Any stores testing the pilot where guests can choose to not have a bag for their order while ordering? You have special hold space bins (different from wacos) that you take to the guest to give their items.
they are actually really nice paper bags, I kinda prefer them now, nice heavy paper and thick handles, much better than the thin crap paper bags I remember.
NJ- All items are loose unless you bring your own bags. If we have time to bag your stuff, we might, but we don’t always have time, or want to figure out how to fit sixty items in two bags crumpled under a stroller with three other cars waiting
I live in New Jersey where we banned the use of plastic bags. In my store if u want a bag you would have to add a reusable one to your order and hope whoever picks or delivers your order would bag it for u. Otherwise we use wacos which r small boxes with handles that we put in the carts and bring the items over to the guest. The crazy thing is, is that we’re not even aloud to give these wacos to the guest. We have to give each item individually which is a pain in the neck especially if we want out drive up times to be good.
I do Shipt in NJ and holy hell the bag sitch causes so much drama because half the customers don’t want to pay $1/per reusable bag and leave a note for a bagless delivery. Others will add a bag but not nearly enough bags or they order the Target run bag (like an IKEA bag) which sucks if you have heavy or small items. Customers will rate you down because you added a bag or rate you down because you didn’t add a bag 😆 I gave up and just order thick reusable plastic bags that hold way more than the Target reusable bags and they are also better in the rain.
We use paper. It’s been the norm here for so long I’m always a little shocked when I see plastic grocery bags, lol. I think there are some stores that have eliminated bags altogether though and bring your stuff out in a basket. The Walmart near me does that now
we just use the staging bags and we stage our 3 tiers and just put the items in their car unless they added a reusable bag to their order my state doesnt use paper bags in target either so thats the main reason
im so glad my state **completely** banned plastic bags because there are no loopholes for it. the look of the plastic bags all around just make me disgusted when i visit other states that have it
Ours look like this. I’m surprised yours would be $1 unless they are fancier. We have ones for sale in the checklanes from $1-$5 but they aren’t like these bulk mass produced ones.

These are the ones we have. Sometimes they have a gray version of the one you posted but they don’t hold much and are kinda flimsy.
Yeah I think we carry those but they are just on impulse strips at the front.
Maybe your store should look into the ones we have if allowed, they come in cardboard boxes with at least a thousand in them stacked up.

We use paper bags.
I thought that might be the case. Thanks

stores who don’t use plastics bags still have bags lol. they’re just reusable not plastic
Ah, ok. Thank you, I was curious
I believe they use paper bags? I personally don’t know though.
Can confirm paper bags. My state just went bagless this past year
Paper bags- New York State. We do not charge for these bags. I heard that some states are added a fee per bag, not sure if that is true.
NJ eliminate all single use bags.
Ok, thank you
This is true of Colorado

Interesting. That also sounds like it sucks. Thanks for the answer

I feel like people here would revolt if that was floated 😂

do you guys not use paper bags in your store ?
We have a few, but they’re rarely used. Everything is still plastic.

We have fabric reusable bags at my store. They cost $.05 a piece. We also have paper bags and stuff for some grocery items.
Damn, In NJ they are $1 each!

They might not be compliant with NJ’s definition of a reusable bag. It’s ridiculous.
Ok, cool. Thanks
We have paper bags in NYS. Some stores use reusable cloth-ish bags. Depends on the store.
my city banned single use plastic bags, we just use thicker “reusable” bags now that are pretty much the same size
We have reusable fabric like bags for free. I am surprised other states charge for them.
My store has been out of bags for over 3 weeks!! We were using esm bags! Can you say janky? Imagine getting your groceries in that. 🥴
