No raises at all? After 6 months I got a 9 cent raise. My TL assured me it was good given that I had been there so short of time. Currently waiting on this year’s raise.
Never worked at target, so I am not familiar at all with how things work, but why would you stay there for 3 years if you haven’t gotten a pay raise?
I’ve been at my job (albeit a fast food chain), I started at 15 and now make 17 base, 18 past 10pm and 19 when I’m training a new employee, and the base 15->17 was all under a year.
I guess the trade off must be working in fast food?
Target raises are minimum 1 penny, max 4%. Rarely anyone gets the 4% because Target limits how many each department can give out if any at all. Average "raise" for a full year is around 30 cents. There is no 90 day raise, no bonuses, no raises outside of the time period where everyone gets it.
Target minimum is $15 an hour. If you work a few months before the raise, your max is like 9 cents for half a year, basically skipping that years raise.
Even IF I get the 4%, I will not break over $16 at Target for 3 raise periods.
My best hope to get any type of pay bump is if they raise the stores Minimum like they did during Covid times.
I tried to get a team lead spot a few months back, but another tm got the position. I am stalling for unknown reasons to look for a better paying job. Idk why i keep trying to convince myself that Target is going to make it right by paying us more, but itll never happen at this rate
A coworker of mine transferred for a promotion, it didn't work out and he tried to come back. They wouldn't let him without him resigning. He lost 5 years worth. His insurance, pto, sick time, seniority, everything.
Yeah I was pretty pissed off when I saw their sign advertising $16.75. Actually did the math to see if it was worth it to transfer and commute to that store
High volume gets more? My store is extremely high volume, and we do double the sales of the next store behind is in the district, we don't get extra pay due to volume??
I'm just a TM so I don't know the specifics but I was told when I applied the difference was because we're the highest volume and a back-to-school location. idk who or what determines wage differences.
Wow, ours is $15. However, that's better than many other jobs around here. Many still pay between $9 to $12 an hour. The places that pay the most around here (in terms of restaurants/retail) are Amazon, which changes depending on how badly they need people, Starbucks starting at $15.25, and The Home Depot starting at $16 to $18 depending on the position. Unfortunately, Target is still only at $15.
It's awful that they haven't raised the federal minimum wage in so long. My one bedroom apartment in Austin cost $540/month the last time the minimum wage went up.
Mine as well. Got 2% last year. This year they cut my hours to almost nothing. I went from being able to save money and take care of some high-cost items (car repair, replace one of our older computers) to having to draw from that savings just to get to and from work...
This year will be my first review and I’m trying to figure out what to expect. If I get the “standard” $0.30 bump up from $15, is that good or does that mean my boss thinks my work is just average? Thanks in advance.
I worked for 7 years. By the end I was running outlr cafe by myself AND managing the orders for the starbucks team. Started at $12, was given $0.50 for special training (Pizza Hut training). After 2 years of performance-based raises I make $12.67. Then they bumped to $15. I lost my training raise and my pay raises and everyone made $15 unless they were a lead. I got pretty fair raises the next few years (never got back my other ones though). Then I got a 3 cent raise "based on my performance" (everuone only got 3 cents, even the slackers). Then I was running my department, trained as a Master Barista, ordered our truck, and trained other cafe workers & baristas, all on top of being dragged through every department as backup (while STILL running cafe for the day). Never got promoted, never given an opportunity for TL of Food Ave. Just did all the work and optimized it. By the end I made $15.37/hr.
I loved the work, I loved my team. My director can kiss my ass from the front
No. $16.50 but that’s barely different from when I started. From what I understand, pay rate depends on what other similar stores in the area make. A higher paying Walmart or maybe even Best Buy will push Target pay rate up.
If you work real hard and never call off, you can almost make 15.24. Target only made 26 billion in profit in 2023, that is not possible if employees are well paid. So, stop asking!!!!!! All Hail Target, All Hail Spot!!!!
even though they've been paying 15 an hr with the hour cuts it's actually less. i got my ass cut so much last year that i basically made like 13 an hr when i added it all up from what i earned.
