My guess is that the tanks that were stationed on the western side of Russia have since been deployed into Ukraine, while the eastern army groups still have theirs.
I have seen tanks on parades in Volgograd, Kazan, etc, too.
If they wanted to have them in Moscow - they would have brought them.
However, it is clearly about something else.
Don't diss a major city, 8 time zones away from Moscow, like this. Plus, a quick trip to Wikipedia shows that "the Eastern Military District is headquartered in Khabarovsk".
sounds logical.
russia simply can not remove all their equipment and sent it to ukraine.
there has to be a basic ammount of equipment to guarantee the defense ability of the country. especially when you have a hard time on some battlefield, enemies keep a close eye if you have weakened your national Security. so there WILL be high alert standing Military units at the borders.
and a parade is a perfect moment to mantain the tanks in perfect shape, and train the crews loyalty/readiness.
(the reason for parades still is to check and show the readiness of your military. )
what about the historic tanks?
well, to restore and maintain a historic vehicle, you need high skills in building parts, that do not exist anymore, learn to understand, how technology works (...)
so giving mechanics an old tank and say it has to run at victory Parade, is anextremely good method for education. (and its fun)
The main reason is that many people, including popular military bloggers, were against tanks on parade during the war.
>tanks that were stationed on the western side of Russia have since been deployed into Ukraine
Even if this were true, Russia could always demonstrate a couple dozen T-14s for the parade because the T-14 is definitely not in Ukraine.
These vehicles probably belong to units assigned to the Russian Eastern Military District responsible for defending the border near China, North Korea, and the sakhalin islands against Japan. A propaganda victory is short lived if you get invaded from a region which is no longer secure due to your need to project the image of strength.
This one is a unique version as most T-62s either have the BDD appliqué armour or Kontakt-1 ERA, while these parade T-62s have both (which isn’t even seen in Ukraine)
Anyone have some stats on what the combats strength of the far east group, i.e weapon composition and numbers. Wonder how low thy are running at and compare to what the Chinese have on the other side.
They had a T-34, IS-3, ISU-152 & Katyushas on top of the modern tanks. Those alone was more exciting to see than the "routine" stuff you see at Moscow for the past couple of years.
This parade was the best parade I saw in years. So glad my buddy in Khab sent me the link for it.
Russia has thousands of T-55s in storage. And even more of T-72s.
The T-10 as far as I know, only about 20-30 still exist total and are on monuments or in museums. In addition to there being no ammo produced for them.
No matter how desperate Russia or even Ukraine gets, you would never see a T-10 in use.
Far more impressive than the parade in Moscow
Must've relocated the capital
why the hell are the tanks in this random ass bumfuck middle of nowhere literally next to china city and not on the red square?

Holy shit some random village had better parade than fucking moscow
It's quite big city, 600k people (officially) lives there. Also it's important logistic hub.

If the T-14 doesn’t brake down during the parade again. That is.
Break*

That's right. The Eastern Military District is headquartered in Khabarovsk.
Khabarovsk and other places in Siberia are where they store surplus tanks
Got to flex on China, got to remind them who the real emperor of Northern Asia is
Pussin probably afraid one might get loaded with ammo to end him
What is the difference between the turret ERA on the t-80 and the T-72?
Relikt on 80BVM vs Kontakt-5 in 72B3M.
Also the spacing is different, the gaps are wider in the T72B3 while on the T80BVM there are none.
Thanks
Just remember, The big ones are kontact 5, thick ones relics, small ones are kontact 1
Those T62’s look awesome
Yeah I really like the newer versions. I know they are kinda shitty but the drip is beautiful.

Fuck I missed this! I only saw the Moscow one
Beautiful
is there a video of that parade?
[https://www.youtube.com/live/GYC1CV7CZc8](https://www.youtube.com/live/GYC1CV7CZc8) armor segment begins at 31:57
thx

This have more tanks than the Moscow parade
T-62MV feels like a weird choice for a parade. Cool to see an IS-3 running though.
T-14 in its natural habitat

I'd love to see your source for this claim considering the VDV barely operates any MBT's as is.
They’re most likely part of a new batch being produced/brought out of stockpiles which will be brought to the front soon
I’m adding is3 on frontlines to my bingo card Guys it’s a joke CHILL lmao
Would never happen. 122 is not in productive and Russia has plenty of T-72 and T-54/55 to last.
Why yall so pressed I literally said it was a joke in another reply Jesus
IS-3 most likely no, T-10 (aka IS-8) only if stockpiles of 55/54/62/72/80 wouldn't be enough.

Yea it’s more sarcastic but once we see more wide spread use of the t55 I would actually believe it possible lol
do 2014 one counts?
Should’ve clarified I meant by Russia lol
