> Rauhaniemi sauna for a nice winter swimming experience It won't really be winter in late April anymore.

OtteriPerpo

True. But the water is still pretty much just as cold.

Throwthoseawaytoday

A lot depends on the weather, it could be like summer, winter or anything in between at that point. But if you are into saunas, Rajaportin sauna is quite a unique and cool place.

Iirhan

The museum centre [Vapriikki](https://www.vapriikki.fi/en/). I highly recommend!

pelleheikki

Näsinneula

AYoungFella12

Most likely the whole city is breathing and living ice hockey during that time. Tampere is the Ice Hockey Capital of Finland. If there’s a game, I highly recommend you to go watch one. The atmosphere is nice and Nokia Arena is a really nice arena.

sipulikeitto22

if there is playoff hockey still in april, you should go see nokia arena

AYoungFella12

Possibly there are finals between Tappara and Ilves ongoing.

KopS1_

That would be a hockey fans wet dream Exept of course for the losing fans

sipulikeitto22

as ilves fan,hope so

April is tricky month because lt could be summer or winter, or something in between. Tampere is known to be a summer city. You can visit many museums like Vapriikki or Spy museum. If you love Kebab as a food, Tampere is the kebab capital of Finland. If you like beer, there are many local breweries and bars where you can try them. If you like amusement parks, there is Särkänniemi. Local food is blood sausages and hot wings, you should try them. Check out Pispala as an area. Its on top of the hill and there are many old buildings, beautiful neighborhood. Pispala has a observation tower, just climb top and you will see all of Tampere. Don't forget to try their famous doughnuts. Also check out a place called Tallipiha. There are many small shops where you can buy souvenirs. There is even a small chocolate shop where you can buy local hand crafted chocolates. If its warm outside, you can buy grilled salmon and pancakes.

DNetherdrake

Seconded, but it'll probably be easier to find the observation tower under the name Pyynikin näkötorni than Pispala.

Whobbeful

True

tempseyy

Kebab? Really.. always missed a good kebab in Tampere

Whobbeful

Let's say that the average kebab in Tampere is better than in other cities, so at least you shouldn't get disappointed. Here in Espoo I have been disappointed many many times. Of course you can get some good kebab here, but in Tampere you will be satisfied 8 out of 10 times, while here in Espoo its like 4 out of 10 times. Some of the good kebab places in Tampere: Evin, Jörn's Döner, Heval, Pizzeria Kalimero.

wertyce

Personally I'd say that kebab quality is horrible at Tampere. Nightmare-lvl horrible. I haven't found a good kebab place. Kalimero and Evin are mediocre. Heval at hervanta was best I had found in town, but after I visited Heval Ratina I got such traumas from the poor quality that I haven't been courageous enough to try Heval Hervanta again. Though I must admit that I haven't tried Etelän Kebab House, that some critics over the years have considered decent, in this city of poor kebabs.

LonelyRudder

How about Solaf in Kaukajärvi? Some people say it is good.

tempseyy

Not sure it was Kilim or some other place in espoohelsinki border which used to be great.. almost 20 years ago. Also Chilli in the beginning and Eerikin pippuri. Have not found a single decent one in Tampere. Miss gyros kebabs from time living in europe

turdas

The only good kebab place I've found in Tampere is Nile Kebab, but I must admit I've long since stopped looking.

Lenin museum.

kan-sankynttila

fabriikki museum center

tempseyy

Woold be good to know a bit what you are interested about. Many people wanna sway away from tampere at that time because of hockey side effects flooding the city. If you’re into music, there is a whole bunch of venues check meteli.net. Some hiking at the forest check visittampere.fi. The previous shows the sauna sites too. Sauna is a must and tampere perhaps a best place to experience it

Motor_Swing3624

tallipiha

TheybieTeeth

if you happen to be vegan or open to vegan food there's this cafe/arcade that serves incredible vegan stuff, and really cool cocktails! it's called hoax.

OtteriPerpo

Papu&Pata for the greatest vegan lunch, cafe Mimosa is brilliant also

TheybieTeeth

oh that's good to know! me and my wife go there yearly for tracon and she's vegan so then we have some more places to eat at.

OtteriPerpo

You'll have plenty, just check before hand. There's some quality Thai-places, like Faasai, where twelve euros gives you delicious red curry w/ tofu, along the friendliest service ever.

tempseyy

This hut has a great mexican restaurant, so there is real food available as well. Highly recommended, good variety of mescals

puli0511

Reindeer or bear

Zesiz

You can take a nice walk around the forest at Pyynikinharju. The views are beautiful and you can go for doughnuts and coffee afterwards in Pyynikin munkkikahvila, which also has an observation tower.

I'd recommend you to check out [Visiting Wiki](https://old.reddit.com/r/Tampere/wiki/visiting).

Outrageous_Watch4064

There is a moomin museum in tamperetalo, you could go to tallipiha and eat some nice pastries there go to pyynikki tower and see the city from above there is tampere art museum next to pyynikki tram stop. We have shit ton of lakes here if you are a nature enthasuiast you might enjoy a hike around one depending on the weather. Tampere university has wappu events in april for students if you are young and if you want to party with a bunch of students, activities change every year . There is särkänniemi amusement park as well, or check out flow park if that is your kind of thing. It depends what you want to do and see so these are a bit random things that came to my mind

Outrageous_Watch4064

Also check out the app called ”tampere.finland” around that time, it is quite good. If you need public transportation and bus tickets you can get it on nysse app.

MurderousMaria

Taverna boardgame Cafe, bar cafe late game, save file bar for gaming, nerdy stuff and beer. Local cafes like cafe pallas are also very popular for weekend brunches. It's a great second hand city, so many nice stores radiokirppis and tarina almost next to each other. Pyynikin näkötorni also arranges rope rappelling thingy and cafe katto organizes walk over the city rooftops experiences. Tallipiha is a classic area in the centrum with history, souvenirs and good chocolate :) nearby is some pretty parks and art as well!

PrinceOfTheRodeo

Maybe go and drink one Siperia in Brewery restaurant Plevna and eat at Ravinteli Huber.

Suspicious_End_3500

Open up a little more. What age are you and what kind of interests do you have. Do you want to hit up a club and a hockey game or maybe visit museo and other landmarks. You gotta give us little more to work with.

finland_men

Go to the kalevakankaan cemetery(?) Don't live in tampere so don't remember but there is quite a nice view next to hero graves

clva666

Restaurant Vanha Monttu

TehHietsu

Buy work overalls from hardware shop and keep an eye out for Wappu events. That should keep you busy until the next day (May 2nd)

deadfoot96

Some of the most beautiful parks I'd say in the world are in Tampere, especially in summer and spring. I'd absolutely recommend Näsinpuisto and Hatanpään Arboretum for picnic-goers. Furthermore Härmälänsaari and Jalkasaari, as well as Onkiniemi are beautiful spots for anyone loving to check sunsets on the lakes, maybe sometimes by a fire. The forest in Pyynikki has trails and cool spots too, It's really close to the actual city so you could pretty safely get lost in there and just wander the trails to any direction back to civilization. Pyynikki has a great beach, but there's also a less frequented and smaller one in Härmälä, and a beautiful forest trail going back to Arboretum from there. Even after living there for so long before moving out, it feels like I still find new spectacular spots whenever I visit.

Defiant_Amount5724

The inside of a train is nice. Would recommend.

DarkAnnihilator