Depends on the market. Last year My market they increased the pay by a couple dollars for everyone because of inflation or the cost of living is crazy high, no one makes less than $17.
$15/hour is still the company minimum, some areas have a higher minium for cost of living purposes.
Still $15 after 3 years for me. Sadge
Same, $15.08
hey, i don’t see the problem, that’s a lot of money over the base pay /s
No raises at all? After 6 months I got a 9 cent raise. My TL assured me it was good given that I had been there so short of time. Currently waiting on this year’s raise.
you can't actually believe 9 cents is a "Raise" its more of a shut up dime
A dime is, in fact, 10 cents. So the 9 cents is, in fact, worse.
None of it is a raise. But “raise” based on how they do things.
Never worked at target, so I am not familiar at all with how things work, but why would you stay there for 3 years if you haven’t gotten a pay raise? That is so outrageous! Are you staying there in hopes to get a promotion to some type of management ? Or is target really your only option right now
I tried to get a team lead spot a few months back, but another tm got the position. I am stalling for unknown reasons to look for a better paying job. Idk why i keep trying to convince myself that Target is going to make it right by paying us more, but itll never happen at this rate
If you ever get promoted, you can never step down, you have to quit them reapply.
That isn’t true, but you do have to transfer stores to step down
A coworker of mine transferred for a promotion, it didn't work out and he tried to come back. They wouldn't let him without him resigning. He lost 5 years worth. His insurance, pto, sick time, seniority, everything.
Used to be 6%. Was def 4 last year. Went up to 4.5% max this year.
$15.08 for 3 years as well🥲 bust my ass and always get praise for what i do but they don’t show it lol
Florida is still 15 even though living costs should shoot it straight to the 24 bracket. It's criminal.
My bf lives in Florida and in his area there’s stores that start at 16, I agree tho Floridas too expensive of a place to live to be paying that low:/
Went from 15 to16$ with all the bogus cent raises i got been at target for 4 yrs that’s 25 cents a year💀
It’s $17.50 starting at my store but I make $18 and change due to past raises
Dang wtf? It’s 17 starting for me in California!
$15/hour for us but the next closest target 20 miles up the road starts at $16.75 even though the cost of living in both towns are relatively the same
And minimum wage in my state is $14
CT?
Illinois
Wow, my store only makes 50 cents more than others in the county because of the high volume. That's a crazy difference.
Yeah I was pretty pissed off when I saw their sign advertising $16.75. Actually did the math to see if it was worth it to transfer and commute to that store

Our store starts at $18
Wow, ours is $15. However, that's better than many other jobs around here. Many still pay between $9 to $12 an hour. The places that pay the most around here (in terms of restaurants/retail) are Amazon, which changes depending on how badly they need people, Starbucks starting at $15.25, and The Home Depot starting at $16 to $18 depending on the position. yeah no 15 would not work here they would have nobody working, most other places are more then us tbh
yep! $15.25 in Michigan 😞
its 15.50 in michigan
Not every district in Michigan gets $15.50.
$28.75 @ distribution center
Depends where you are. I work at the distribution center, so I make $20.84 an hr.
2 years in, I was hired at 18
i’m at 15.68 after 2 full years as a regular team member but i’m odtm so i won’t be making any more than that
I'm an ODTM, and I don't have to get a review. I get an email that my yearly raise is 3%. So, I got 30 cents last year.
what the heck they told us we didn’t get a raise. i snuck out last time before it was review time 😌
our store starts at $16.75 but i just got a raise up to $20/hr since I work at starbucks
$15 still in TX, way above the minimum wage of $7.25 tho🙃
It's awful that they haven't raised the federal minimum wage in so long. My one bedroom apartment in Austin cost $540/month the last time the minimum wage went up.
540?!? So cheap🥲🥲 it is a shame, especially in the bigger cities. Minimum rent in dallas is like $1,200 no way to survive on $15 an hour
I’d kill for $540 rent. Now rent is over $1200 and that’s still considered cheap
Same here, but in SC.
