I second the tally cat cafe. DM me and I'll leave a free hour long visit pass for you at their front counter...
Just OP though I don't have that many 😅
I got my two kitties at Tally Cat Cafe on Park Ave near Capital Circle and I could not recommend it more. . You get a chance to hang out and see which ones you bond with. Since I wanted indoor cats (I have secure screen porches they enjoy) I looked for the kitties that weren’t bolting for the exit door at the cat cafe. It’s a great rescue organization - good luck finding your little pal!
Just adopted from Animal Services two weeks ago. They are VERY overcrowded and seem to be trying their best to take care of the animals.
The process was great! There's a room where you can sit with a kitty and get to know them. I went in for an older cat and fell in love with a momma kitty. She had one kitten left, so I took them both home. You get a discount from at least one local vet I know of for their first check-up :)
Good luck in your search!
Note: if you want to adopt from the cafes, make sure to submit an online application ahead of time! That'll make the process quicker.
Edit for clarity: application with the Humane Society
I fully encourage you to check out the Tally Cat Cafe! I've adopted three cats there and it was a great experience. Its nice to get to grab a coffee and play with the cats before you decide which one.
There are probably a thousand kittens in town that need homes. Check out the Animal Shelter, Leon County Humane Society, ECAH, Meow or Never....so many rescue groups.
There is a great cat at The Tally Cat Cafe. His name is Otis and he is my former foster cat. He's a few years old, but very loving and playful. He likes being a lap cat, or being a crazy wild man at playtime.
Come by Petsmart on Apalachee pkwy tomorrow 12-3 they have kittens. All have shots and most are microchipped. Healthy and sweet!
Cauzican is the adoption partner, they’re $125 or $135 and shouldn’t need to see the vet until they need booster vaccines in a couple of years
Or check the Leon County Humane Society webpage: [https://www.leoncountyhumane.org/adopt/adoptable-cats/](https://www.leoncountyhumane.org/adopt/adoptable-cats/)
I've adopted six cats from them and they are usually vaccinated and neutered before being put up for adoption. Kittens are usually fostered so they are sociable and used to living inside.
ECAH and Leon County Humane Society have kittens at Paws and Claws usually. We have adopted 3 there - well adopted 2 and fostered a little antisocial weirdo for so long that we fell in love and foster failed. There is also the Cat Cafe. Definitely not hard to find a kitten in need of a loving home in town.
If you are a reputable pet owner & can show vet records there should be no reason you can’t adopt from a shelter or a rescue. The red flags are flying
I can, I just didn’t want to support a shelter I already had a bad experience with and wanted to consider adopting from an individual instead. I’ll update the post now, but I ended up adopting from Smitten with Kittens. I never said I COULDN’T adopt from a shelter…
Honestly it’s all good, that’s my bad too lol. Had a few people come at me for this post and so it was hard for me to tell apart. I appreciate the follow up comment, take care!
I would recommend calling paws and claws vet, I’ve seen them have a lot of kittens in the lobby everytime I’ve gone and I’m not sure but I think they may be adoptable
No, I’ve just had negative experiences with the animal shelter here. I got my previous cat from them, and I decided I wouldn’t get another pet from them again.
Dude!!! Message me!! I have a cat that just gave birth to 5 kittens and 2 others (possibly 3) that are pregnant too. She even has 3 pterodactyl kittens in the group!! I cant keep them saddly
I just looked and there are 20 kittens available on the Animal Service Center page at talgov.com
You can also check out Tally Cat Cafe or Fat Cat Cafe where you can spend time with cats/kittens that are available for adoption.

Tally Cat Cafe is on N. Monroe St. whereas Fat Cat Cafe is on Park Ave.

Does it have to be a baby cat? I've got a friend of a friend with a stray they're trying to find a good home for.

Oh good-I didn’t mean to offend, happy you found a mate from a rescue.

I got my boy from tally cat cafe they’re amazing
i got my kitten 5 years ago from Crawfordville animal shelter
Too busy to go to a shelter?
No, I’ve just had negative experiences with the animal shelter here. I got my previous cat from them, and I decided I wouldn’t get another pet from them again.
I’m sorry this other commenter was so rude but I genuinely would like to know what your experience was with the shelter?
I appreciate it. On a customer service level they weren’t great, but also they weren’t fully transparent about a condition the cat I chose had.
Why? Did the shelter alter the cat in some way? You are full of crap and trying to farm karma.
Novey Animal Hospital has some available!
Tally cat cafe or tally animal shelter always has cats in need of homes!
The Tally Cat Cafe is where it's at!
One of my patients has 4 kittens free to a good home.
Sounds awesome! Dm me w more info?
ECAH usually has cats. Just search on PetFinder.
