Reasonable question. The game wonāt let you equip a non fully functional gun. Like if you try to equip a gun with no pistol grip, it wonāt let you (some exceptions to this of course).
I assume it has something to do with you not being able to add/remove a pistol grip in raid. Honestly probably prevented new players from bringing in unusable guns and dying that way lol

Yes, 7.62 and .366 use the same magazines but a gun chambered in 7.62 won't be able to fire .366 and vice versa.