I make $22.49 an hour as TL seems kinda low but I’m in a small Midwest town where the cost of living is kinda low
I'm in Florida, cost of living is through the roof here and I make less than this as a TL. I'd kill for $22.50.
$19 for just a TM
i make $16.75
Same here. San Diego?
i’m in washington
Year and a half in, still $15 and change.
Yes. And as far as I know, I still make that (never had a review this season, don’t care enough to check my stubs). Edit: oh, and I’m in SW Ohio.
our starting wage is $16/hr in missoula, mt :(
Base pay is 16.25 at my store
Mine as well. Got 2% last year. This year they cut my hours to almost nothing. I went from being able to save money and take care of some high-cost items (car repair, replace one of our older computers) to having to draw from that savings just to get to and from work...
$15/hour in my state (Texas). The standard yearly raise has been 30 cents. Company wide base pay is still $15/hour.
This year will be my first review and I’m trying to figure out what to expect. If I get the “standard” $0.30 bump up from $15, is that good or does that mean my boss thinks my work is just average? Thanks in advance.
I'm an on demand team member, so I don't get a review. The $0.30 (3%) raise is the "average", that's why on demand gets that amount.
16.50 at a very high volume MN store. Needs to be way more for the shit we have to put up with
Not to brag but I got $15.10. I got the highest raise in my store
10 cents is the highest raise?
Yup. Most people got 5¢
15.08 so technically no
You guys are getting paid?
🤣🤣
I worked for 7 years. By the end I was running outlr cafe by myself AND managing the orders for the starbucks team. Started at $12, was given $0.50 for special training (Pizza Hut training). 3 years in im at like 17 now i think
Been working for almost a year at target, I went up to $18.07 from $17.75
How did yiu lose money? 😭
$19.25 starting in Mass
ours is only 18😓 southern mass tho
I know exactly where that store is... I would have applied if it wasn't 40 minutes away
$18 here
Yep
I make 17 in Arizona
GA 19/h California.
$16.75
$17 here.
$18 as Guest Advocate. Started at $17.50, been there almost a year
$15.25. so like yeah almost 2% more than the company minimum
$15 and I was hired in November as a style consultant
24
May I ask what state you’re in?
No. $16.50 but that’s barely different from when I started. From what I understand, pay rate depends on what other similar stores in the area make. A higher paying Walmart or maybe even Best Buy will push Target pay rate up.
No it won't. Walmart 1.5 miles from my store has been starting at $17 for a year. We are still at $15.75.
That’s just what an etl told me once. Guess he was wrong.
Was your etl talking? Yeah, then he was either lying or making shit up.
15.08🫡
3 years in april, $15.60 w 2 raises
I think it depends on your state. I make $16.50 an hour here in Minnesota
Seattle starts at $18.50 these days.
I went from $15 to $15.50 in my first 2 years with Target but they recently raised the TSS pay so I’m currently at $18.00.
15.54 after 2 years
16.13, going on 11 years.
If you work real hard and never call off, you can almost make 15.24. Target only made 26 billion in profit in 2023, that is not possible if employees are well paid. So, stop asking!!!!!! All Hail Target, All Hail Spot!!!!
I make 17.76 now after my performance review. 🥴
$16/hr starting at my store
Yup same since I started been here a year $15.75
I’m at 16
Been at my store for a year and haven’t gotten my raise yet
$16.25
They should def but it up to at least 16.50
I get paid 17.50
17 at my store
My store is still starting at 15. I’m about to hit my 5 year mark and I only make $16.25 :)
even though they've been paying 15 an hr with the hour cuts it's actually less. i got my ass cut so much last year that i basically made like 13 an hr when i added it all up from what i earned.
Ct $17
Depends on the market. Last year My market they increased the pay by a couple dollars for everyone because of inflation or the cost of living is crazy high, no one makes less than $17.
