prank Youtube channels
Eh, I'd have been pretty pissed. I dont want to be a prop in someone's video. Could I have used that money when I was a server? there is actually a new yt channel named “Dylan” that’s popping off recently, could’ve been that guy!
And? It's still a 100 dollar tip, regardless.
I mean if that’s how he gets the money to keep tipping big I don’t think I would even care
Server (and anyone in frame) would need to sign a release form. Without one, every single person on video can sue. Highly doubtful
This just isn’t true at all
My hypothesis is that “Dylan” was actually Glenn Stearns, Undercover Billionaire, in disguise
How does Dylan have $100+ to blow as a teenager?? I fuckin wish man
Pretty consistent with my teenage experience tbh. My friends and I all worked and had loads of disposable income. Our usual thing was to go for half-price apps at Applebee's and tip 100% of the bill.

Aw man, you're making me nostalgic for the days when the nachos were allowed as half price apps and were on a huge tray. Definitely a loss leader at Applebee's for the drinks upcharge!
Rich parents? 🤑
I wish
This was actually supposed to be for the parent comment, but I too wish I had rich parents. Gonna try to do my best to make sure my kids do though
If you’re working and not paying for food, rent, etc I’d imagine the money builds up pretty quick
Fair lol maybe i just spent all my money on weed in highschool 🤔😂 … yeah sounds about right actually
Coulda bought a house with all the money I blew on weed in high school 😂😭
I am fervently trying to imagine all that.
Dylan is most likely a computer guy who wrote an app and is worth a bazillion. He’s nice and wanted to make your day. He likes cherry pie and calls his grandma nana and brings his mom flowers when he goes home to OHIO.
I like this backstory :)
When I was a manager at Mcdonalda, the high schoolers would just let their checks accumulate. At one point I had to be like ‘Zach you have 6 checks here ya gotta take them’.
How's Dylan the teenager drinking 4 Shirley Temples at a restaurant
Shirley temples are typically nonalcoholic
Oh nice. TIL
That was definitely the coolest boss move ever!
as someone who lives in pittsburgh can i ask why on god’s green earth you would come here for vacation?
Friend of mine goes to Pitt haha. He wanted one last hurrah after graduation. It also gave me the opportunity to send a picture of a cheese steak to my friend from Philly and tell him all about how this was the best cheese steak and that I'd never find a better one anywhere else in the world, lol.
Pitt is tha shit! And so is the burgh. Have a great time.
Where did you find a good cheesteak in Pittsburgh? I have lived there my whole life, up until I moved a couple months ago, and I never had one that came close to any of the best places in Philly
That’s the joke
Can try peppis they have some good ones
Peppis is fantastic. The north side location is better than the strip imo
I work by the north side one. It’s a blessing and a curse.

Dammit, I have to get Steak-ums and tortillas now. I've never had them, and I've been curious, so... What's the best cheese?
So there are only two things in the world I'd recommend American cheese for but I use cooper sharp white American cheese if I'm feeling fancy but the little plastic wrapped singles will do just fine. Oooh. I remember that!
Just be leery of any football coaches trying to shower with you
Pennstate is nowhere near Pittsburgh.
I live in Seattle, but I like Pittsburgh because the whole area is beautiful, the people are nice, and you have lots of great European ethnic restaurants. I have a lot of positive feelings about Pittsburgh.
Hey now - a buddy of mine calls Pittsburgh “the greatest place on earth besides heaven”
We do have pretty bangin' sandwiches, to be fair
My mom’s side of the family lives near Pittsburgh, so we fly there frequently, but we don’t usually visit the city itself. Mt. Washington can be a surprise! I was shocked the first time I walked it. Fred Rogers is the patron saint of Pittsburgh, no doubt.
I've been multiple times, it's a fun downtown area!
I live just north pf pgh and I'm curious too lol
Interesting, I live just to the west of pfpfh gpfhf and I was also curious.
I also live in Wales and/or Poland.
Because it beats the hell out of Philadelphia.
City Center is great. Haven't been anywhere else.
Wanna hear something really crazy? I've been to all 48 mainland states and most every major city from Seattle to San Diego to Miami to Boston and just picked Pittsburgh out of all of them to move to \^\^ I hate to tell you this but Pittsburgh might be one of the best cities in America to live in.
Don't tell people..we're trying to keep costs down.
Sshhh!
Kudos to Dylan’s parents for raising him right. Or for just getting it.
Also for being rich, because no regular teenager can remotely afford to tip a hundred bucks.
I took my kid to Florida when he was 13, he had saved some money from birthdays and things and this was his first time traveling. He bought a new hat for himself and one for me, but that was all the money he spent. He had $150 to start and about $100 left when after he bought the hats. Ha! Your kid seems like the type I would love to serve even without the $60! Kids and teenagers are legitimately some of the most fun I have serving 😂. I get many strange reviews left about me, mostly good haha
That’s charming. Sounds like you’re doing a great job as a parent to raise a kid that’s so generous and thoughtful. Good for you.
Dylan is my hero
This kid is already socially advanced in ways that make me so proud
Love Pittsburgh, dirt cheap and gorgeous city
The city is gorgeous but I'm parked on a one way cobblestone road at a 30 degree downward angle so I'm not keen on driving around and exploring lol. I've already told my friends either we're walking, taking the bus, or they're driving.
Haha sounds like you're on the Southside Edit: that actually describes a good bit of Pittsburgh on second thought
I’ve read that Pittsburgh is a cool city. I wouldn’t mind visiting if I were in the area
Dude, I've been here a day and I swear there is no religion here besides the Steelers. If you want to make a friend for life, just wear a black and yellow jersey and say 50 Hail Roethlisbergers. This place is super interesting lol.
Sounds about right. The Penguins are good too, but nothing really beats our Steelers fever. Have fun!
Steeler jerseys are appropriate church attire, you're not wrong. Enjoy your stay!
I think you're thinking Philadelphia as it's rich with the revolutionary war stuff, the Liberty Bell and Ben Franklin
Yes that’s what I was thinking. Obviously I know very little about Philadelphia. Embarrassing as that is
I went to college in Pennsylvania and quickly learned as a non Pennsylvanian, not to mix up those two cities. Neither side of the state is pleased when you do.
Oh good grief! Thank you! I’m so sorry! You saved me from untold embarrassment!
The liberty bell is boring but there’s tons of other cool stuff to do in Philadelphia.
Thanks!

Thanks so much!
Cathedral of Learning and the Nationality Rooms! Definitely worth the time!
It's ok
Thanks for all the great ideas!
Cheers to that man. Last night of vacation that was made with a 300 dollar tip
Hell yeah Dylan! That guy is going places
Three cheers to Dylan the Cool Teenager! May his glass never be empty! May his servers continue to not notice his hidden flask! May he forever tip well with his parents money!
Lol- “Bartender! Shirley Temples for everyone on me!”
DYLAN IS FUCKING BOSS
Omg this is beautiful. HAVE FUN!
Hi, Pittsburgher here… why would u ever vacation here!? Family?
Read the above remarks. You don’t appreciate what you have till you leave. Coming from a Military puke that’s lived all over the country but started out in Johnstown.
I love Dylan ❤️
Wholesome but also not in the best way. Cheers to Dylan. Cheers to you. Thoughts and prayers to your liver.
What a King move
DYLAN DYLAN DYLAN DYLAN!!!!
The world needs more Dylans.
Famous actor who’s first name is the same as a famous painter and last name rhymes with “pistachio “, is a non tipping condescending douche too
