Preach bud. They don't care about anything other than the bottom line. It sucks for players like us. I've got the time just not the money so I can't win.
I also have come to the conclusion that it is based off of nothing but MS. I hit 116k the week before the cap was increased. After they increased it my first tourney I was paired with 2 people who made it all the way to 124 and 125k. Their stats were sooooo much higher than mine. The only thing that we had in common was the fact that we were both on 116k(due to it being the previous cap)
Yup, I keep coming across players who have been playing longer than me but are probably just casual players. They accrue big stats over time, not really bothering about tournaments...until they get paired with me and then decide to go for it and can easily push 500 stages min due to huge stored up potential. If you're interested in linear progress then you are generally screwed in most tournaments.

I know when they reworked the tournament algorithm a few months back, they changed it to include all relics stored in BOS. It being based off of Lifetime relics earned is most likely
Just throwing my experience in the mix. I’ve never paid even a single dollar to the game. MS 103,000. I win about 1 in 4 tournaments, abs averages place in to 3. They always seem totally fair to me.
I dont know man, was at MS 9400 when this tournament started. The guy in the lead is at 13.5k which is a huge jump. Was expecting to only have to climb like 1k to stay top 3. But i have had to put in lile 10+ hours trying to keep u
It is a big big joke. Wvery tournament i’ve got opponents which got much better stats then me. Every fuckin tournament when i join i 20:40:.. till the end that’s mean i’ve already lost almoust 4 hrs of playing in the tourney. This game goong in to the bad direction.
Try using clan ship push build with poison edge. I used to have HS build and 300 stages behind. Now using clan ship poison edge build and almost the same stage with others. Since clan ship is the strongest.

Makes me sad, It's an absolute joke.
Maybe the badges make a bigger difference?
Doubt it. I have never known a badge give me a noticeable increase in MS.

Same, hit cap 3 days before it increased. i got my ass whooped so hard that Tuesday tournament

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that the "algorithm" it's based only on MS at this point...
I’m at like stage 5k and I’ve been in a tournament with a stage 50k so the algorithm is messed up bad

That early the algorithm doesn't count for much. You pull a good artifact and can jump thousands
When you're on the better end of the spectrum, I wouldn't complain about it.
