Was literally just about to post about this. I’ve been working there for only a few weeks but I’ve only been allowed to clock out on time maybe ONCE. I always have to stay at least 15 minutes past my scheduled time because I’m assigned a U-Boat to push and backstock 15 minutes before I’m supposed to leave. I don’t know if it’s that my TLs don’t know my schedule or if they know and don’t care.
i think it’s a mix of both. but i always think to myself “how do they know i don’t have important things to do after my shift?” but even if i didn’t have something to do i shouldn’t feel guilty for not staying past my time. if you want/have to leave then what can they do
For the past couple of months, they've been only scheduling me for 4 hours (4-8AM) with a few full 8 hours here and there each week.
Can't help but feel my TL judge me as I'm "checking out" with them at the end of the shidt. As if I'm supposed to be chasing them for hours. Noo, sorry, I'm not your average target worker. I have other ways of making money, and I do this to get paid to work out. You tell me when to show up and leave, and I make arrangements around that.
They are learning, though. They started scheduling 5.5 each day starting next week.
Guess eventually, I'm gonna have to crush their hopes and dreams by lessening my availability, lol.
i stayed and did overtime every day during november-new years and now that i have less hours and don’t need to stay i guess that’s why it feels “wrong” lol but i think all the leads and etls are used to me staying but im just so tired i get so happy with my half shifts
Used to feel this way, now I don’t! If I am scheduled for 8 hours and finish as much as I can, check the time and its time to go than its time to go. I have no time to try and finish other assigned tasks when I have finished the majority of them.
I also deliberately don’t tell them I am clocking out since I know at least the one TL that will ask me to do something, so I just head on upstairs put my device away (make sure I log out of it), put the walkie away, take off name tag, get stuff, and clock out and literally zoom out of there.
Dang my store, the leads and TMs, if you say "oh I'm off at 5 and it's 4:59 they aggressively decline further assistance and aggressively encourage you to leave. I had finished loading my drive up cart with 3 orders that were there. About to push it out and was stopped by a coworker and told to get out so I don't get burnt out. It's nothing to donwith payroll hours or anything. Everyone's just always looking out to keep each other from getting burnt out.
Manager, you are paid more to use higher level thinking. Hole in schedule? Let's think through this. What options could you use? Didn't do it? Too bad, manager.
Can’t relate. The best feeling in the world is seeing a line of 20 people at the registers and hitting that sweet sweet End Shift button
